How come ChrisG sucks so bad against Chris Redfield
Because it only takes one Magnum confirm or him setting up Lethal Lava Land to make the entire cast look low tier.

I think $10 is too low for entry fees nowadays, personally.
The problem is that it's $10 per game, so if someone wants to have fun and play in a game they like plus 5-6 games they are only okay at, like Smedwicks did, a price increase ramps up fast.
With that in mind, doing $10 per game, and then a deal where you can pay $50 to get into as many games as you want, might actually generate more revenue.
ChrisG to win EVO 2k14 confirmed then. Its interesting to note that Viscant, FChamp and Flocker world champions of MVC3/UMVC3 are/were all Phoenix players at some point.
Who's the Infrit this year?
I think it's Cloud

Does anyone know if there's a place to view the opening trailer before each of the grand finale? The only one I saw was ssf4 arcade edition
Increasing the entry free only benefits the handful of people who have a chance at winning a tournament, and whatever increase you make will just be negated by the amount of people you will lose in entrants.
he Marvel one was boss
1st time Red Rapper actually delivered.
Some sadder non-EVO related news; Starbase Arcade, where the weekly IPW streams used to be held, is closing after 30 years

Cuz...guns
and there are no Chris' in NYC/NJ area.
Fanatiq let go from AGE?
Maybe he can use a controller that doesn't suck now.

Pertinent to the "FGC needs bigger sponsors" conversation:

Doesn't mean a lot but it's nice to know that bigger sponsors are taking notice. I think it's more than possible for Evo to land a biggish sponsor for next year.
People are already spending hundred of dollars to go to EVO. An increase in entry fees by $10 will make little difference. You'll probably lose a few entries from people who enter games they don't play but that's about it.
That wasn't Red Rapper. It was this guy.

welp, that explains it.
By Infrit I meant the easy bracket part.
nvm looked at the brackets.
Forgot he beat rayray and Ranmasama
Infrit beat FChamp once too. And Infrit played extremely well that year as well.i was gonna say, I dont think Cloud is in that Classification. besides, he beat FChamp, and he played really smart throughout his games.
Think you can place in the money? Thats the spirit. Evo awards cash prizes to the top eight places at a rate proportional to the number of attendees. Ten dollars from the registration fee of each participant will go into a tournament prize pool, which will be awarded to the top finishers at a 60/18/8/4/3/3/2/2 split. For example, if 300 people enter a tournament, the total prize pool for that tournament will be $3000 ($300 x 10), paying out $1800 to first place (60% of $3000), $540 to second place (18% of $3000), and $240 to third place (8% of $3000), and so on.

Not sure where the updated cash prizes info are located other than what has been said on twitter.

Sign up for the GG/P4A/BB tournaments people!
Oh, I'm actually changing the prize for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +.
Instead of the Guilty Gear Isuka Original Soundtrack, it's gonna be this Guilty Gear Original Sound Collection.

Is the beach this week? I think Itachi should make the thread. Or Chindogg.
SF4. Easiest to pick up by a mile.Okay guys, Evo hype got to me. I want to try to get into fighting games. I have pretty much no experience with them besides Smash. What's a good game to start with? I would prefer to play on the PC, but I do have a 360. I don't have a membership for the 360, but I wouldn't be opposed to paying for one if something like Marvel is really worth it.
I know Skullgirls comes out for PC next month, which I want to try, but I don't know what to play right now. Any advice?
