What happens when DLC practices go too far? An indie developer makes a game that mocks the industry and its foibles, that's what! Defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl! But first you'll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing.

This was my first purchase of the sale and I really enjoyed it. I got a lot more enjoyment out of it than I thought I would. One of the cutest artstyles I've seen in awhile too. You basically collect coins to buy DLC and each DLC allows you to access more areas letting you collect more coins.

so I have been investigating UnEpic some more, and it appears the more you dig the more you uncover...

basically there are 3 versions of the game, well 4

3 official ones and they are all different (items to buy etc)

GOG, the one I own it has GOG specific stuff, like armour weapons

Steam, The vanilla version of the game

Website, the version he sells on his website, this version os the only one where you can earn credits for MP...

the 4th one is the pirated version, he says that version has some flaws (obviously no specifics)

I am not sure if that is just bravado though as the GOG version is DRM free..

So in closing, if you remotely have any interest in the MP side of things you really need to buy the version on his website

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words :) I can't share numbers, but Steam has been very good to the game. It's my preferred gaming platform, so it was a pleasure to finally bring it over.

Speaking of, is there a chance Dust comes to PSN as well? I ask only because I am holding off on purchasing it from Steam in hopes that it will.

You sure? I remember someone here saying it has MP too in the Steam version.

The Steam version has MP, but you can not earn credits to spend on the MP side of the Steam version

Ah, why would I care about that :p "I cant spend money on it F2P style? Noooooo."

Under the ocean sounds like a sidescroller Don't Starve from the description on OP, is it accurate? pid also sounds interesting. How long are each game? Which one should I buy since I only have enough for one game in my steam wallet and I don't plan to spend more.

QUBE feels very generic and bland compared to Portal. Still, it's an extremely competent puzzler. Fun and challenging in it's own right and well worth more than that price.

I actually found the visual design very appealing when I played the demo so I don't think that will be a problem.

When it turns off the lights somewhere around the halfway point it becomes more frustrating than fun.

Welp! I'll bear that in mind but given it's so cheap I do wish to play it so will try not to scream when I get to that point :).

Guys

GunCraft has just released... Imagine Minecraft with Guns!!!!

http://www.exatogames.com/Guncraft/

anyway, they have just been greenlight, but GMG are selling the game with a 30% discount

GMG30-LY2G6-UKDYY

and the devs have said all who buy will get a steam key when released
Unless this has changed massively since Groupees Be Mine 8 then it is NOTHING like Minecraft. A multiplayer and horde mode shooter is probably the furthest thing from Minecraft.

Yeah, I dont really have favourable impressions for it either.

I have discovered that Reus can be bought from the Humble Store for $5 and then activated on Stearn.

Did you just give me a reason to annoy people with this game for another 20 hours?

Nah, I think the people that do value my opinion got my message by now :p

Nice find, I bought it since 5$ < 5€ and I just needed a very little push.

Apparently people in the steam thread agree with your thinking. Thanks for mentioning that.

Also, I am quite surprised the OP didnt explode yet. Gonna add some more stuff now that I found in my backlog, to buy list or random sale list.

I see, weird as the Dev essential is touting MC in his Greenlight page

Yes, the game looks similar to Minecraft. Yes, our name has craft in it. No, we are not a rip-off, no, Mojang does not own the voxel genre, and no, modders could not easily make our game. Of the many, many hundreds of people who played our game at PAX, only 1 person walked away saying he did not enjoy the game

This thread is slowing down too much.

MORE SALES AND MORE GIVEAWAYS RAWR.

I'm still planning on my Gunpoint giveaway if this damned game does onsale.

Lets see how long these keys survive over here. In the main thread, it would already be gone.

Yeah that is pretty much it for UTO. Be aware that it is early days but it has a lot of potential.

Can anyone tell me if Puzzle Quest 2 is good for a completely casual gamer with no real skill but who enjoys puzzle games? I'm looking for an excuse to buy this for someone but they're not very good at complicated games. They do like Facebook games a lot.

Bought Orcs Must Die 2 today. I usually don't like tower defense games, but I enjoyed the first Orcs Must Die and after finishing Defender's Quest I'm in the mood to play a good hybrid of tower defense with something else.

I loved it, but once you finish the game, Nightmare mode is just that, a bloody nightmare

Mr. Robot - $2,49 (75% off)
oIApIpY.jpg

http://store.steampowered.com/app/20710/

You play Asimov, a humble serving robot aboard the spaceship Eidolon, where everything is going wrong a la System Shock: robot rebellions, crew hypersleep death, uppity artificial intelligences. Only, you're in an old school isometric 3D world, just like your sainted mother used to make back in the 1980s. Puzzles - challenging your mental and physical faculties, and occasionally even both - hamper your progress. And they're expertly, lovingly designed.

people please buy To The Moon i just finished it. such an amazing experience, what an incredible story. you really have to buy it.

seriously.

it will be the best 4 bucks you ever spend.

i'm not happy. why am i not happy? because you didn't buy to the moon. that why

BUY
TO THE MOON
NOW.

This guy is right to pester everyone about To the Moon. It's an absolutely wonderful short-story of a game that provoked an emotional response from me like few stories ever have.

I've been farming trading cards during the sale, and I have about $6.50 in my Steam wallet now (I give 0 fucks about badges and levels). I'm thinking of spending it on either Reus, Dust, or Papo & Yo.

Lunnye Devitsy (Lunar Bundle) - $1,24 (75% off)
aT464lT.jpg

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/26391/
While Lunnye Devitsy is not a recent release, this little gem from Boss Baddie deserves all the attention it can get, even now. Published a couple of years ago in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, this starry-eyed puzzle platformer for the PC takes gamers on an interplanetary expedition like no other. Dripping with atmosphere, vast and interesting environmental design, innovative puzzles, beautiful and fitting soundtrack. Available in a pack with the game "Wake" for super cheap.

I have never heard of this game, but apparently I should give it a look.

Also, anyone who could write up a short blurb for A Valley without Wind 1 & 2?

I'm sure this was already posted, so I'll reiterate that for $1.24 Dungeons Of Dredmor is a great buy. A fun and funny roguelike that is worth the price.

Also, anyone who could write up a short blurb for A Valley without Wind 1 & 2?

A Valley Without Wind 1&2: Electric Boogaloo - $3.74 (75% off)

A Valley Without Wind 1 is what happens when you let someone who is completely batshit insane take on the metroidvania formula. The word massive can't even begin to describe it - a completely randomly generated world will continue to expand so long as you wish to progress in a direction. Traverse the lands with a mixture of fast platforming and a spellcasting system that is deeper than the rabbit hole appears. The dark side of this sheer glut of content is that after a while it becomes a pure numbers game and is powered simply by your will to continue.

A Valley Without Wind 2 takes the open ended nature of the first and tosses it to the wayside, instead wanting to concentrate on the strategy element which can be a huge negative if you were a fan of the platforming of the first. It tries a bit too hard to push way more on you at once, so your milage may vary.

The upside to this is that both are available with each other, so you can get both for the very cheap price of $3.74 and find out which one is more your speed. If you're able to get past the gaudy visuals, occasionally confusing subsystems and heavy reliance on your enjoyment of lootwhore-vania games, you should consider what AVWW1&2 have to offer.

Let me know if I need to edit it to sound a bit different
