Crysis spoils everybody though. Most next-gen games aren't 'wowing' me like I thought they would due to some games maxed out on PC looking fairly comparable.

I don't know why they don't stylize the Pikmin dirt/ground textures a little more. Having it be smoother like cartoon dirt would look 100x better.

I mean, I am impressed with the detail they've got on Olimar's model. But it does make a for a little bit of a weird screenshot o' the day.

Hah that would be something. They can make great assists. Nowi would appear, turn into a dragon and start blasting everyone with fireballs. Tharjar would follow the character around very closely and attack opponents after you initiate the "battle" kinda like in awakening. She could always jump in to protect you from attacks but it would have to be based on some type of percentage so it wouldn't be too cheap.

Every time Ganondorf shows up in one of these games without a completely unique moveset I get angry. The primary villain from the Legend of Zelda series, second only to Mario in Nintendo prominence, is a ripoff of fucking Captain Falcon. It boggles the goddamned mind. There is SO much potential with that character, WASTED!

They import the models and use the same textures as the source material (unless it isn't found in the game or really old), so it isn't surprising the Pikmin 3 stage doesn't have great ground textures.
Though really, it isn't a problem when playing the game since it isn't going to be that zoomed in.

I honestly don't even mind the rest of the clones, those characters are all fairly similar. It's just the G D GD. I can almost deal with it in Melee since I gotta imagine all of the clones were clones for time constraint reasons. But when you plan him into another game from the start as a clone STILL? NOPE.
I am about 80% sure he'll still be one in these new games too. I just can't wrap my head around it. Sometimes Sakurai makes me cra-zay.
I got faith this time because Sakurai seems to be fine with revamping characters outside of like one new move or something.
And has more time and people.

The Olimar pic isn't random. Imagine if it was the end of a SSB-style trailer and he was walking along with the shot framed like that. You're supposed to think "Ohhh it's Olimar!" and then it cuts to Olimar in a cool pose or something, full body shot. It's meant to be a pre-reveal shot as evidenced by its absence on the official Olimar page.

The only thing we're getting so far are non eventful pictures so I doubt you need to black out this soon.

I imagine all the new stuff would be revealed in a Nintendo Direct.

besides, my enjoyment of Brawl barely improved by avoiding all the info, not worth it missing out on all the dojo fun imo
About the clones, I'm positive that this time they'll be gone for real:
- Toon Link - It's basically gone already, with Spirit Tracks' Link being in the stage.
- Lucas - Was basically there just because of Mother 3 being still relatively recent.
- Luigi - With Luigi's Mansion 2 just out, it would be a crime if he wasn't revamped with a Poltergust moveset in mind.
- Wolf - Three clones with the same moveset... remind me again why was he there in first place?
- Ganondorf - Needs to be de-clonified, seriously, how can the villain of one of the main Nintendo series be a clone of C.Falcon?
- Falco - Maybe he'll be the sole exception, I don't see him going away after two games, yet Sakurai probably won't bother giving him new moves.
Though he scrapped, Dr.Mario, Pichu and Roy for Brawl, didn't he?

I wouldn't call Luigi a clone as such, but if even if he IS, he's still relevant as Mario and Luigi have always been a similar team unlike say Link and Toon Link.
