i keep having 30ish kbps speed with it...
with torrents i can get 500+ easily
i've tried the links from both the NA and JP arr site they both gave me the same speeds

That definitely looks like a single-card kind of score. Has AMD or Squenix confirmed that CF is enabled for FFXIV yet? You might have better luck asking on the beta forums.

We know Nvidia has already activated SLI, because that 20k+ Titan SLI score is fucking crazy and awesome.

Thank you. I did figure out what the problem was, though. I had my config set to Main (monitor)+Extended (TV) and once I set it to Main only my score went to 8,230. I wish it scaled better. 50% scaling is meh. I was expecting to hit 9k+, but maybe when retail comes out and newer drivers (attempted with 13.8 beta drivers).

Ha, am I the only one?

There's probably better pics to show similarity, or maybe it's 'cause I just watched the Avengers again...

I played all of five minutes in one of the early phases, but work's been murder so I haven't been playing, but hopefully I'll have time to play more in the next phase and open beta.

Anyway, here's what I came up with (I suck at character creators, I always think I'm picking the most standard, boring stuff), for some reason I couldn't get darker highlights to show up well in the hair, oh well:

I got in the ps3 and pc beta. Never really read the ps3 code, being ecstatic for pc. PS3 code doesn't work now. Any chance for the future or need new code?

browsing r/ffxiv for a bit, quite a lot of infos posted there
player made minions...
arcanist & summoner skills
buttload of skill changes for the jobs

Average Framerate:35.650

I would not call this high but it is totally acceptable for a laptop I did not purchase for gaming.

Was really happy when my 660 Ti netted me a 8781 on max settings 1080p. God, I just want to make my Seeker of the Sun a Bard. I wish the character creation for now gave us more than just Paladin getups, I wanted to play around more with clothing. ):

Are you sure everything's running correctly on your laptop? I know the 670MX is a mobile chip and all, but at only high settings you should be performing a, "little," better than that.

yea it should be those were the max setting. i did it on high laptop and i got :

Score:4985
Average Framerate:42.394
Performance:High

Screen Size: 1920x1080
Screen Mode: Full Screen

My score seems to fluctuate a lot on my laptop. I haven't tested it multiple times on my desktop yet. It seems to run at near 30 on 1366x768 which is nice.

I have myself a new problem. You see, I made this guy just to see if I could make an okay Highlander. Showed it to my girlfriend and she loved it. Showed it to a co-worker and he dug it and said it looked like me. Asked customers at work and they agreed. Sent picture to parents and they agreed. So, now I'm thinking about this dude right here.

The olde Roegadyn/Galka I used since Phase 3 and resembles my FFXI Galka to a T.

If this game didn't have such kick ass looking characters, this probably wouldn't be a problem. =)

Oh, I read the first score sheet wrong. I thought that was the score you were getting on, the "high," graphical preset. The score makes quite a bit more sense on Maximum.

Heh, firstworld problems! XD

Honestly, both characters look good. I tend to go for subtler designs, so the highlander looks better in that respect. I tend to dismiss human characters as dull though, and with all that history. Really tough choice there. DX

The GTX 670MX has the same basic core configuration as the desktop GTX 660, but at something like 60% the core clock and 50% the memory clock.

Now, let's look at some desktop GTX 660 benchmark results:

Looks good to me.

It's pretty impossible to do. Even the worst I can come up with looks okay. You'd need a slider type system for that.

It kinda bothers me though. I know it's a game but having everyone look like a supermodel, standing with perfect posture everywhere you go makes the world feel bland. I do appreciate when there's races with twisted backs or customization options for old or ugly characters.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this, but I've got some questions about FFXIV in general.

Looking at the FFXIV site, it looks like they've changed all the names around for the races. Is there a reason? I mean, as long as I get to play a Mithra it's all cool but, I kind of liked the name Taru-Taru and Mithra...

・How do the jobs work? It looks like you start with a class and then evolve into a job? If that's the case, how do the Disciples of the Hand / Land work? Are they strictly non-combatants? And where the heck are thieves?!?!? ;.;

・How closely does this game resemble XI? It looks like they're taking a page from Guild Wars II with the FATE system - is there anything else that really makes it stand out from say WoW? Is the combat system similar to XI?

・Is this the right thread for these questions or is there another FFXIV thread?

I need to see if I can find some of my old screen grabs from my AlienGundam days on FFXI....

If I set it to borderless windowed, for some reason it acts like vsync has been disengaged (I get framerates >60fps, which is my monitor refresh rate).. yet I see no tearing at all. Some witchcraft going on with this engine. I think you get a better benchmark score this way as obviously the time spent at 120fps is worth a lot more than when it's topping out at 60. The borderless windowed (ie. unlocked framerate) score is about 1000 higher than fullscreen (ie. locked 60fps).

Very impressed with how well it runs. It's a bit more optimized than the previous benchmark I think. I immediately went and pre-ordered the collector's edition for £42 based on the performance and very positive beta impressions.

Edit: just read it's probably due to Lucid Virtu MVP. Interesting 'feature'.

Races' names were changed because this is eorzea, not vanadiel

Jobs are advanced classes basically, disciples of land and hand are not combat classes

Game isn't that similar to 11, I don't think you can gear change mid battle

1) Different world, but familiar races. So, some subtle names with the addition of males and females and voila!

2) There are classes with serves purposes (tanking, healing and such) but they can borrow skills from other classes you've leveled (somewhat similar to subjobs). Jobs then refocus that class to perform very well at its specified duty (gaining new skills and stats) at the expense of less skills to borrow from other classes.

Disciples of Hand/Land are the game's crafting/gathering classes.

3) It resembles XI in that it shares similar races and jobs. Different gameplay, world, setting, and experiences though. However, like XI, is decidedly feels like "Final Fantasy."

No Ninja, Thieves, or Red Mages....;.;

I was hoping for Dancer or Geomancer but man, is this list of jobs complete or are there some missing?

Disciples of War

Gladiator
Pugilist
Marauder
Archer
Lancer

Disciples of Magic
Conjurer
Thaumaturge
Arcanist

Jobs
Paladin
Monk
Warrior
Dragoon
Bard
Black Mage
White Mage
Summoner
Scholar

Disciples Hand / Land

Seems like we're missing hybrids. Of course I say that without really knowing much about the game but, where are all the leather classes?

Well, they do have ways to create passable older characters. Just, not the, "so old they're hunched over and gnarled," variety. And to be honest, you really wouldn't expect too many people that age to be globe trotting adventurers.

I get your point though. I seemed to recall NPC's that were less than super models, but making ugly player characters is actually kinda a challenge in this game.

Still, a lot of fantasy games go way overboard on the ugly. I'd rather deal with a world full of attractive people, than a world full gnarled monkey faced NPC's that seem to wallow in mud all day.

Monk, Archer, Lancer (to a point) are your "leather jobs." Not sure what you mean there. As for hybrids? You can create them as a class, but not as a job. Game has more than enough roles right now though. Well, we need one more pure healing class...
