Sony Gamescom Press Conference Thread: Let Us Dream

Keeping expectations really low. Just footage of old games, release date in November, and Sports Champion 3 and Wonderbook PS4 at launch.
 
It was great to see Vita stuff. All in all I'm very pleased with the conference. Looking forward to November.
 
GAF, where gamers come to discuss things.. only the site is offline 99.999% of the time when anything important happens.

Maybe some of that delicious money should be invested back into the webzone? Just a thought.

Murasaki Baby looked good. I guess. For a couple of hours it will be fun, sure.
No powerful announcements, just a lot of WE LOVE INDIES and WE'RE OVERDELIVERING ON VALUE.
Shame really.

Oh well at least there's a release date now.

It was fucking awful, they should have just cut it down to the last 5 minutes.
 
So judging by my twitter feed the conference was pretty meh? Seems like the highlight was the Vita price cut, but there wasn't any original games announced with it.
 
Nothing really that outstanding in the conference.

Rime and Infamous Second Son looked awesome at least. *shrug*
 
That was a terrible conference, in fact there shouldnt have even been a conference. It was all just a rehash of things announced in earlier stage shows and a massive promotion for PS Vita and indie titles that only two people care about. Hey about about some live demos of exclusive PS4 games? Some new PS4 IP's? The Order 1866 gameplay? Update on Gaikai streaming? Something?

Nope, just PS Vita, Watch Dogs and AC: Black Flag again.
 
Holy shit that show was so bad omfg. I hate indie developers. Who cares about your wretched game you no-name hipster? Why exactly are you on the main stage instead of real big budget titles? I'm thinking that Microsoft giving the finger to indie developers was the best decision they could have ever done. You can't let these people get too much freedom. I'm cancelling my PS4 pre-order due to this conference and will be thinking of going either Xbox One for TitanFall or just going straight up PC gaming.
 
Oh and btw, ustream fucking sucks. Even the official app wouldn't let me stream it as it kept saying it was for adults, and wouldn't let me in.

It was a very good show. I'm fine with the launch date and it is well before Black Friday which makes things less of a hassle for people. I wish they had shown more Triple A big budget titles but we knew we weren't going to get much there. Instead we got a total flood of other games and they were quite diverse.

I think the show could have used Cerny being wheeled out in a tub to give the launch date just to satisfy NEOGAF.

One bit I didn't like was the exclusive levels/content. I wish Sony and Microsoft would just pile that money up and produce some more first party software with it. The content they buy is usually filler/junk anyways. It isn't like the developer is going to create must have content that gimps the other versions.

That being said, I'm glad to see a show not focused on the shooter crowd. The industry needs diversity otherwise it will die. It seems that Sony gets that. I just hope they can deliver that diversity in a big budget format someday.
 
Worth it for Borderlands 2 for Vita alone :P

And why are everyone mad? We got a Vita price cut, "significant" price cut on memory cards and saw AssCreed stream very smootly to the Vita.

It was a good conference. Enough content for a conference, lots of announcements.
 
I liked that they showed a lot of smaller, unique stuff. Makes you think it's not just going to be more of the same, all shooters all the time nonsense.

Oh, and Minecraft was a bit of a surprise.

Aaaand we're back. Nice lot of games they showed!

Love that they finally mentioned Twitch Streaming (I'm still willing to bet that there's also going to be a user configurable option as well...).

Need to see more on that UI! I am so glad they didn't fuck it up and toss all the XMB stuff away. My beloved XMB is still in there, just refined a bit :)
