PS Vita - Japanese Game Dev PSN Sale | 8/13 - 8/26 (50% off, 75% for PS+)

Unless you don't have access to a Wii, I'd skip the Vita remake of Little King Story. It's a remake of the original, but with way, way less charm, and some pretty severe performance issues.

this has probably been covered a million times in other threads, but is there any reason to get NLKS if you already have LKS

I guess that answers my question... lol

how would you compare it to the other katamaris?
I think the series got progressively worse, and it doesn't buck the trend. It also has pretty annoying touch controls.

Even at 3.75, I wouldn't recommend it. Much like I wouldn't recommend Little Deviants if you were being paid 3.75 to play it. This sale has too many good games (UMvC3, DWN, Soul Sacrifice, Totori, Gravity Rush, Muramasa, DOA5, MGS HD) to waste time on it.

To answer some questions in the thread, my opinions...

Guys, I would recommend SOUL SACRIFICE wholeheartedly over Ragnarok. Ragnarok doesn't seem worth getting now that Dragon's Crown is also out.

Ridge Racer
Has a lot of DLC cars/tracks, not sure how many you still get for free. This game was definitely rushed, the upgrade system is the most fleshed out part of the game. Playing online is a ton of fun, and the game is good if you get into it. The single Player game is basically getting the trophies. For the price it's not a bad racer, but if you're really scrapped for cash, or are not planning to get into it, I would skip.

Already own:
Ridge Racer
Soul Sacrifice Favorite Vita game, excellent Narrative, Music, and good gameplay with excellent Multiplayer
Ragnarok Felt Like it was too Shovelware-y
Gravity Rush Slow start but gets pretty fun later
Katamari It's katamari on vita, 'nuff said. Trophies are a little grindy

What I'm getting and why
Street Fighter X Tekken or Ultimate Marvel Cause I'm currently into fighters
Muramasa Dragon's Crown and Odin's Sphere make me want this
MGS HD Love snake eater
Little King Story Seems fun and great price.
Dead or Alive 5 great price, fighter, liked the demo
Dynasty Warriors Good price offsets that it's a launch/filler type game
Monkey Ball Good price offsets that it's a launch/filler type game

Touch My Katamari
PS+: $3.75

Muramasa Rebirth
$20.99

New Little Kings Story
PS+: $9.79

Dead or Alive 5 Plus
PS+: $10.00

Ragnarok Odyssey
PS+: $14.69

Dynasty Warriors Next
PS+: $8.75

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
PS+: $10.00

That's $77.97 right there for 7 games. Not bad. Not bad at all. I was debating on MGS, but I have that for PS3, plus it's missing Peace Walker. That being said, this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for yesterday. I could use a 128GB card now.

Naaaah. This made it worth it.

DOA5+
Dynasty Warriors Next

$18.75 Must gets

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus
Muramasa Rebirth
New Little Kings Story
MGS Collection

65.06 Maybe gets...

This is gonna be a tough few weeks for my wallet. Glad I got the 16gb card when they were being clearanced out at AT&T

Get Totori Plus guys.
We're getting Meruru Plus next month and it's a lot more enjoyable if you play Totori before.

Ah, thanks for the direct links. So with the discounted price, the whole game can be had for a shade over $20. Not bad, given that the game -- without the DLC -- is still $30 at most retailers.

I agree with the poster who said DOA5+ is a steal at $10. I'm definitely biting on that. I enjoyed DOA5 on PS3, and the cross-save functionality makes it almost a no-brainer.

Katamari is tempting week one. Played it on the cart, wasn't bad, $3.75 as a DD would make it much more easy to pop on and play for a bit.

Dynasty Warriors Next feels like a must buy though, and I have to pick one of UMVC3 or DOA5. I've played a lot of UMVC3 on PS3 so I don't know if that's a plus or a minus. Will have to research which one plays best online.

Is the series good for a "easy" rpg player. I play a lot of RPGs on easy mode if they have it. If not I prefer ones that don't have difficulty spikes. One of the reasons I gave up on tales of abyss.

Maybe the DLC'll get discounted too?

Holy Crap at those prices..... so cheap!

Everyone should buy LKS... Great little game.

Touch my Katamari does not have trophies, correct?

Hmmmmm decisions decisions. I really want Totori, despite owning it on PS3 already, and Muramasa. However, not sure when I will get around to playing either and so I wonder if they will go cheaper later.

Grr perhaps I will just stick with getting Katamari. Must. Have. Restraint.

Pretty nice sale!

Picking up the following:

Touch My Katamari
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Dead or Alive 5 Plus

Debating between one of these two...leaning towards Soul Sacrifice.
Soul Sacrifice
Muramasa Rebirth

More or less confirmed
Silent Hill Book of Memories $7.50
Touch My Katamari $3.75
New Little Kings Story $9.79
Dynasty Warriors Next $8.75

Undecided between
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 $10.00
Dead or Alive 5 Plus $10.00

Undecided
Muramasa Rebirth $20.99
Atelier Totori Plus $19.59

This would be the end of my KZ:M funds :(

Not to make a fight, but would Nintendo ever make this kind of sale for either eShop? I'd love to switch my early Nintendo 3DS games to digital, like I have with my Vita (thanks to these sales and IGC), but I can't sell my games on eBay for a higher price than I can buy my games. (For example: I'm selling my Rayman Origins for Vita right now on eBay with two bids at $10.50-- bought it digitally for $7 this weekend).

When will I not have to pay $40 to keep my games on my SD card? I embrace digital downloads, but only Sony knows how to do this for gaming handhelds.

Oh man, Little Kings Story will be mine. It's a solid remake of the Wii version right?

It's a sequel, but barely--it's essentially more of the same, but with muddier graphics and an embarrassingly bad framerate. Definitely a worthy $10 purchase, but it was never worth the $40 launch price, mainly due to the points I mentioned.

New Little Kings Story BUY BUY BUY
Reg: $19.99 | Sale: $13.99 | PS+: $9.79

Dead or Alive 5 Plus
Reg: $39.99 | Sale: $19.99 | PS+: $10.00

Dynasty Warriors Next BUY BUY BUY
Reg: $34.99 | Sale: $17.49 | PS+: $8.75

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Reg: $39.99 | Sale: $19.99 | PS+: $10.00

Ugh, there goes almost $40. Worth it. These are like Steam-quality sales, goddamn.

Definitely picking up Little King's story. So glad I held off. I think it came out at $40 or something silly like that? ~$15 is perfect.

Of course maybe I'll go PSPlus and get Gravity Rush for free too.. hmmmmmm

I know it doesn't show up on the list, but is there any chance the standalone versions of MGS collection will be discounted too? :(

Will probably buy Muramasa to have a digital copy and maybe play (eventually) and just leave my physical LE sealed.

Not terribly interested in anything else, as I'd want UMvC3 on PS3 instead.

It's only hard if you try to get every ending in a single playthrough.

Damn, I'm in the UK but would definitely buy a few of those if I could - Katamari, Muramasa, Soul Sacrifice and maybe even DW. Like a few others though, my 36GB of Vita memory is also maxxed out and I'm loathe to buy too many memory cards. I'm considering getting another 32GB as I don't like deleting games unless I don't enjoy them, but I too wish Sony would produce bigger memory cards. I paid £55 for the 32GB, but would consider £100 for 128GBs of memory. That in itself is a disgusting suggestion really, but my gaming habits have changed, I'm not longer such a collector as I used to be and the convenience of having a large library to hand is a great perk, even if it's damn expensive. Come on, Sony - sort out your damn memory card prices. Do you think they realise that for a lot of people they're the biggest barrier to buying a Vita?
