Evolution 2013 IOT2I Gods Among Losers Final Day - July 14th

So happy for Xian, he complete deserves it. Couldn't happen to a nicer person. EVO always manages to outdo itself. 6:40am.. My face hurts. G'night GAF.
 
KOF was hype (I don't even play the game or know anything about it but it was amazing)
Melee was hype
Injustice was decent
Marvel was out of this world.
SSF4 was ultra hype.
 
Best evo ever. I might have missed KoF (which I will admit is definitely hype as hell dunno why it was first) but marvel (oh the upsets) and sf had me on my toes. Best. Evo. Ever.
 
Automatically the best EVO since we were officially freed at the end of the stream this time.

But real talk, that was an amazing EVO all around. From start to finish, it was pretty great.
 
seems like every year s-kill makes a move that takes him further from the FGC in terms of his career. i think he said whatever he's working on at sony santa monica isn't a fighter. probably gets the feels all worked up inside him when he does EVO.
 
I'm sure SF4 would win the view wars if it wasn't last. But I'm sure that's debatable.

I was only able to catch Marvel and SF4 top 8, and they did not disappoint. How was Injustice?

So that wraps up EVO 2013 -- overall, incredible stuff this. The Finals = Godlike. Excited for EVO 2014.

People who can't appreciate a mirror match between the two best Akumas in the world are the bane of EVO threads. There is more to these games than upsets (even though by most definitions Tokido winning was an upset).

Yea, it always peaks earlier in the day. It gets real late especially for other timezones.
 
Seth crying...I think maybe leaving Capcom and being surrounded by Capcom based games at EVO is getting to him. He won't ever be completely on the 'inside' as he was before since he left.

That or he was diagnosed with some kind of terminal illness, but to see him emotional like that. That's all love for the FGC community.

Amazing EVO. Every EVO is amazing. I cannot compare them because they are all amazing and the emotions running through me now are just incredible.

As always, I love all of the GAFers in here, and I love fighting games.

Also, FGW thread title suggestions in the current FGW thread guys, cause we already got 'em going there.
 
That was just the best. Been watching about every minute of every tourney all year and the moments just keep topping each other over and over, with Evo blowing everything else completely out of the water. Couldn't have asked for a better final for most games.
 
I have only been watching since 2010 (i caught the end of 2009), but this has been the most enjoyable evo for me to watch. Last year was a bit of a down year, in my opinion, so my hype for actually attending was null. This year I want to start saving up for EVO 2014 right after the PS4 launch.

Someone should make some gifs of Xian setup for super or ultra as he's got so many of them. The dude is a genius as far as I'm concerned as he brought the character on a whole other level.
You don't even need to understand much about the game to see that he's a freaking beast. Extraordinary stuff, but then I predicted that he would make it to grand final against Infiltration and I was fairly close. :^p Neither Infiltration or Tokido were going to win tonight since the dude was on freaking point. Those long range ultra were simply sublime...
 
Evo was awesome. I mostly followed melee, the matches were hype. Especially Donkey Kong vs Fox where DK player made a comeback. If it wasn't for Nintendo's change of heart, I would never seen this type of high level play and I would probably follow AE pools instead. I hope we get one more year of melee if Nintendo allows it. Other than that great tournament and see you guys later.

He cries every year because he's one of the founders and it went from a few dozen dudes in an arcade to the biggest video game tournament in the world.
 
This Evo had so many great matches. A lot of disappointments and doubts. It's probably been one of the best since 09. The commentary was excellent. This is the 4th Evo I've watched.
