i will still have a 360. what good games do you speak of and are they multi-platform?
Personally if i was to drop £349 on a games system it would be easier to run past the significant other if it was near my birthday, however the PS4 is not near my Birthday, so i will of course be buying it for work purposes, such as research.

I've seen way weaker launch lineups. There will be a shit ton of games for people to play.
You can always buy a PS4 in 6 years.
I'm not trying to be mean. Sometimes people complain about new generations hitting as if everyone has to move to the next generation instantly. When in reality most people adopt new generation consoles 3 years into it.

This date amuses me because I heard an October 22nd date floating around for the Xbox One launch this week.
I really can't believe they'd launch both at retail simultaneously but I suppose if supply is limited (at least on Microsoft's part) it won't overwhelm them too much.
I still think Sony gets out first and Microsoft ships in November, but I suppose this could also be indicative of MSFT's series of 180s since two weeks after E3. Instead of giving Sony the perception of a head start, they'll rush as much supply out in tandem that they can afford and ramp up after that. It's not like third-parties care 'cause they're co-developing both versions simultaneously.

My local EB is already talking about second batch of pre-orders. I think launch allocation has been filled. They might not have been allocated very many though.
Not to mention just like a week later you get BF4, and AC4.
