Its called Pixiv!Red. It seems they picked a mix between Classic!Red and FRLG!Red. I don't care which, I don't care what getting animated, how Red looks, as long as it doesn't have As* in it I'm happy.

Pretty sure it's because they based Red's design off of the FR/LG version. Which decidedly looks less badass than the original Red design (at least, IMO, the hat in the newer design is really uncool looking to me lol)

To be frank, FRLG Red look a lot better than the original. Maybe its because Ken Sugimori evolving art style. I think the one you thought badass is Pixiv!Red which is based on Classic!Red with more bishounen style (mostly).
