Chief Thunder revealed (Killer Instinct)

I'm really liking the redesign of Thunder. The dripping paint adds a nice touch to his aesthetics, and I can see where they were going when they explained the story behind it.

Kim Wu with return with her awesome fireballs, splits, and tornado kicks, and everyone will like them .

His redesign is probably the best so far, but I still don't really care for it.

The designs for this game in general have been pretty meh.

Ken Lobb said a KI2 character will be in the game

That means tusk, maya, gargos or Kim wu

Tusk and Maya were fairly garbage

Gargos would work beautifully as a redesigned character except he's a boss character.... but Kim wu is really the only good complete character from KI2... Has one of the better "stories", great stage, great moves and great looks.

I say odds are very very high she makes it. Hell... If there's one character out of all KI that we won't see it may only be Maya...

I'm still a little hurt Thunder doesn't have his phoenix fire, or his head uppercut(whatever you called that thing). I know it may not go with the type of character he is now, but I still wanted to see what it would look like. Same with Glacius' bouncing fireball from the first game. The sound it made was very unique, especially with multiple ones on screen.

So I guess he's not called chief thunder anymore? They keep referring to him as thunder. I guess the chief was deemed too "politically insensitive" by the suits.
 
Just to chime in: I really dig the new Thunder design and also his stage. He looks very powerful and I like that some of his moves and overall playstyle seem similar to Alex's.

So far, my hype for this game is still steadily rising and I can't wait to see more character/stage reveals (especially if they include Riptor, Fulgore, Orchid and heck, even Tusk), or hear more music!
 
Am I the only one who enjoys over sexualised female characters? Hoping Orchid keeps her thong.

Also, Thunder looks cool. Can't wait to see Fulgore.
 
Fulgore (best character design in the original for me) and Riptor (because dinosaurs) are the ones I want to see most. Spinal as well I guess, cause skeleton warriors are dope.
 
Is it me or does it look like they have slightly changed the art style or something? Like there is some kind of new shader or filter over the character models?

I thought that at the Glacius unveil too, but it's actually the lighting of the stage I think. Jago looks super pale in Glacius stage for example.

Thunder and Sabrewulf take the cake for coolest redesign. Jago is next with Glacius being last. Have high expectations for Spinal, Fulgore and Cinder.

It's KI 3 in all but name as far as plot goes and continuing on threads from KI and KI 2. It probably won't go too much above "Ultratech are dicks, again" (thanks Max) but the characters are post KI 2. Jago's angry over the events of KI 2, Thunder believes Eagle is dead and is taking his rage out on everyone and Sabrewulf is getting more desperate to cure himself. Interested to see where it goes since plot inspiration is going into characters and designs this time.
 
I have to say, looking it better I think Chief Thunder is too busy. I don't really understand what going on on his head. What kind of haircut does he has? Are the feathers ingrained in his skull like last time? I can't see shit.

It says in the video that he's wearing a mix of braids and a topknot along with his headdress.

This is a more traditional Native American style than...Well, I was never quite sure what was on OG Thunder's head.
 
Where in the hell is the new version of wooden bridge stage with canyon and sun at background? Most iconic stage and music from original KI.

ITS A MUST HAVE!

I really like the way the Chief looks in this game. I'm a huge fan of masks, and I consider war paint to be a sort of mask. The war paint, along with the large, imposing physique and Native American trinkets make this design my favorite of the KI designs so far.

Now that this KI game has a dedicated grappler, I am now very interested in playing this game. The initial trailers had my curiosity, but the addition of a grappler now has my attention. It still currently being XBOne exclusive is the dealbreaker for me though. I'm holding out for a PC release. Fighting games on PC is the future.
 
Why the love for Kim Wu? Painfully boring and generic character. In fact, all of the KI2 characters sucked. Tusk was slightly cool but mostly because of his song. I'd be fine without any of them being in though. They just didn't fit in.

As far as Thunder, I didn't like the new design that much at first until watching the video where they explained the look. The dripping warpaint, the anguish, trying to make him look scary. It's all pretty cool.
