Wait, what's going on with Boss Doggie, exactly? Did someone mention Dreamworks or something?

Also, severe disappointment if that is not Villager's final smash.

How big is the possibility of Toon Link returning anyway? It's high because he has a remake coming in, but will they push Tetra? I guess they can make her unique in that she isn't "princess-y" like Zelda.

You got on his case for not wanting the Mewtwo Forme in the first place.

It's mostly the Lucario that triggered it actually. Add that to the "let's remove Smash characters" stuff.

Well, I'm used to this with him and any non-conforming Dreamworks opinion, but it's a shame he has to take this stuff to this thread.

Eh it's more to do with Pokemon than anything else really :P

If you've been to the fandom you know the whole shebang. You'd be surprised how tame I am outside of that!

To be honest, I'm with Boss Doggie on the whole New Form of Mewtwo thing. All he did was point out really pointless things with the design, when you can do that to almost anything. "Kirby is shit, he looks like a pink testicle with facial features, hands and feet."

I for one, like the new Mewtwo form, and I don't care which one gets in, if any. It's Mewtwo still and that's that.

On the topic of Toon Z/S, probably not gonna happen. Honestly. I doubt Toon Link will be in. Clones need to be eliminated or changed enough to not be clones.

I'd rather have a Tekken character than new Pac-Man. That's how much I hate it.

This is the type of passive behavior that allowed Snake's entry to the Smash universe. Tekken's Nintendo history is weak and would be one of the worst options for a Namco representative regardless of how awful aryan Pac-Man may be.

Pizza-Man with extra cheese, hold the anchovies.

I feel like a Pacman stage would be way more entertaining than an actual playable character.

Replace Pac-Man with Tetris and I would agree.

Keep in mind that Pac-Man would potentially be dot blocking some awful Tekken character.

I'm totally down with this guy. They took a classic approach with Mega Man, so I'm counting on them doing the same with Pac-Man, although it's probably Namco's call in the end. Also, I'm secretly hoping they'll do the same with Sonic and use something along the lines of his "classic" generations design:

A few things.

Sega said sonic generations is kind of it. They like new sonic, they like his friends, they think using old sonic would be going back on what they have done, the good and the bad. Classic sonic is long gone.

It is namco's decision, also New Pacman literally has sneakers and blue eyes, its the same damn thing.

And I am assuming they would want to promote their newer games... so yeah.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's tough to deny any of those things. I was just kind of thrilled by the direction they decided to take with the Mega Man design, and was hoping they'd follow suit with the others, since the whole reason for their inclusion seems to be their classic-ness.

Also, what is Sakurai's caption for today's image? No Wii U, so I can't view it on Miiverse.

Eh classic is variable for some, Lank sonic is a lot of people's introduction to sonic so, that sonic is classic for them.I think they wen't with OG megaman for a few reasons.

OG megaman along with Zero, ZX, and EXE have a lot of reliance to nintendo consoles. OG megaman unlike OG sonic is still being used for things, well was anyway. Unlike Zero, ZX, EVE, or Starforce. And because OG megaman is still being used for things, he has " kind of sort of" ( we can argue if megaman is actually relevant to anything later) Icon status. While X and Zero would be fun, they jumped ship around 4. For some reason Capcom does not wish to really acknowledge X right now. I guess because Zero was supposed to be the star in the first place. And Volnutt is in tastunoko vs capcom, and hasn't really been relivant to anything.

You know what would be awesome? If they allow custom soundtracks. I would make SO much use of that feature.

I want to play the Spirit Tracks stage while listening to this music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIzRT2q84oU

While that would be lovely I just predict a plethora of music and allow us to either

- like brawl pick the frequentness of the music assigned to each stage

- let us just put music on anything provided its already in the game

Also, realize that Sakurai LOVES to line these things up so it looks like objects are interacting in ways that they actually aren't. It could just be Villager jumping while the Gyroid flies underneath him. No guarantees. Ever vigilant.

Easily, Bayonetta.

Is it bad that I would take Bayonetta over Pac-Man? I didn't really care for Sonic when I heard he was included in the last game, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't compare to my contempt towards the possibility of Pac-Man being a character in Smash. If they do include him, I hope they really surprise me with his moveset and playstyle.

Not really, since everyone have different preferences in the characters. Honestly, I really want to see Snake, Sonic and Mega Man to be in the game so Pac-Man is just a bonus to me.

The stage Gyroid and Villager Gyroid have completely different textures and models, so I doubt it's some kind of stage hazard. It might be Villager's neutral air attack where the Gyroid spins around out of control, hitting on both sides -- tons of characters have "spin" attacks for their neutral aerials.

Villager's pose suggests he's jumping possibly over, or on top the gyroid.

Clipping also suggests he may be jumping and the model's are just coinciding or he's on it, just badly done.

But we've seen Villager's jump animation, and it doesn't look anything like that. Also, I don't see any clipping.

Tell me again how different they are. I see slight differences, but not enough to make me think they're not meant to be the same Gyroid.
