I think he'd work fine as long as they use the Pac-Man from Tilt/Party and not the show.
The differences are subtle but you'd be surprised how not creepy Tilt/Party Pac-Man is.

i think its his mouth, new one is way too big and wide, and his eyes are way more open.

Even the ghosts are pretty different in Tilt/Party. I think I like the show versions of these better actually.

He's very creepy in these. Tilt/Party looks so tame compared to those.
It's going to be SOOOOOOOO weird, but I'm ready to embrace the difference. Perhaps it'll help it feel more fresh.
Is Pacman an android of some sort? He looks like he can be taken apart in those pics of his new design.

I saw Bill Trenon yesterday and had nice little conversation with him. Though it was only after walking away from him did think to ask him about Sakurai and Smash Bros. Though honestly it would have been a selfish request to tell Sakurai that Ridley is one of the most popular characters requested for Smash.

Cause Sakurai has class. Hopefully he chooses the right Marth and Mewtwo designs as well. Don't make me question your taste Sakurai...
I am pretty confident we will get classic Marth, but if Mewtwo returns, who knows what kind of monstrosity we are in for.
The way he emphasised that only classic Megaman would do leads me to believe he's consider the same with Pacman. However Namco may insist that Pacman's look must reflect his current design in which case a conflict in interest may just result in him not appearing.

The addition of teeth and eyelids is a step too close to pretending he is a human, and subsequently contributes significantly to him looking like an axe murderer. And not the cute kind like Villager.

Nintendo only accepted Classic Megaman. If Pacman is in, it'll be Classic Pacman. Sakurai prefer no Pacman than shitty redesign Pacman

They've never "ignored" the IP per say, they just don't want to make a Mother 4.
Isn't it the case that Itoi doesn't want to write anymore Mother games and basically Mother without Itoi is not Mother at all.
Doesn't really matter what the rest of Nintendo thinks.
