Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

I have a feeling the patch replaces the original. Haven't had a chance to check though. It was weird seeing 2 downloads show up when I purchased it though.

Hopefully. In *checks* 9 minutes I can edit in if it was a complete replacement.

Edit: NOPE. Divekick is 1GB now.

sorry I asked in another thread but will probably be better suited here. I finally caved and bought The Walking Dead bundle from amazon. This is probably stupid being its Sony, but are the games region free? And is it like the PS3 where the region of the game must match the DLC, so if say I buy Killzone US but than buy DLC for it on my Australian account, will that DLC work?

Hey Gaf have a question about PS+.

I'll be deploying soon and my renewal date for PS+ is in November.
Is there a way to renew it now so that the end date isn't until next year? So that I can play all my PSP/Vita+ games while im away? Since a renewal in November won't do much for me since internet access will be very limited.

All games are region free on Vita.

I don't think DLC is though. Pretty sure the regions have to match. I know online passes work that way on Vita, at the very least.

You can just buy another year now and it'll stack with the time you have left.

Ahh ok. Wanted to be sure.
I'll hold out for a bit to see if PS+ goes on sale at all. For now i'll just start putting what I own only.

I can see it now:

"Bioshock 1 port announced for PS Vita."

Imagine the outrage.
I can see Bioshock Infinite being ported since it's the more recent game in the franchise.

I'm very excited for BL2. I loved the first game but decided to wait for a GotY Edition after seeing the huge number of DLCs in the game. Hopefully the Vita port includes some of the DLCs or maybe even bonus content.

Maybe already posted somewhere, but I saw that Borderlands 2 is being ported to Vita by Iron Galaxy. Im not sure what else they have done though.

Gamescom was a big win for me. Starbound, BL2, Minecraft, Helldivers, Fez, Rouge Legacy, etc are going to take away huge amounts of my time so im really excited about all that. Only two things I wanted, and did not get were a 64gb card, and some new proper first party games, but they announced more then enough to keep my occupied for a good while.

really curious how Minecraft Vita is going to play out, I really hope that its atleast the same as the PS3 version. As I suspect the PS4 version will be a bit too difficult to bring to a handheld. Rime was easy my game of the show, and lots of other stuff I want more info on. Hopefully TGS is atleast ad good as Gamescom has been.

Honestly, given Sony's poor job bringing over Epic Mickey, I can't imagine BL2 being anything but a sub native mess. I'd love to be surprised but we have a pretty bad history of major ports here.

The lack of a bigger memory card is hurting me :/
Had to delete Fifa 13 today and looking at all my future purchases there just isn't enough space.

For the new page. Also, is Divekick not up in the EU store? Can't find it.

EU store hasn't updated yet. It does around 14.00-17.00 CET every Wednesday.

Iron Galaxy are cool dudes. They made Divekick (simple game but it means they have Vita experience). Did ports for Bioshock Infinite (PS3 version), Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara and a bunch of fighting games like Darkstalkers, Marvel vs Capcom Origins and Street Fighter III Online.

Would have preferred Bluepoint, but I'm fairly confident in Iron Galaxy.

Divekick. They've also done a lot of porting work, like the PS3 version of BioShock Infinite and Darkstalkers and Street Fighter III for PSN/XBLA.

Edit: Beaten. Well, let me just add that their titles come enriched by the Lang Zone.

So what's vitagafs consensus on the conference?

8/10 for me - lots of great games, price drop, awesome remote play.

Memory cards still too small and expensive though :(

I kept my expectations in check and walked away from this conference very, very satisfied.

So much stuff coming for the Vita that I'm really excited about, and the remote play with PS4 is a great bonus.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I never played Borderlands 2, so I'm looking forward to playing it on the Vita. I don't buy every game, the moment it comes out, and then burn through it, so a lot of this stuff is new to me. Most of the ports shown off I've never played.

Pretty much my case. I think it was a very decent showing with a few surprises (FM and excellent Remote Play)

My only three disappointments with the conference were the lack of 64GB card, the not-that-significant memory card price cut and the lack of even one major first party game.

I still believe we'll see those first party games come though. And with all the amazing stuff announced, like Fez, Minecraft and BL2, we definitely have something to keep us busy.

I've never played Minecraft though. I'm just scared my life will go to hell if I do.

Don't worry. People like us who are desperate to see Japanese support on VITA can always look at TGS :D

I'm very much looking forward to TGS. I need more JRPGs!

Well... That IS true lol Japanese games are the ones I only really give a damn about. :D

TGS is for Japan and we don't get localizations announcements in it, and if we don't get localizations announcements of already announced/released Japanese games like Shinovi Versus, Diva F, God Eater 2 then waiting for TGS is just pointless (unless of courser you know Japanese).

Conference is pretty good for vita announcements. Definitely happy rogue legacy is coming to vita. At get borderlands 2 if it has all the doc packed in.

Still want a bigger memory card though.

I hope you guys are enjoying today's PSN releases. I'll be opening votes for next month's Game of the Month starting tomorrow, since the next update doesn't seem to have much significant content except for Sweet Fuse (and let's face it, that's not gonna get enough votes anyway).

Rogue Legacy was a pleasant surprise. Borderlands 2 didn't really click for me on PC so I'm only interested in the Vita port from an academic standpoint (its effect on unit sales and the quality of the port). Football Manager on the other hand is a good game that I'm not interested in but I'm happy is confirmed as well. That could be a system seller.

I only wish Minecraft was a Vita exclusive but I guess the publisher doesn't want to lose out on any sales of the PS4 and PS3 versions, can't blame them.

I'll be forever importing and switching accounts.

Wait. So the 400 Days DLC is included in the $19.99 price? the PSN blog just mentions the first season.

Correct, it's technically "The Complete First Season + 400 Days". Still beats the heck out of the $30 retail price for the PS3 version without the DLC.

Aren't there at least 4 Vita games (plus Sweet Fuse) out next week?

Floating God Cloud Saves the Pilgrims in HD
The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character
Real Boxing
Spelunky

I can see one or two of those being Game of the Month candidates.

Very happy with the announcements today. Looks like N++ will be ported to Vita too after the PS4 version is done

We really want N++ on Vita too! We’re going to try to make that happen, but since our team consists of only 3 people, we have to focus on the PS4 version first. Rest assured though, we’re on it!

Kept expectations to zero, came out unchanged so as expected. Happy people are happy about Borderlands 2 but since I don't care for FPS shooty games, eh. Closest I come to liking FPS games are Mass Effect and Bioshocks and Mirrors Edge, ones with more RPG elements and story based I guess. Guess i'm looking more forward to TGS though still setting expectations to zero, not seeing much of a change in output or support compared to last year at these events except the push to make a Vita an accessory to PS4.

Which I have to admit is working on me, except opposite. I still have my launch day PS4 preordered but the only couple games I would play at launch I can get on PS3 and I know KH and FFXV are years away. BUT, the draw of being able to use my Vita to play shit from my PS4 including DCUO is tantalizing to me. I know better to get a system at launch, and I need a new laptop...but...my b-day is two weeks after PS4 launch and thats how I would rationalize it. ugh...but I need a new laptop...

I was wondering about this. So there is no precedent of it? That's sad but expected. Still, I hope any nice Vita games announced are big enough to get localized.

I haven't bought it, but it says it's included on the Playstation store description of the game!

Just saw it. Nice to know it is included! :D

Left my Vita at home downloading Killzone Mercenary Vita, that pinball starwars thingie, and The Walking Dead Season 1.

I *almost* bought New Little King's Story, but stories about its technical deficiencies--particularly the lagging performance--worries me.

Also, fuck you Square:

Good, still so many indies that are PS4 only though :/
ResoGun, Galak-Z, Mercenary Kings, Don't Starve and Octodad.
Just imagine Octodad with rear touch controls.

You can always not turn in your votes until after the games are out if you want to vote for them. I usually stop taking votes 2 days before the end of the month anyway.

Borderlands is FPS loot heaven with skill trees and all that other RPG stuff.
