Grand Theft Auto Online: Official Gameplay Video, launches October 1st

That's kind of embarrassing the online portion is going to miss the disc release, actually annoys me online isn't gonna be available on September 17th... why not just delay the whole game till October 1st as it's obvious online won't be ready for the games launch

How would that help anyone?

Yes. it will launch in Oct, 2 weeks after its release. It will be free and requires small patch to enable the online play.

"It'll be GTA Online; it's not part of GTA 5. Obviously it's set in the GTA 5 engine, but it's going to grow and evolve into its own thing." Access to GTA Online will come for free with every retail copy of GTA 5.

GTA Online may arrive in the form of "a tiny download", he added, "but it'll just be a code. We've just got to figure out how that will work with Sony and Microsoft."

Plus, online multiplay and its will be expand overtime.

"Initially, you'll be able to create races and deathmatches, which are probably the simplest. And then, over time, when we feel comfortable that people are ready to get the new creators, they will be released. So it'll be a trickle, but it'll be a constant release of new creators and new content. We don't want to overdo it. It's a complex system.

I'd rather be able to play on September 17th......... I have no intention of jumping into online till I've played GTA5 some.

Interesting sentence:

Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V and launches on October 1st.

Holy cow balls

Things are sure to get even more interesting sometime after launch when the stock market is implemented: Instead of protecting cars, you'll be able to engage in a bit of lighthearted market manipulation by investing your money in a car manufacturer and running around town destroying every one of those models you come across. Suddenly that company is going to be pumping out a whole lot of new cars. Nice time to be a stockholder, eh?

Fuck that. You can play the single player and by the time you start wrapping that up the multiplayer will probably be ready to launch.

Remember that X gif? Yeah, me neither.

Looks amazing.

Guess I'm stuck with singleplayer for two weeks.

I honestly love this. I always take my time playing single player in games first and then jump into the multiplayer, and by the time i do everyone has already gotten all the good levels/experience which always ends up making it a shit experience online for me. This is very good news.

It really looks like they're packing so much stuff into it, that I'm a little worried it'll be a "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of situation. I mean, how can they do:

-Waverace
-Need for Speed
-Tiger Woods
-Pure (ATV racing)
-Team Deathmatch
-CTF
-Base Jumping
-Airplane racing

All in the same game and control/handle well and be well-designed/fun? Color me a bit skeptical.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still there day one like I assume everyone else here will be, but to imagine a game that has all that stuff in it in addition to already being Grand Theft Auto, well, that's just amazing. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Nope, still not my cup of tea. The online part of GTA4 was the reason i bought it, and regretted it. So now I know that I don't like GTA.

I think its awesome it launches two weeks after release. It's like an entirely new game becomes available, after you have beaten the single player to death.

Very impressive. Leagues better than that garbage that was gta4.

Content creator too... nice..

Definitely a massive package.

Damn, is not really a huge long wait though,

I can tackle single player before the multiplayer fun begins.

Hope they can atleast give us Free Roam.

Multiplayer online is half the fun in GTA. Gonna feel a bit empty without it.

How can it be half the fun in GTA when IV was the first one to do it? San Andreas was pretty fun.

That's it, every other games developer in the world, pack it up and go home, Rockstar have won videogames.

I love that you can just dick about with a friend doing petty crimes.

So happy that you can buy bigger and better apartments and co-ops heists and missions, the only thing that would be the cherry on the top is if I could play as a cop.
