Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I think all newcomers will be announced during Directs with special trailers.

I'd be surprised otherwise. Sure hope Lil Mac's in. :(

Yeah, I figured that and I suspected same thing. That's why I'm waiting patiently for next Direct.

This wait is killing me. The daily updates for Brawl were awesome. Stop teasing me Sakurai!

At least, we aren't going to be spoiled hugely for the game.

Just curious, is the new OT going to be in Gaming or Community? And will it still work as a general, catch all Smash thread like this thread sometimes was?

Btw, cool theory about the stages possibly being customizable with its platforms.

Dojo OT2 will be in Gaming. There is no point for people to make new thread EVERY morning for new screenshot. Unless it's new character or something HUGE then someone should make a new thread for character's reveal or something major.

Also Dojo OT2 is for screenshots, new stages, new items (AT/Pokeballs/etc) and small news that are not big deal to many fans. Discussions, Predictions and Debates are welcome in this thread as well like ALWAYS. :lol

People must remember that the Brawl Dojo didn't start directly after its reveal. We had to wait for like six months or something for any new information, save for the trailer with Fox.

Isn't customisable stages essentially the stage editor?

If they allowed us to use components from stages in the editor, that'd be good enough stage customisation for me.

Did he also say customisation would be more prominent on the 3DS? I think I misread.

I want to see what else is revamped in Bowser's moveset. I was hoping for a few more inspired moves. Maybe holding B has the normal Fire Breath, and tapping B shoots a single fireball.

I also think Link will get some new moves, or moves with changed properties. Have they already shown his boomerang? Does he have the gale?

These screen shots don't do me justice. I want to see some of these things in action.

Yeah, but this isn't Brawl, though. The SSB64 site, Melee site, and Brawl site were all completely different from each other, so I don't know why people are expecting the new site to follow the Brawl formula. It's its own thing. There was an Olimar reveal a month after the site launched, so it's clearly already very different from the Brawl site.

Where did he say no Hazard Toggle?

One of article but the site is down. I have to wait until it come back so I can post the source here. However I found the quote.

Sakurai on the level of customization in the game…

You can still manage the appearance of items, but you cannot disable the damage caused by the stages. If we propose such an option, it might as well be PlayStation all-stars!

Yeah, I remembered that but Sakurai said that he don't want to do Dojo. I think but I could be wrong.

Well, Stage Editors is more of making your own stages so it's different since you can't edit the stages that Sakurai and the company made.

Edited: Oopsy, sorry for double post.

Well, it may not be Dojo but obviously they revealed few new things on new site like a new stage and Olimar.

On another note, is The Last Story officially a Nintendo IP? Everything seems to point that it is by looking at the credits and when compared to other similar situations like Sin & Punishment and Wonderful 101.

That's definitely one game I'd like to see represented on Smash.
Yes its always been a 1st party IP, all 3 of the rainfall games are, xenoblade was even developped "inhouse" aka 1st party studio

So many potentially great stages in Smash... Ruined by hazards :(

I hear you, but what elements couldn't be used in a Stage Editor from a typical stage? I'm sure it'll be easy to implement the platforms, bridges, lava pits etc, maybe except stage hazards due to timing etc.

I'm sorry if i'm not totally understanding you. I'm half asleep trying to reply, lol.

Arwings, scrolling environments like the Spirit Tracks level, Pokemon Stadium stage morphing, Etc.

Smash should really have a "God mode" that allows the person using the gamepad to control the stage, items, cpu, etc. It has been talked about before, and it is something that I thought the Wii U would make more common, but so far it hasn't really been implemented. New Super Mario Bros. U barely scratched the surface.

That was one of my request ever since Smash 4 got announced for Wii U (E3 2011)

Same here. I think that it would only take one game to execute this feature well before we see it appear in a whole crop of Wii U games.

From screenshots and various videos, it seems like all of Bowsers aerial attacks are new, so it seems like they've revamped a lot of his normals which, really, are more important in making him actually good.

We haven't seen what Link's Side B is yet, I'm hoping it's some sort of boomerang though, preferably similar to Toon Link's if he does get cut because he had really good projectiles. Was never too fussed about the gale boomerang, it always felt worse.

He had really good everything compared to regular Link, regular Link sucked.

I've only seen his new up air attack. Are there screens of the rest?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQD1yJinzeQ

His new neutral air is one of your usual "spinning in midair" attacks except it doesn't last as long as his previous one which means it's actually useful for doing it after a short hop.

I've also noticed that his drop-kick attack isn't actually his dash attack, which I've thought was this whole time, he has a single running kick for his dash attack, the drop kick is his forward smash and that also has a lot less lag after the attack has ended than in brawl.

I'll look for the screenshot, but I'm pretty sure I saw a new down air which was a downward swipe, which would be better than that ridiculous 10 second long spin he does with 20 seconds of landing lag, but it might have just been the end of his forward air at a weird angle making it look like a down air.

This isn't the image I was thinking of, but notice how Samus is just being launched and Bowser is in an animation that doesn't look like any of his current aerial attack or the ones I've mentioned, it looks almost like his new forward air is a kick attack but I can't really tell.

I actually haven't seen his new up air though, got any screens of that?

Okay, gotcha. Makes sense. I just figured for those slow days where we've talked about the various Brawl hacks and such. I'm still working on making an easy plug in and go set which I can always use feedback on and just don't mind sharing in general (it's not hard, but it's a lot if meticulous work to get things just right and to cover all the bases), but didn't want to feel like I was intruding in the thread.

Speaking of the hacks I've been working on and talk of a stage editor. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Sakurai wanted to improve upon the feature which all but died when stage hacks became easy and popular. Why make very generic stages when you could make stages still representing the franchises? And a lot of those are just simple night/day/rain/snow variations. A little toggle like that would be neat too. We still don't know if the day, dusk, and nighttime shots of Battlefield are just one continuous loop or alternate variations (or even real time like Brawl's Smashville)

IntelliHealth, I didn't thoroughly read your big post on the last page but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if we were given some sort of option to add and take away platforms per stage. Unless what we've seen so far is just test stages I think its likely.

Though when Sakurai talks about character customization and directionality(what ever that means) I bet he is talking pure aesthetics and animation. Like the way Mega Man attacked Mario in the trailer and coins fly out, I bet we will be able to customize none sense like that. With Mario coins fly out when he gets beat up, or he can beat the coins out of other players. DK gets the Banana's knocked out of him and so on. I could even see new animations for attacks but function exactly like the standard moves.

Also Bowser as his down air still in tack. Lots of screen shots with his shell drilled into the ground. His N Air, Dash A, and Forward Smash have changed.

Now look up RomanceDawn on Miiverse and yeah my multiple "DK needs a roll attack" pictures. Please!

Naw, that's fine if you want to bring up something here from 64, Melee and Brawl. It's possibilities that it might ended up as what you said.

Possibilities with Hack in Wii U would be hilarious. Some people would bring Brawl Pit and Brawl Bowser back in Project Brawl, awhile Project Melee would have Melee Pit and Melee Bowser. I'm very curious if those would happens and see what would happens.

The attack in that picture is just his side special move -- that's what it looks like right after the impact. As for his up air attack, that's what I thought the new move in the Developer Direct was (the one you've identified as his neutral air).

could be. Iirc, didn't Sakurai say in some interviews that the 3ds version will have transferrable customization to the wiiu? if that's the case then little effects could be a feature they add.

I was playing Brawl just this weekend and had some Kirby and Samus fights. This reminds me how enormous the difference in visuals is...

The more I see the Skyward Sword stage the more I wonder what's up with that though. It's a bit like Brawl's Mario Sunshine stage in many ways, and I suppose that it will be good for tournaments, but I hope that casual, inspired stages with more functions will return. I'm not against less of them (in fact, more tourney stages means more variety in said play modes), but stages like Electroplankton or WarioWare are part of Smash Bros.'s appeal in its most common style of play.
