Nothing is really too ambitious if you've got the money, talent and time to make it. GTA5 has had the longest development schedule of any GTA game and probably by far the largest budget.

"Stay tuned" by Rockstar standards usual meant a 6 month wait. Now its like...Damn this game is really coming out a month from today.

If you ever played San Andreas multiplayer...That's what a lot of people do, chill and/or start gangwars, lol. Was probably the most overwhelming but cool thing I've done with an online community. Now GTA online is not as in-depth as SA Multi, but I wouldn't say they're pulling it out of their ass because I can see a lot of people just chilling out, shooting the shit while everyone else causes mayhem.

Like I said before, what they have done here is just on another level. It's mind boggling what all they have put into this game.

I would second the pulse elite headset. Its really nice. And you can even hook it up to other consoles and PC. I don't think you get the 7.1 virtual surround doing it though.

I think I heard in one of CVG's vids that if you become engaged into an activity like that, you can't just be harrassed by jets/explosions/etc.

Cvg confirmed there are some activities that are isolated like tennis and golf. You can't be interrupted when doing those. Also there is a pcificst mode where you vcant harm or be harmed

San Andreas multiplayer is weird to me. I messed around with it and it feels weird to have such a huge landmass with a couple hundred people and no NPC's or traffic. This game preserves the immersion of being in a city while playing multiplayer which I didn't experience with SAMP.

I don't know that I agree with "not as in-depth". It definitely supports more players almost like a mini-MMO, but by removing all NPC's, it didnt feel like San Andreas.

They're basically making a free MMO inside a persistent world with the complexity of GTA V. Something that companies throwing millions upon millions at their games have been unable to do with far less impressive graphics even. Hell, look at the whole Final Fantasy XIV debacle and that was nowhere near as ambitious as this. Also, Star Wars The Old Republic.

And if you want something a bit closer to this, look at the spectacular failure of APB.
