Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Tell me again how different they are. I see slight differences, but not enough to make me think they're not meant to be the same Gyroid.
So you think a Gyroid is going to burst off the stage and gain sharper textures and rounder geometry in the process?

Nope, I think it's a game in development, and that Gyroids come in so many different forms that it's highly unlikely for there to be any reason to include two that look exactly alike when a simple texture swap will do. I'm not going to claim to have any idea how the Gyroid works in either of those pics, but he looks like the same guy in two different spots to me.

The villager's version is more detailed. The left one's top looks a bit blocky, the eyes and mouth and chin are pixilated compared to the right one too.

One is meant for distant background viewing, thus warranting lower quality resources. The other is a part of the actual battle (Villager's move set) and needs to look better because of it. I don't know which attack it is, but it's clearly not the stage Gyroid.

You can tell theres more Polygons in the one villager is riding, and obviously higher res texture.
I'm thinking it's his Up-B

Yeah, I mean I see all of that and agree, but why make it the same Gyroid? There's like a billion different types.

Also, I asked this earlier but don't think it ever got answered: What's Sakurai's Miiverse caption on today's image?

Or, the game's in development and the textures etc. on the gyroids will be altered before release? We're well over a year until release anyway.

Since when do gyroids blast off?
They don't, which is why it's more likely that Sakurai "invented" that to fill out one of the Villager's move slots versus a Gyroid randomly rocketing around the stage as a hazard. I'm sure this new Smashville will be another peaceful stage like the one in Brawl and won't have stage hazards at all.

Having a flying gyroid would be an... odd choice in any circumstance. Maybe the Gyroid is an item or AT that can be picked up and thrown like Bonsly in Brawl?

Is there any gameplay of the villager? If his jump animation doesn't ever look like the position he is in in the picture then you can come to a conclusion with more certainty...

Def a move

The only gameplay we've seen of him was from the developer direct which didn't reveal terribly much, mostly just clarified on stuff from the reveal video.

Since the Spirit Tracks level is exclusive to the 3DS version, could we still get a Macbeth StarFox 64 level on Wii U

The fact there's a Gerudo Valley stage in SSB3DS, despite OoT originally being a console game, makes me think any Star Fox 64 representation will take its cues from the -3DS- remake.

Yeah, one definitely has better textures, which makes sense since it would be closer to the camera. Makes me think either a move or item.

I don't see the Gyro being an item that lets you fly around considering that has nothing to do with the thing. It makes much more sense to stretch it to do that for a character themselves.

If anything I would think it's more likely the Balloon Fight thing the villager was shown with before is an item instead of an up b.

It could easily be an up-b that changes the gyro each time as there's a shitload of types. Would have some randomized effect on how good his recovery is.

Giving the "Balloon Fighter" animation with the arms flapping to every single character would really be a lot of effort wasted for just one item. I'm fairly certain its for Villager only.

Nah even with the developer direct Sakurai didn't "feature" most of his moves.

Stick swing (u-tilt), pot drop (running), umbrella (s-tilt), slingshot (air move), pull weeds (d-tilt), fireworks (u-smash), shovel/dig (d-smash), tree-plant (d-special), and bowling ball (s-special?). All just guesses, but we have seen quite a few of his moves already.

Oh, and I'm just guessing about the controls for those moves.

That's what I mean. Compared to Megaman and WFT who seemed to have more "definite" moves in the video at least.

I wonder where the watering can and axe are mapped. Maybe they replace the down special after planting the sapling (if it is down special), though I can see the axe being side special on it's own.

Also have I mentioned how much I love the daily photo thing? Not an overabundance of information like the dojo but just enough shown to cause speculation and hype. So delicious.

Standard - Grab Item
Side - Shovel
Up - Balloons
Down - Plant Tree

I'm almost positive that's correct.
I think the shovel might actually be his Down Smash, and the Gyroid rocket is his Side Special. Other than that, though, that move set looks about right to me!

It'd be cool if he had a charge-up projectile wherein he stuffs a bag full of bells and then throws it at someone. At max charge it can be a 99k bell bag.

What about his Item Grab? I assume it'd be like Mr. Game & Watch's Oil Panic, which was Down+B & acts similar. Though making it Side+B would make sense as well

I was thinking shovel was neutral-B, balloons was up-B, bowling ball was down-B, and tree/axe was side-B. I dunno.
You're forgetting his item pick up. I really don't think the bowling ball will be a special move -- Sakurai said those are meant to embody the flavor of a character, and bowling has nothing/very little to do with Animal Crossing. It looks like a tilt or smash attack to me.

I hope it's down B to keep consistent with G&W, and the EB/Starfox character's absorb/reflects.

Shovel seems like down smash to me.
