Yeah, I'm pretty sure he'll be Ike's replacement since he'll represent Awakening. Part of me hopes Ike will stay along with Marth, but as long as Chrom plays well, I won't be too disappointed in Ike not returning.
Why not? Palutena is shown to fight more in Uprising than Zelda ever did, so....
She would be lowering herself to our level to fight. I feel like she far too I dunno powerful just to be some playable character, she demands more respect than that. Same with Hades, He should be a like a boss or something.
I wouldn't mind if she was playable, but that is how I feel.

I don't think it means anything. Lots of characters seem to be lacking voices so far.
I don't see themselves limiting character choices to boring guys like Magnus just because of canon abilities, if anything it makes her a more interesting character because she would be able to do more crazy shit.

In MVC3 you can fight and play as the hulk, against normal humans.
You will never be able to fight and play as galactus. BECAUSE HE IS FUCKING GALACTUS, and not ment to be trifled with.
He is presented as a big scary huge thing that is ment to be feared, while palutenia isn't scary she is in fact a god, one I do not see getting involved squabbles like smash bros. That is what pit is for.

I never said he was a "normally chosen" playable character. Just that he's playable. Which he is.

But it's Smash Bros. A game where you can have the Villager from Animal Crossing beat Ganondorf in a fight and pick up Samus' charged shot. How does that not kill your whole presentation problem?
Also, this is Palutena we're talking about. A character who is constantly breaking the fourth wall and making jokes about video games, blogs, and other things that make no sense in the setting they're in. Is it really silly to see her or any other character from a game like Uprising, where even during the most serious parts there are character breaking the fourth wall and making jokes, fighting in a game like Smash Bros.?

Well, if they decide to get rid of Ike in favor of chrom, It'd be a waste of a moveset, so I see Magnus as the best contender for Ike's Moveset.
Personally, i'd like to see Ike return, but Magnus seems like a good fit for a moveset similar to Ike's.
Because gannondorf and palutenia are not presented the same.
And the bottom, yes yes it is, she reminds me of Genie from aladdin. I do not want genie playable I want genie saying hilarious shit while I fight. I want a stage where palutenia and hades just talk shit about everyone and become stage hazards. There omnpitant 4th wall breaking nuts, let them mess shit up while people fight.

This stage looks great! Though I'm wondering if its a scrolling stage. When we were given shots of the Mario stage with Peach's Castle I knew that was a scroller long before we got confirmation. Though with this stage having a clear edge at its apparent start its probably just too big for the 3DS to show all at once while Pit and Fox are in those spots.
They can make Palutena playable and still have that. They did it with Snake and the Star Fox characters.
That is a good point.
However I think that should be the end of it besides boss battles. Again if she is playable I wouldnt really mind though.

You also haven't addressed why it's okay to play as Thor and Amaterasu but not Palutena. Dancing around something isn't going to make it go away.
