There's still a chance returning veterans could be revealed in directs, as far as Brawl goes Fox's return was revealed with a trailer at least. Not exactly the most exciting prospect I know.

I was shocked when I heard the wii-fit trainer was in and was only somewhat interested about the animal crossing villager at first... but the more I think about it (and see in pictures and what little else we know) I'm thinking, more and more, that these two are perfect and AWESOME choices!
Megaman's announcement was a breath of relief but Villager and WFT were breathes of fresh air.

But it's called Mega/Rock Upper in both MM2: The Power Fighters and Marvel vs. Capcom.

Its a shoryuken, because it sounds cooler than megga upper.
He calls it a Mega Upper and says that it's like a Shoryuken.
Mega Upper is its official name, but he did mention that it's based on Shoryuken on the Developer Direct.

Not sure about Villager, but Kirby's Trainer hat will probably be a wig and it's obvious what his Mega Man hat will be
Maybe Villager-Kriby will be kirby with the hair, nose, and eerie smile?
