Every Xbox One Includes a Chat Headset!! + Xbox One Day One Unboxing

Good choice although we never got a confirmation of it not being included which was why it was assumed there wast one right? So idk how this is a "180"

It was previously confirmed by MS to not be included. They wanted us to buy an officially licensed 3rd party one or just use Kinect.

That's good news, an XBL where mostly everyone talks via Kinect would have been simply awful. I do wonder if someone somewhere in MS is annoyed that they wont be selling as many normal headsets now though.

Though I can't stand Major Nelson, it felt like I was watching one of those 3am informercials and that at the end he would tell me if I bought it now it would include a second power brick and hdmi cable for free.

Thats like a oxymoron bro. Nothing nice about having a power brick.

Heat source stays outside the console. I think its a positive. It sits behind all my equipment and cant be seen (like my 360 one) - makes no aesthetic difference, might make a positive difference to the console not overheating.

do you applaud a person for coming forward and confessing to murder/rape too?

Congratulations! You've posted the most ridiculous comment I have ever seen on this forum.

It wasn't included before.

"Xbox One does not include a pack-in headset accessory. Each Xbox One includes the new Kinect sensor, with a highly sensitive multi-array microphones designed to enable voice inputs and chat as a system-level capability, both in-game and with Skype and other experiences," said Microsoft. "For gamers who prefer a headset, we have a variety of offerings that you can find on the Xbox Wire."

Still waiting on the last 180 that would get me to purchase the console, drop dat Kinect requirement. If Ms still want to include it in every box, fine. If they want to make me pay for it with a 499 console, fine. Just make it so I never have to plug the damn thing in and we are golden MS. I know you can do it.

It's surely only a matter of time, they've capitulated on everything else. As long as Kinect is at least in the box then developers know that everyone at least has the option to use it (even if they have to plug it back in).

Now we know why there will never be a Kinect-less version: the Kinect is an IR blaster for tv functionality. It's there to stay.

Plus the fact that I think the brick being outside and the bigger console itself means the X1 is gonna be considerably more quiet than the PS4. I can't wait to find out since I will more than likely be getting both at launch.

Not to be that guy, but I could name a few consoles without a power brick that never had heating issues all while keeping size down.

This video actually made me want to buy an X1 for a second, and I probably will one time, just not at launch. Anyway the box itself is pretty cool.

These videos always make me remember those moments when I first unpack a console.
Brief moments of ultimate excitement, love, and impatience.

November, you can't come soon enough.

"Xbox One system software uses a significant amount of storage."

I wonder how much we'll have for actual games - 450 GB? 400 GB? Less...?

Man, that could be the sexiest console box design. I was gonna wait until next year to get both consoles, but I'm tempted to get a x1 at launch.

MS been putting out some very fine boxes lately.

Just look at this shit:

No, but generally speaking, when a person shows remorse for their crimes and a willingness to reform that is taken into account by the legal system.

Of course it's far too soon to determine whether this is a short-term backtrack to avoid flat-out failure or the start of a longer-term shift brought about by the massive negative backlash to the Xbone's initial reveal (a la Sony this generation). So it still doesn't make sense to take MS at their word until later into the generation.

You really think they've managed to design a 100GB+ OS?

They'll see this will actually help then in the long run. The more you can make the Xbox Live Community grow, the more people will start shoveling money at you in the marketplace and for their subscriptions. Including the chat headset in the 360 did more for Microsoft than I think they could truly appreciate.

getting better.

now just let me know I can physically remove kinect if I choose to do so, and then maybe we can be friends again.

also, for all the other folks that would prefer not to buy a kinect if they dont want it, you microsoft guys better look into this too.

you can't brute force your way as you already saw, so why not be smart for a change?

Looks really good, especially about the USB cable and that you can just plug that in and not use batteries. The headset controls look great.

As someone who was sure they wouldn't buy this, MS has done a good job convincing me otherwise.

I'll still need to wait about a year because buying consoles day 1 is for the birds.

Unboxing and setting up your account for the first time is magical every time for every console I swear. Wii U was particularly exciting for me.

Major Nelson has a future with QVC...

So since the logo on the console is a button, is the one on the controller a button as well?

Lets look at current gen, most AAA 3D games are running at 720p or lower at around 30fps, but there are quite a few XBLA games running at 1080p 60fps. I don't expect next gen AAA titles to run at 4k and 60fps, but I'd like XBLA games to be able to hit that without being held back.
Even if smaller, less demanding games can do it, they won't. The simple fact is that developers will have no reason to even include 4k support because the TV's won't start reaching a decent market saturation until the generation is almost over, if ever. It is telling when Sony isn't talking about 4k at all with the PS4, and Sony of all companies has the most to gain from supporting it. The only 4k support these consoles will see is some kind of 4k streaming video, and even that won't happen in any meaningful way for awhile.

HOLY SHIT

I guess I've never heard Major Nelson speak before, jesus his voice is annoying as hell.

That being said, I do applaud MS for unboxing the system this earlier and prior to the initial launch push. Likewise dropping something like the inclusion of the headset during the unboxing is pretty savvy.
