Indie Bundle Thread - There's another one?

I really dislike how the bundles are all over the place...
let me explain

Situation A - One key of an entire series
e.g. Painkiller: Overdose, Spellforce Platinum
If you redeem it and end up buying the series bundle on Steam, you just wasted one code.

I guess this isn't as big a problem... I could just wait and see the other entries appear in other bundles... but I hate wasting codes, would be nice in a giveaway

Situation B - Bundle keys
You own all the games that is in the bundle key except one or two.
e.g. have all games except Stacking -> waste of DoubleFine Humble Bundle.
e.g. have all games except King Bounty: Crossworld -> waste of King Bounty Platinum

I guess I can't complain much... but I am really thinking it more along the lines of wasting games... I could have given the games to a friend who never played the series before, etc

People in the Steam thread tell me I'm crazy, but haven't the Bundle Stars always got a discount at the end of the sale?

The Bundle Stars "Select the amount of games you want" bundles always change their 2-games minimum purchase down to 1-game minimum, I'm sure of it, but I'm also sure that their regular bundle drops like 50% from time to time, doesn't it?

wow. The latest IndieGameStand offering is for King Arthur's Gold. "Pay at least $1 to be eligible to receive keys for this game (Steam, Desura, GOG) as they become available! Pay more than $1.55 to unlock this game's Bonus Content! Includes: Art & Design - digital booklet."

Check out the Beta Mini-Trailer HERE, and a Time-Lapse trailer of the game's WAR mode HERE.

From their description:
King Arthur's Gold (KAG), is a 2D cooperative war game played with up to 32 players. You can play as knight, archer or builder - with physics allowing the construction and destruction of medieval fortresses. KAG blends the creative aspects of Minecraft, the medieval strategy of Age of Empires 2, with fast class-based team-driven gameplay of Team Fortress 2, sprinkled with the extreme fun from the teams previous game - Soldat.

I was just about to pay $10 on the developer's own site for a special alpha price on their current beta. This is a brilliant deal. I am buying multiple copies tonight.

The "select the amount of games you want" bundles are from Groupees.
I think there were one or two bundles that came back after they already expired and were 50% off for a limited time, but with most of their bundles, the price never changes.

Every time I open this thread I buy a new game, jesus fuck....

Oh, groupees then. Maybe that's who I'm thinking off.

Bundle Stars always shows the price in Pounds, and I'm sure i've seen that price change from 3.24 to 1.80 somethings before. Maybe I am just crazy...

they made a mistake listing the games in the info mail, seems that one of the unlock games will be Aura: Fate Of The Ages

That's a pretty good bundle. eXceed 3rd is a fantastic shmup if you can handle the questionable character designs (although there is a mode where you don't see them as much). Love the music.

SPAZ was pretty good too from what I remember.

Do I need to buy it this week in order to get a discount during happy hour when buying as a gift? Or can I just wait until next week and get it at a discount without having to purchase anything now. Indie Gala FAQ is a little confusing.

I am kinda pissed right now. I bought the whole exceed collection on the last day of the Summer Sale :(

Never buy games unless you are gonna play them instantly

That sucks! I am actually happy now, because I had it in my cart at 11 o'clock and took it out to wait for a better discount! Are they pretty good?

As biased as this is going to sound (Check my profile for the reason). Yes. :P Well, at least 2nd and 3rd. The first is quite rough around the edges given it was their first in the series and were experimenting with a bullet scratch/tension mechanic that becomes essential to beat the ultra-strong bosses. It's geared towards the hardcore and has no mercy. Even on easy.

eXceed 2nd truly evolved things and has a dynamic rank system combined with a polarity switch mechanic similar to Ikaruga. Pretty damn solid and the rank makes it so that if things get too hard, it gives you a breather by adjusting the difficulty and providing better score extendes.

eXceed 3rd is the most accessible of the lot since it offers auto-bomb (essentially, like 3 lives per life) as well as life extends once you reach a certain item count. Easy mode IS easy too. If I cleared it on my first try with auto-bomb on, everyone can, the bullet patterns aren't near as dense as in other bullet hell shooters.

Ben There, Dan That and Time Gentlemen are really good point 'n click adventure games. Highly recommended them if that's your thing.

Would anyone here want to trade the Exceed games for Tomb Raider Anniversary and Underworld on Steam?

Can confirm, I did it here too.

Auto-bomb easy mode just makes the game far too easy in my opinion, maybe good for people who have never played any shooters before but I really think it should just be turned off.

There a new Humble Bundle weekly sale

Positech Games:
Democracy 2 (paying more than the average)
Gratuitous Space Battles
Gratuitous Tank Battles
Kudos 2.

How are these ones?

The Gratuitous battles games seemed good from the little I played, mostly played Space battles. It's a bit easy to get yourself lost initially, but it is a good game.

Democracy 2 can be fun.

How are the Gratuitous games in single player?

Also...are the Exceed games any good? I've been waiting a while for Oniken to come back up, so I'm getting that for sure.

I have average opinions on the first game. The second game shares a few things with Ikaruga, but without a lot of polish.

The third game is great, just make sure you play with autobomb off. There's a toggle if the character designs start to get on your nerves.

Aw, hell. May have to pass. Can't stand paypal and I have no idea wtf google payments is. Thought they had an amazon option.

I don't think you have to make a paypal account to use the payments service. You can just enter your information and they will email you a receipt.

I'm in the mood for those kind of games lately, so I'll probably pick it up with They Breathe.

"Hidden Objects" is also a kind of game your parents/grandparents/wife can play. This is at least the people to whom I offer this kind of game.

Is that trainz simulator good at all? I sorta want a train simulator but am unimpressed with all the dlc and stuff from Train Simulator 2013. Makes the game seem more like a barebones hub than an actual game.

Bought Soulcaster II (+ Soulcaster and Escape Goat) off IGS, turn to register them with Desura and the keys for the Soulcaster games are expired. WTF?! I literally generated them ten minutes ago...has this happened to anyone else?

Escape Goat worked, but I already had that game from an earlier IndieRoyale so I just wasted the key testing. Ughhh.

Filled out MagicalTimeBean's contact form and Ian sent me fresh keys. Super cool of him, I really wasn't expecting to hear back that quickly since it's a weekend (and relatively late).

He said I wasn't the first person who's had issues, so I hope IGS and Desura are able to figure out the disconnect...

There's a new indie bundle with games developed in Poland

Odd Planet

I have to say all of them except for The Few look really interesting. I think I'll buy it.
