Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Quoting myself from the previous page :D

Apparently Shahid helped give Liege the nod to add the PS4 and Vita as target platforms on their Kickstarter campaign. I'm not usually into Kickstarter but this game is ringing all the right bells for me. Gameplay looks good, great artwork, mature story and the guys behind it are fans of FF Tactics and Suikoden.

They already have $31,000 out of $51,000 with 12 days to go. I already backed. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about this one and I hope it meets its goal.

If you like it, spread the love!

wouldnt hold your breath, even if gamescom is a great vita show and 5 big games are announced, you'd be able to say pretty confidently that none of them would hit this year. i think for big stuff this year your just gonna have to be content with tearaway, Killzone and Rayman.

Batman is the one I'm personally most interested in out pf whats announced sofar

That was Rey from SCEA. SCEE has sent out emails promoting the PS4 focus, and I believe SCE UK's boss said as much too.

We will have to wait and see, but just because the focus is on PS4(where it was always going to be) does not mean that they cant put any effort into the Vita side of things. I dont recall how long Sonys gamescom presentations run, but even if 20 minutes were spent on Vita it would be better then what SCEA gave it.

I think Vita has a much better shot at getting some love from gamescom then it did at E3 considering almost all of the major support coming from the system is coming from Europe, and Japan. It also helps that (love him, or hate him) Shahids team is SCEE, and atleast in Shahids case his job seems to be a focus on signing content for the Vita primarily.

Jak & Daxter Collection hit $20 MSRP if anyone's interested. I still wouldn't bite at this price since the game looked unplayable to me, but to each his own.

Ok now i'm really worried :(
To scea's people giving more than a minute for vita games would make a conference vita focused :(

Anyone ever expecting Sony to place a greater emphasis on their handheld over their flagship consoles is asking for disappointment. However, a focus on PS4 does not automatically mean that SCEE will ignore the Vita in the same way that SCEA did, this is more true when you consider that SCEE has a team that has been putting a strong focus on signing devs to work on Vita games.

With SCEE you have people who regularly talk about the system, talk about bringing developers to the platform, and actually spend allot of time playing games on it, with SCEA you get "Vita? Lol, remote play." The moment Levine made that tweet about Bishock Shahid jumped on it when the guy is pretty much begging SCEA to do something.

I kind of wonder if it would do any good to send a message to Randy Pitchford about Borderlands Vita since he was doing the same thing and SCEA ignored it. I would die laughing if Shahid got SCEE approval to sign both of them.

SCEA didn't ignore them, Adam Boyes himself has met with both Randy Pitchford and Ken Levine.

Interesting I had not heard about that. Only that after Levine tweeted about the game Shahid sent him a request asking him to get in contact.

Pitchford I had not heard anything about for awhile othet than he wanted Sony to help get it going. Take 2 is supposed to be going to gamescom, but even if anything is being done I doubt either would be ready to show until sometime next yeat at the earliest.

Still, at this point SCEE seems more interested in supporting the Vita as a standalone platform then SCEA does. At least from a public view, Adam boyes has rarely said two words about the system.

dont forget the vita and a bunch of games boys sent to notch that is probably collectig dust now because mohjng is clearly not porting minecraft to playstation hardware

They cant until their exclusivity deal is up with MS, Notch told people to be paitent when asked about "other platforms". That does not quite garuntee a dedicated Vita version though obviously, it will most likely end up on PS4 reguardless of that.

Id take some scrolls on Vita to be honest, game is awesome.

Minecraft came out on 360 more than a year ago.

Why would Notch even humor the idea of talking about other platforms if their agreement wasn't near expiration? By 2014 or 2015 Minecraft may not even be a thing anymore.

Ask him, he was the one talking about it with people during E3 on twitter. People asked him about PSN versions, and he said that (and im paraphrasing) " im not sure I can even say this much reguarding other platforms, but paitence is a virtue". He also did not seem happy with the direction MS chose to take with their indie support, and presentation during E3.

Nothing is garunteed, but I doubt Minecraft is just going to die within a year.

Do we know they signed a new exclusivity deal. The designer talked about PS3/Vita versions in past. The way MS worded it in the conference made it sound like an exclusive version (i.e. with exclusive content or some such).

Well i won't be against borderlands on vita, trying won't hurt, i don't want a simple port though.

Man that was the dumbest and cheapest attempt of getting a million seller.

The ESRB makes mistakes on platform listings.
It's not as much ESRB making mistakes, as it is companies getting their games rated for any platforms they might decide to release on in the future. Adding an additional platform is easy and doesn't cost anything, while having it rated separately at a later date means starting the process anew.

I'm just assuming to be honest, but it seemed likely. Great news if it doesn't exist any more, but if that was the case I would have expected more talk about other versions.

Notch probably just threw it on his pile of money and then it got buried underneath it -__-

Sony doesn't need to beg such developers for VITA ports, especially when they are known to be bound by some exclusivity contract.

Catching up on the past couple of pages - this looks pretty nice actually! Surprised no-one else responded to you - probably because you didn't include screenshots ;)

And I think they do - Minecraft on Sony systems would be a huge get, and I'm sure they know it.

have there been any hints as to whats coming to PSN today?

really hoping for one of the big indie titles like spelunky or stealth inc or something

Is frozen synapse tactics different from frozen synapse. Because if not I have that on my nexus already.

yes, its seems to be 3D now, and the visuals resemble Frozen Endzone. the screenshot of Tactics is in this thread somewhere, and I cant link to it at the moment so you can search for Frozen Synapse Tactics screenshot if you like.

oh and BTW picked up Sonic Racing and its frickin awesome!

already becoming one of my favorite vita games, so much nostalgia for a Sega fan!

and i like it as much as mario kart, so nice to have an alternative to that game!

Occasionally there are surprises, but you can generally find out what's coming next store update by listening to the PlayStation Blogcast on Thursdays (or checking PSNStores.com Sneak Peek weekly post which gets updated with the titles from the Blogcast).

Stealth Inc. has been confirmed for next week, as part of the PSN Play promotion. Spelunky is apparently still being worked on, and doesn't have a date yet.

Consider this post extreme port begging. We all do it; it seems like being a Vita owner (plus Sony’s recent approach) a free pass to hope, discuss and wish for titles to come to our beleaguered handheld.

These posts will be a little selfish – things that I think look a bit cool – but I’m not just chucking any random shit in here. What would suit the Vita? What does the Vita need? What genres does it need to cover? These are the questions I’m asking myself while exploring promising titles from Kickstarter to fully fledged, released titles.
Feel free to add, suggest, and discuss some of the stuff here.

preview-logo-dark.jpg

I’m on the fence with Kickstarter; a lot of promises, a lot of hyperbole but, so far, not a huge amount to show for it. Some of the successful PC Kickstarters are starting to bear fruit, so there’s cause for optimism. We know that Sony are looking into adding PS4/Vita as stretch goals on a number of projects (one or two I’ll address in this post) so why not a few more? Here’s a list of fully funded, or currently being pitched titles that I think might be a good fit.

Need Funding

Liege

I know this was posted earlier - but here it is again in case some of you missed it. This has already been approved by Sony and has added a PS4/Vita stretch goal already.

“Story, Tactics, and Art. A modern re-imagining of the classic 16-bit RPG.”

Legend of Iya

Gorgeous art, wonderful animation and it scratches that genre itch.

It feels like we’re constantly discussing two genres in this thread; roguelikes and metroidvanias. We have Spelunky coming shortly, with one or two others to satisfy the first, but I’ve been dying to play a good Metroidvania since, well, Metroid Prime. (Hyperbole – Guacamelee was pretty good too.)

“An epic metroidvania adventure built of beautiful pixels.”

Satellite Reign

aff56b27a62a0f93e6090db733af8715_large.jpg

This is more of a “Oh please based Shahid I don’t even know if the Vita could run it but it looks fucking awesome” type of pitch.

What I said before about the two genres we discuss being roguelikes and metroidvanias? Yeah well, include strategy in it as well! Because this looks and sounds wonderful, and in an age where we chuck shit loads of money at boring point and click games, this has been neglected – get on it Sony. Thank me later.

“A real-time, class-based strategy game, set in an open world cyberpunk city, from the creator of Syndicate Wars.”

Monochroma

I know what you're thinking "But Moobabe; another stylised platformer? I'm tired of this bullsh.." Well, shut up and listen! “Limbo meets Ico” is how it’s described in the pitch video, and it looks pretty remarkable. No written words, no spoken words, nothing.

"A cinematic puzzle platformer about being a kid and caring for a little brother in a chilling 1950s dystopia."

Stonehearth

b251f52376ba74bd795e27095a4ee4b0_large.png

The final Kickstarter game for this post, and the only one fully funded. We need to realise we might not be getting Minecraft any time soon on our system. Does it suck? Maybe. But it also gives other titles a chance to shine. Like this one;

"A sandbox strategy game with town building, crafting, and epic battles!"

The aesthetic of Minecraft just on a grander scale, and with co-op and PvP this could be perfect for a #YOPO type of deal.

This is just the beginning though. I'm gonna put a lot of time into these sorts of posts over the coming week, looking into Greenlight, titles already on Steam etc If someone wants to help out, send me suggestions etc then by all means do! Especially when it comes to iOS titles which I know very little about.

Again - I'm hoping the point of these threads will be to inspire discussion about what titles we not only want to see on Vita, but what titles would be a good fit. So do some research, do some exploring, there's some amazing games out there that could benefit from having the exposure of being on a Sony system, and we may even find "the next Minecraft" in the process.

Happy hunting!

There are flash versions of Doodle God, google it if you want to try the game before to buy it. It's a puzzle game. You start with basic elements (water, earth, fire, etc...) and you have to combine them to discover new elements which you'll use then in new combinations. The goal is to discover every element. Very basic but fun.

I'm playing Kung Fu Rabbit these days (I'm 1 trophy away of the 100%). It is a nice platformer/puzzle game. Very easy at the beginning but it can be quite challenging at the end. There are 80 relatively short levels. When you finish a first time the game, you unlock hard version of this levels.

I don't know the 2 other games
