All the evo hype got me to play smash again, though I'm playing brawl. Man, I never thought the game felt slow but in comparison to the stuff I saw there the difference is crazy. Otherwise, it really has me thinking what this will do to replace the SSE.
I was alright with the Adventure mode in melee, but I would really love to see something like that unique to each character.

Yep. Im buying both versions and think they both will be great but I know why the Wii U is getting more looks. Even graphically it must be the one they push it is an HD smashbros and it looks tremendous. They not just gonna have those pretty Wii U screens sitting in the back room. Plus a 3DS smash is new, let the push the traditional first. Relax. Everytime I come in here people complain about no 3DS screens..should be atleast a little satisfied they making a 3DS one.

It's just kind of obvious which is going to be released first at this point, not to mention which one will obviously be superior.
I'm a Smash fanboy, and I'm going to be buying both for sure- that's not even a question. But I don't see a big deal about him not showing the 3DS version this early lol, what would he be lying about or hiding at this point. I doubt the lack of 3DS screens is something to be concerned about, with the Wii U woes, they were probably instructed to get that version out first. Who knows?

On a side note, Lucario and Mewtwo can co-exist so I don't see any reason to get rid of Lucario *shrugs*

Agreed. We could be simply waiting for a Wii U version, but we're getting two near-simultaneous releases for two quite different Smash Bros. games. It's incredible, and it's probably never gonna happen again. Heck, while we're counting our blessings, consider that when Brawl was announced, we got a whole lot of NOTHING for a loooong time before the Dojo started doing its updates. This time we had updates starting the week after E3. We're not entitled to what we're getting, so try to value that over what you think you should be getting. Smash fans are really lucky to get some small tidbit about our games on a daily basis, while most other games in development post updates every now and then. I, for one, am eating up every morsel and loving it.

usually Smash has 4 slots for Pokemon like i said. they can make it 5 and add Mewtwo back in with Lucario, i dont care. Lucario was fine, i just like Mewtwo more.
We might see a bigger roster for Pokemon. Brawl technically got 6 condensed into 4 slots, but it was also planned to have Mewtwo and apparently a dual Pokemon slot (I forgot their names). I think it's realistic to expect Mewtwo and Lucario to make their return. Also helps that they're not really all that similar outside of that sphere move.

Given the game's pace, is the clipping that much of an issue? Also, it would seem that the game is probably a year away from release, so I would expect there's time to polish such aspects.

SSBM - 15 characters (14 slots)
SSBB - 25 characters (21 slots)

Sakurai has already been on record saying how hard it is to implement a single character. I know he has a larger team this time, but he makes it sound as if he rather spend more time polishing the game than just adding more characters.

I have a feeling that if Snake is cut Sonic will be as well, I'm thinking Sakurai won't like it to seem like he's playing favorites. But this is a shot in the dark.

I'd like to see the next character select to have a visual representation of the character model like in the original, I really liked that. Have the select images also be a bit "longer" instead of squared boxes so we can get some slight more close-up of the renders. I'm thinking King of Fighters XIII in a sense.

Have you seen competitive brawl at all? it's not nearly as fast, but it's way faster than the level I see most friends playing it at. It's just a lot more defense based and usually not as flashy.
And after all these years, I finally put melee back in and conquered wave dashing. It's weird how easy it seems now.
