3DS Streetpass Experiences

We're going to the Zelda symphony in Baltimore on Saturday, hopefully that should be pretty good for hits?

It'll be GREAT

Only problem is you might struggle to get through your tags because you probably won't want to be keeping your 3DS open while the concert is in session. I would go early and plow through as many as you can before the show starts.

You might also want to enable skip greetings. You can't rate Miis in this mode but it'll get people through the gate faster. As for strategy.

Try to end the night with plaza open, 10 miis present and 10 in the queue (when you get home you can play with those 10 then hit the arrow and play with the queued ones). But during the concert, realistically you only have time for puzzle swap between the musical pieces. Possibly Warriors Way/Streetpass Battle if you choose to "do nothing".

This doesn't actually skip greetings... does it?
I had it turned on for a while and I was still greeting Mii's and seeing where they're from, what they're playing, etc.
I expected it to skip this entire process.

Really? That is so typical of Nintendo that it only skips the greeting text/mii rating...well it is less bubbles of text still...but not as few as I expected.

What is the criteria for getting a plaza voucher in the mansion game? I got one when I went up the stairs the first time but not the second.

There is a list of what vouchers you can get (and how) in the progress report. You can only get a voucher once. Some tasks have multiple ones such finding them in chests.

Speaking of which, I would imagine giving up on a game does not reset the coupons (otherwise you could get more coupons than rewards).

You can check the criteria for each game in one of the menu options but some in the mansion game are from finding tickets randomly in chests and laying down your 100th floor piece, etc. I think there might be some from spending gems on weapon upgrades too? I'm not able to check right now.

Ah, thanks! My next question was about the gems but they do upgrades do they? I should stop holding R and mashing A through the dialogue bits.

Yeah, at those green orb "Interdimensional box" things you can upgrade weapons by combining them, at the cost of gems. I've basically been upgrading the one weapon over and over. Combining two of the same weapon raises its max level too. I haven't encountered it yet but the weapons having different types (fire, ice, spark etc) implies that certain weapons won't work against certain enemies later.

You can convert unwanted items to gems, too.

I went to the Nintendo World store on the way home from work last night and got ten street passes (as expected). I live in NYC but I think it's been almost a year since I last went. I hadn't know about the '10 in line, 10 in the queue' trick until I read the details about it in this thread this morning. It's a shame as I easily could have gotten 20. I had seen the queue message come up before but I didn't know that it could hold an additional 10 street passes. Oh well, I know for next time.

Normally I check into the Mii plaza once I have ~4 street passes (every one or two days). It was pretty great to play through all the new games with 10 Miis.

A few random comments:

-Am I the only one who doesn't get Monster Manor? I see little excitement beyond trying to get all of the tickets and playing the puzzle-boxes when they appear. The session-to-session gameplay just isn't fun to me. I'm not really sure how I can play better or worse since so much of it is based around the randomness of the colors of your street passes. Additionally, I haven't had a single challenging ghost encounter. Do they get harder on higher floors? Each time I play I just lay down the color pieces that have been randomly presented to me which yield either chests or ghosts. The stuff in the chests has no meaning to me and the ghosts are not threatening.

-I continue to love Warrior's Way and I can't really explain why. With my Nintendo Worlds SPs I boosted my army from ~6,000-~12,000. It was also fun to encounter my first 'Monarchs from Afar'. One of them had ~600,000 troops! I was able to fight and beat the other two though which resulted in my greats troop boosts. I find this game so satisfying and I can't explain why.

I just wasted 75 coins trying to beat the final boss on warriors way. Hold me, gaf :(
Lol. How many troops does the final boss have?

Spent the day at the national mall on vacation in Washington D.C. today. Got 16 unique Street Passes (one from Tokyo). Record for me.

It will. I went to videogames live a few weeks ago and ended up with ~25 unique street passes and I waited until intermission to check them. Id bet you could get more if you go early and spend some time clearing them before the show starts.

Monsters Manor is only great for me because everyone that I streetpass with wears blue so I can literally just build these giant blue rooms filled with chests. Its awesome because I have so many weapons and got so many tickets from it.
Aside from that, I do agree that the gameplay side of things is pretty dull. Im on floor 5 (I think) and havent ran into a ghost that gave me a lot of trouble. Also, because Im stuck with that blue shirt situation, I hardly run into ghosts unless theyre the pre-set ones.

Its the numbers. Theres something about watching it grow and seeing your little army get bigger and bigger. Warriors Way is probably my favorite.

Lol. How many troops does the final boss have?

~530,000
It plays differently too. You cant ask for help and you cant spy. You have to send your army out 5 times and it works just like classic rock, paper, scissors.
If you get the advantage, you take out half of his army. At a disadvantage, he takes out half of yours. If you both pick the same, your armies are mostly unchanged. I assume whoever has the bigger army at the end wins.

I have an army of 70,000 and managed to get him down to 60,000 (with a lot of luck) but then he won the final round, knocking me to 35,000 and winning the whole thing.
Probably going to wait until Im ~100,000 before trying again.

Something like 225,000. But it's a different format from the other fights. I managed to beat him with an army of 54,000.

Did beating him count towards the "beat an army twice the size of yours" ticket?

Yes! Which I was delighted about. I had tried and failed to manage that against a Street Pass monarch a few times.

Does the final battle scale to your army size then? Mine was definitely between 200,000 and 250,000.

Awesome that it counts towards that ticket. I was worried it wouldnt since you dont get the "army is twice the size of yours" warning. Thanks.

I dont know about it scaling. It sounds like something must be at play because Im also certain that mine was over 500,000.

Mansion is actually more fun if you pay for a full-set of hired goons and swap them back and forth to get the biggest coloured-blocks.

If I just use the people I streetpass with the floor is just a mess of colour.

Helped me get a new suit, tho:

Ahhh man my army is around 90,000 and I've just reached the final boss..... who has an army of 665,000!
I'm gonna have to wait until the end of the year to be able to challenge him :(

Bought the set of new games. Only played a couple, but there seem to be a lot of imagination and cool ideas here. I'm going to be really sad if they rely on getting a ton of Streetpass hits, though, because I apparently live in a land bereft of 3DSes...:(

It looks like his army scales up against your army so building your army up will only make his bigger.
Feels like they set it up so that you absolutely must stick with the rock/paper/scissors method instead of just overpowering him.

I'm probably just blind, but how do you buy the new games in a bundle? I remember being offered it when the games first came out, but turned it down at the time. Now that I have the credit from the FE/SMT promotion, I'm not seeing where to buy the bundle.

Try to buy one game, then will ask if you want to bundle.

I've been stuck on the last guy in the army one for a few weeks now. :(

I've been SOOO close like twice, had it won just needed advantage or draw in last round but of course I got disadvantage. :(

Heartbreaking.

5 passes in my home town today! Best result for this location ever.

4 Animal Crossing passes. It really seems to be the driving force behind the 3DS.

3 of them had played the new Streetpass games.

I had my first streetpass today with someone else who had Streetpass Battle.
I almost felt bad when I crushed his 33 man army with my 3,850 man army.

Almost.

Wanted an iced coffee

> decided to go into the mall to get one

>> there was a place across the street I could've just driven-thru instead

>>> got two streetpasses (worth it)

How do I buy all the games at once for 15 bucks? I can't find it the eShop.

You need to talk to the Salesbunny in StreetPass Plaza. He appears when you try to play any of the DLC games.

When you try to buy any of the DLC games for the first time, he will give you the option to buy all 4 for the discounted price.

I went to Vancouver yesterday for the Rush concert yesterday, got 5 passes including someone named "Gaben" who had their Mii look exactly like Gabe Newell, complete with the grey beard! I'm wondering if it was a Gaffer, I laughed so hard when I saw him...unless what if it really was Gabe himself? :P

Lol, hes not joking. Be careful too. If you screw up, youll have to finish your current run through and then start all over. Happened to me when I was only paying half attention at a fork in the road.
Use this as a guide:

I used a combination of several guides to form one accurate enough (a lot of them had hat location errors, particularly on one particular Yoshi hat):

It's a mess, but it served me well :P

I got a metric fuck-ton of street passes two nights ago at the Zelda concert. The last time I got that many street passes was... at the Zelda concert last year.

Holy shit now that I have grown 20 flowers Mendel has stopped telling me about all the different and wonderful things I can do in Leafington. Streetpass Garden is going to be way more tolerable now.

That key is actually from an image I made when I was still going through the secret quest. I corrected it as I went through myself and this is the most recent version so this should be correct, and from a quick look at your image it seems to be.

Yes. After the update, got a 100 tag message on a person finally.

# of tags you've done on a single person. The queue is still only 10 tags long.
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

Still, Nintendo needs to up the 10 tag limit. I have a major convention in August and checking the Plaza every 10 tags with the six games will be painful. They can make it 99 overall, but they can still show for each game in groups of ten. That shouldn't be too hard.
