US/CAN Club Nintendo Thread: New and improved. Read the OP.

Can't believe people are being such big babies about this. The gifts are similar to last year's, why are people expecting more? People are saying they wanted the Luigi hat, but when the Mario hat was offered, I recall reading a ton of complaints about that too.

Anyways, the soundtrack is tempting, but those posters look great! I'll have to sleep on it.

The gifts last year were shitty because of the 3DS ambassador club making everyone platinum. It wasn't unreasonable to expect something decent again once it took actual effort to hit platinum.

I am getting the posters but don't really want them and won't hang them up. Maybe I will be able to find someone to buy them at some point.
 
I almost ordered the soundtrack until I realized that I already own it. I'm 99% sure I got it in some sort of Nintendo Power deal a long time ago when the game first came out. Nice try Nintendo! I'm gonna try for the calendar this year. At least that is something that can be used.
 
Huh...The gifts are not good. A little surprised since they took so long. It feels like they found some leftover stuff and said, "Let's give this away." There's nothing that I want, especially not from the Platinum options. I'll probably grab a free game at this point.
 
Prizes are kinda meh but I'd have loved those WW posters, since it's my favorite game of all time. Didn't make Platinum though, so I might be going with the calendar.
 
I got the CD why not, I have the sealed disc from ocarina 3D as well, add it to my collection with that and Hyrule Historia Limited, probably will be able to sell all for a good buck one of these years
 
I'm ok with these prizes. My wife and I are both platinum so I'm getting both.

Soundtrack is awesome, although I would have rather had the SMG soundtrack.

The Pikmin Poster by itself made the posters worth getting. Plus the Luigi and Windwaker posters are awesome as well.
 
Grabbed the posters; didn't care for the soundtrack. I can buy the games offered at anytime.

We can't expect more than virtual console games and paper prizes anymore it's too easy to platinum. Not complaining.

Now to wait and see if the replace all those out of stock rewards.

No, but we are not employees of Nintendo being paid in posters/old soundtracks.

You spend money on Nintendo products. You get points which you can spend on merchandise. The extra obsessive can spend 30 seconds filling out an extra form for a few extra points. In addition once a year the company give you some free merchandise or software.

Just be glad you are getting anything at all. If you don't like what free merchandise they offer, don't waste time clicking the 'place order' button. It's not like you are buying games just to get the Club Nintendo points.

I don't think NoE have Gold/Platinum awards.
 
I probably would've gone with the poster set if there was Fire Emblem representation, but because of a lack of that specific franchise, that sweet soundtrack won me over.

Besides, gotta show them that some people want soundtracks.

I mean, that's a pretty bad reward for Platinum status, but still. It's a goddamn soundtrack from NoA. Hard not to be happy about that!
 
Sigh, this is why I never try to make Gold or Platinum. If it happens then it happens. If not, oh well. I don't even know how I got Platinum this year. Maybe it was the Wii U launch.
 
I went with the soundtrack CD. Very nearly just took the calendar instead. Pretty underwhelmed with the rewards this year.

You can always buy Sakura Samurai, no point in picking it up as a prize.

TBH, I was expecting a porcelain group thingy with a mystery box, and luigi being at the center because it is the year of the Luigi in the Nintendo Zodiac.

But seriously, hopefully this is a wake-up call to people who are still expecting another Mario & Friends type of prize to come again. If you can't deal with stuff like posters, playing cards, and CDs then maybe it's time to stop participating in the Club Nintendo program and save yourself a lot of grief every year. This is our lot.

I bought my 3DS earlier this year so this is my first go around with the club nintendo rewards.

I'm just Gold status, and Links awakening is one of the zelda's I haven't played...is that gift worth it?
 
I'm definitely not selling my soundtrack, however much it might fetch. It's going to look great beside the OoT CD I got two years ago.

Wow what a joke, I guess I'll go for the CD the posters blow that MM poster would be cool if it were the original art but it's the HD version. I'm surprised they actually put the whole soundtrack instead of "selected" tracks. I would have been happy with a hat or a free set of hanafuda cards.
 
Went ahead and got the poster set. They just look good and I didn't really want the Majora's Mask OST after all or anything else offered.
 
Went with the soundtrack. Slightly underwhelming and wish they had a eShop money option if you don't like any of the offerings. Though, I won't complain about free stuff.
 
Wow. I could've sworn I read from multiple places the platinum was going to be a controller of some sort. Guess I just misread it as speculation? I just joined Club Nintendo this year and registered everything I bought the last 3-4 years to get platinum. Would've saved anything I could if I knew this shit heap of prizes was coming my way.

I wouldn't stress it. While the soundtrack may be worth 60 right now I imagine it will drop like a rock after all these soundtracks starting being sent out and people start trying to sell it.
 
I guess I'm going posters this year. The soundtrack could be sweet to resell but I doubt it goes for much after people grab them from this promo.
