Well it's possible I heard him wrong, he said a few lines during that scene rather low. Anyone else know if it was "I" or "you"? If he said HE doesn't give a shit about family, Hank needs to lay off the rage lol

I'm pretty sure I heard "I don't give a shit about a family". Could be wrong but that's what I thought.

If you look back at the entire series though, Jesse gets a lot of slack from fans that he probably shouldn't. Almost all the pivotal moments in Walt's life that made him go deeper and deeper down criminality, was a result of him having to save Jesse, protect Jesse, or undo a problem that Jesse caused.

The brilliance of the show is that after a certain point, Walt had become so corrupted, it was him making these bad decisions now. Now Jesse's making reckless decisions again, and they might be Walt's downfall. However, now the audience can be more sympathetic towards Jesse's decisions (more so than before), because he feels guilt and remorse for the things he's done.

I guess my point is, I feel sympathetic towards Jesse. But at the same time, I acknowledge that he's also been a big reason that things have gone worse than they should have. Just because Jesse was naive to what he was doing, doesn't excuse his actions.

Walter also saved Jesse from Crazy 8 in the pilot, if Walter wasn't around Jesse would've been murdered and buried.

You guys are reading way too much into Hank's "I don't give a shit about family." Of course he does. He was just pissed off and lashing out at Walt being such a disingenuous and manipulative scumbag.

Well thought out and honest accoun right here.

Haha, Hank was pretty pissed off damn. I hope that's not foreshadowing... I want him and Marie to get out of this alive, they deserve that much :(*

I actually want the writers to do what makes the most sense giving the context of the story, so if they must die, they must. But I'm rootin' for them to escape.

You say that as though there was no other option. Walt could of gone to the police. Confess everything like what Skyler told him. But Walt is to proud and badass to do that.

Let's be real though. Going to the police isn't the best way to protect somebody from a drug lord and his network of criminals/assassins.

Man going to be awesome to see 2 alphas going at it (Heisenburg and Hank).

Jesse is beta as fuck. Get your shit together. I honestly don't see how he will possibly survive. Even if no one else kills him, he'll probably commit suicide.

Really, I think it is. Witness protection program. Plus he would have enough info on Fring for them to arrest him. Mike would also be arrested. Sure the family is still at risk but not as big as a risk as what Walt actually did and we know what he actually did do still brought him family down.

Julie Bowen doing a good job on Talking Bad.

Basically yeah Walt is bad and we all realize it, but then there is this little part of you that wants him to win. Sorta like Vic Mackey. Maybe you don't want him to win in the end, but you get satisfaction out of seeing how we will squirm his way out.

Crazy 8 was never going to murder Jesse. He was going to rat him out to the DEA and get him arrested. Crazy 8 was a snitch.

When Crazy 8 and his cousin saw Walter, the cousin seemed hellbent on killing both of them. Crazy 8 would probably let his cousin murder Jesse, they would've hid the bodies in the desert and go about their day.

Oh god, no.

Speaking of guilt... when I read a story recently about an agent pursuing an SS officer in his 90s, one of the things that was written was how the agent felt that the former SS officer - who was asking for forgiveness - didn't really feel guilty because if he did, he would have turned himself in and ALSO accepted the punishment that came along with it, instead of just secretly trying to seek forgiveness from a jew.

Do we think in order for Jesse to redeem himself, he has to inform on Walt?

Turns out I was wrong! Nonetheless, fucking brilliant scene.

Nah, not for me. I want Walt to go down, and I want him to suffer.

Thanks. I guess a point I wanted to make too is that, there relationship really is a tragedy. They both cared for each other on some deeper level, and yet they were always pulling apart from each other. It's obvious that Walt saw Jesse as the son he never had (but at the same he would manipulate him when it was beneficial to him). And Jesse saw Walt as the father he never had.

If Walt was entirely ruthless and out for himself, he would have let Jesse die a long time ago. The minute Jesse gave up all his info to Jane, should have been a red flag. And when Jesse was stealing meth from Gus and slinging it locally, and then trying to kill Gus's dealers, he could have just let Jesse get killed. Intervening for Jesse didn't benefit him whatsoever in that moment, and it only put his family in danger, as well as his position to make money. Letting Jesse die would have meant that he no longer would have to worry about Jesse going off the handle, and being a loose end.

So now that it's all coming down to the wire, Jesse is falling apart at the seams. He can't handle the guilt of what he's done. And because Walt can't bring himself to kill Jesse, or even entertain the idea that he should probably get rid of him if he's going to be making this much noise, I think Jesse will end up being Walt's downfall in the end.

Not to sound cheesy, but it's pretty damn poetic.

Haha, i just want the story to make sense at the end. The way it's written, it only makes sense that Walt loses everything and either dies or is in jail.

why did they meth's quality suffer so much?

Todd probably cookin', thinkin' he all hot, but he ain't shit.

Yeah, one of the best scenes in the series

my favorite scenes

1. Walt vs. Skyler in the Bedroom from Season 5a
2. "I am the one who Knocks."
3. Hank and Walt in the Garage from Season 5b
4. Mike's Half-Measures Speech
5. "A Robot!?"

Oh, wow. One decent episode and I'm supposed to pretend this show is good all of a sudden. Typical.

I've always liked, Hank. The performance he gave tonight was an achievement. They are getting the most out of just about every actor that has appeared on the show. It's amazing. Even Badger entertained.

Didn't read the thread. Just jumping right in.

Anyone else feel Walt channelling Gus Fring at the car wash?
There were about a half dozen Fring callbacks. A few at the car-wash, then in the bathroom and even Walt's conversation with, Hank.

When Crazy 8 and his cousin saw Walter, the cousin seemed hellbent on killing both of them. Crazy 8 would probably let his cousin murder Jesse, they would've hid the bodies in the desert and go about their day.

But none of that would of ever happened if Walt wanted to cook. See where I'm going here? No one is denying that Walt has saved Jesse's ass on a couple of a occasions.
