And that is why they stopped using melee fox. Mutha fucka had corgie face.

I know this has probably been pointed out but they're using the "smooth" Pikachu design this time around, removing all charm he once possessed.

Gross.

I don't know, but look at this:

Disgusting.
Reminds me Brawl when they used the new Fox. Downgrades are bad.
qq knows what I'm talking about. It doesn't matter I guess, no one else can see it.His face does look kind of weird to be honest.
EDIT: Yeah, his face is really flat for some reason.
This is your opinion, but I don't really see what the thing is about Pikachu. This is waaaay better than that chubby Pikachu we used to have.
Oh god.
Him and Bowser were pretty weird in Melee.
Jezz that looks bad.
That smooth Pikachu thing has meme potential
Haters gonna hate on the new pikachu. I just love the look of the lighting on him, regardless of his new face.

I'm just surprised people can be so nitpicky over such minor changes.
He has chubby arms? OH NOOOOOO
It kinda reminds me of people who got upset that Mario had actual denim on in Brawl or Fox's overall redesign going from Melee to Brawl. It's like "what, seriously?"
Pixelated Pikachu?What is a non-smooth (sharp?) Pikachu?
That would be awesome.I think a Monster Hunter should be in. Plethora of weapons and a lot of moves would make him a solid fighter.
I think Melee Fox and Falco were the best designs they've had in any of the games they've been in

So hyped for this.
SF643D should be the default look for all SF characters.

I think we can all agree that the worst offender is Kirby. They really should have left him the way he looked in Melee. How anyone can like the new updated "improved" Kirby is beyond me. Just way too much downgraded details and smoother features, he should be chubbier and have more details added to his hats. Truly, he is unrecognizable at this point.
I'm really not digging the game's visual, it looks so... whatever.
I hope Sakurai is giving this game AAA treatment, if he is tired he better go take several seats, and if Iwata wants this game to be finished soon, fuck him too. Smash Bros 4 could've looked a lot better than this.
To be honest, pretty much every Nintendo game for Wii U looks like ass, except for Mario Kart (lol?).
I'm not trying to start shit here, so just ignore me, lol.
We can all agree that new Bowser is sexiest Bowser, yes?
12/10
Citizen Kane of post.
Just because blobchu isn't a nostalgic design doesn't mean it isn't a better design.
Looks more like canon Pikachu and less like shitty anime Pikachu.
His face is so flat that it looks weird. Nothing resembling an animal there. But hey, it must be nostalgia.
edit: I'm not sure what that means, DaBoss.

Well you're saying Pikachu's face doesn't resemble an animal at all, I just find that funny. I can't see what you're seeing basically.
It's definitely a preference. You can like the new one and I'll like the old one for the reasons stated. Not every design needs more 'thought' put into it.
This is why Rare characters are so tasteless.
Why does it need to look more like an animal? Yoshi is a good example; the less he looks like a dinosaur the better his design is getting.

What about games that have been already released huh?! I want my inevitable Marth/Chrom/Lucina reveals already!
I seriously can't tell the difference between those two different (?) designs beyond one being lower poly and fatter.
Totally off topic from the Pikachu discussion, but I really hope they fix the proportions on Wario. He's one of my mains and I really hated the fact he looked like some super short stubby little creature....THIS is how he's supposed to be stacked....
http://www.gamehiker.com/wiki/images/thumb/a/ac/Wario.jpg/250px-Wario.jpg
not this short armed nonsense from Brawl.....
http://www.all-nintendo.com/IMG/jpg/wario_super_smash_bros_brawl_0.jpg
Also heres a size comparison of how tall he actually should be. In Brawl he was like shorter than Mario when he should be taller
http://www.mariowiki.com/images/3/36/Size_chart.jpg
Here, we see Wario is a tad shorted than DK, with average length arms and his legs are a little longer (although you cant really see cause Petey Pirahna is in the way)
I hope they make him more anatomically correct in relation to the games cause this is ridiculous

Actually no. Brawl wario is correct wario, he is fat with big arms and stubby legs, ware is incorrect. He is shorter than Mario.

Wario looks fine in Brawl, it's more how he's animated. Dude looks like a human Mr. Game & Watch when instead he should be one of the most fluidly cartoony characters. I know it's supposed to be a tribute to Ware (even though he doesn't move like that in those games either, but whatever just roll with it) but it was still jarring to see him feel so 'off' while Diddy Kong was nearly pixel perfect to a set of games a Microsoft first-party studio made nearly 20 years earlier.Totally off topic from the Pikachu discussion, but I really hope they fix the proportions on Wario. That picture you posted pretty much is how he's supposed to look regardless of Brawl. His arms are longer and his legs are still stubby but long enough for him to not look as short

The lack of any real Land/World references or a shoulder-barge (<3 Project M for this) is totally ridiculous as well. Hope Ware kind of falling a lot in popularity lately forces Sakurai to start acknowledging the other half of the character.
