You missed the Sleeping Dogs flash sale. [On sale. Buy it]

I like SD's combat a lot more than Batman's. Really all they have in common is the counter button. In AC you just tap one button (unless you're countering or doing one of the special moves, which you can only do in certain situations), but in SD you have more direct control over what Wei does. As much as I like AC I always feel like more of a spectator in the large brawls--that game shines when a Batman with 0 ballistic armor slowly takes out 6 armed dudes.

It is on sale, -50% off.

Year of the Snake - $3.49
Wheels of Fury - $1.99
Zodiac Tournament - $2.49
Nightmare in North Point - $3.49

All of the costume packs are $0.99. And there's other stuff for $1.99.

I want it to go 75%. I'll wait for a daily/flash since the same thing happened with Saints Row last year.

Which DLCs are worth getting? I bought Nightmare in North Point and didn't like it at all, mostly because the Jiang Shi were immune to all the best fighting moves and I couldn't do my thing with them, so I'm wary about anything that introduces any 'special' enemy types.

Year of the Snake. It has the most content, variety, and story of the mission packs, and is grounded in the Sleeping Dogs world. I loved it all, but it's less of a gimmick like Nightmare and Zodaic are. It's essentially "more Sleeping Dogs" and doesn't really introduce anything new, but in that respect it means you do a bit of everything: fist fights, shoot-outs, chases, and so on.

What's so good about this game? I found the story boring and I hate Batman-like combat.

Just not your game then. I'm not a big fan of the story or combat but driving around Hong Kong and playing a game that's not too taxing on the reflexes, non buggy and very polished was like a good pork bun. Tasty and filling.

dammit I was done with this game

Played the demo and didn't like it. I don't like brawler type games where you fight a lot with your hands. And the demo didn't have a driving portion which I was hoping for and what I really wanted to try.

I didn't! Threw it in my cart the second I saw that went on sale. Already played and loved it on 360, but for $6 on Steam I just couldn't pass it up.

I already played it, for free, as a rental EatChildren. *smug* What are you going to do about that?

PSN should've put the DLC on sale so I got 100% in trophies. Too bad they didn't.

Picked it up, playing it for my first time on medium settings on an average gaming laptop and it is still pretty great graphically, the driving controls very well, combat is fun....

Yeah if it goes on sale again, get it.

got it for free the day it came out on the eidos community manager's twitch stream

so did wario64

my sleeping dogs acquisition brother

Just beat it on PS3 this morning. It's definitely more fun than GTA IV which I quit about 1/3rd-1/2 of the way through.

Of course I liked the 2 previous True Crime games from back in the day (despite the glitches and the horrible framerate especially in Streets of NYC), so it's not surprising that I say that. This is basically a more polished version of those game with a good plot line.

I used the sale to pick up Year of the Snake. I already had the base game and most dlc from the glitch last time where it was all 90% off. Doesn't seem like they're releasing any more dlc, so now I can finally play the game.

Using this thread cause I'm too lazy to find the main. Just installed and mapping controls, it wont let me use the arrow buttons? This some bs, I'm left handed. Searching around you just flat out cant use them without mods and shit, fuck this game, wasted my money.

I got it for free on PSN+ and enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Too bad I got it after the DLC sales were already over.
