3DS Streetpass Experiences

I have a question so you can only have 10 street passes per play session so do you lose the ability to get more street passes until you've played with those 10 street passes or are they waiting in queue?

You can have 10 more in the queue while you play with the street passes you last collected.

I'm now 22/22 on Squad!
Doing Arcade mode was last and I got hit on 1-2 and thought it wasn't gonna go well. I managed to make it to 5-2 without taking another hit though and had 7 ships at the final boss.

Next I'm coming for you Garden!

The relays are so incredibly inconsistent for me. It's odd.

I work at a church that also rents out our building as a daycare during the week so I Streetpass kids day and night. What's funny is that I've noticed they've started buying whatever games they see me playing.

Good luck with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Shin Megami Tensei 4 kid.

With the relays you have to bear in mind a lot of people will walk the same or part route you are so they might be working fine, you're just getting the same Mii at each one and don't know it.

I'm ruining everyone's fun by hitting every single relay in a city.

I am about to finish my second Warrior's Way playthrough. I thought the final emperor was supposed to have 8 times the size of your army [when you first encounter him].
Well, either my math is faulty or I'm missing something: I have a 555,004 army, I was expecting to fight a 4 millions army and all I got instead was a 1 million confrontation. Not that I'm complaining, cause now way in hell I would be able to beat what I was expecting.

About the same here; I had a 2.7m or so army going in and am facing the Emperor's 5.8m. There's probably a sliding scale in play here if the 8x figure I've seen tossed around is still accurate.

If you live in the New York Area, or will be traveling to New York Comic Con, there will be a panel that discusses StreetPass and Pokemon, courtesy of StreetPass NYC, StreetPass Long Island, and Pokemon DS Meetup Group! There will be giveaways, Q&A, and more! For more info, check this out!

I just got a black XL last week. I work at a college campus and this is move in week, so I've had mine with me the past two days.

About 9 passes and all playing AC except one was in the eShop.

Yeah, I would like to know the logic behind it :P

Anyway, I beat the game again last night (2nd time), 555,004 vs 1,100,000. It went like this:
1. I chose rock, he chose scissors.
2. My army now is slightly bigger.
3. For the next 4 turns, I chose scissors and he also chose scissors.
4. I won after 1 victory and 4 ties in a row :D

Classes started. 5 streetpasses in two hours.

Anyone finish Warrior's Way? I'm on my second time through and seeing that the Emperor scales with your troops makes me wonder if I just screwed myself since I have almost 1.7 million troops going into the second last level.

Should I lose on purpose to get my numbers down? Or is it possible to win if you can't get the troops required easily?
(Admittedly, HomePass makes it a lot faster/easier).

Relay is really creepy when you receive a fantastic rating when meeting someone for the first time.

Finally, gold chests in mansion;
Candle cannon and I think N11 assault rife (currently using latter)
. Took a 3*5 room filling the middle 3. I'd say 3*5 is the safest as you still get gold even if you wind up with a Mii and storage room. 3*3 and 4*3 tend to only get silver (but some floors only have room for those).

If I assume the pieces size is evenly distributed (as 20% change of a piece with 1 square, 20% for 2 etc) then there are only 2 possibilities for triomino (10% chance of each?) unlike the 7 for tetrominos.

Also I got a game over in Squad. Stage 5-2, could not get beyond my starting Mii (Black) as their shots were too slow (plus I'm not great at these games...but blaming the Mii is easier). If I'd reached the second Mii (I was close, I saw them on screen but was unable to dodge bullets from two directions) I may have been in with a chance...in case anyone wonders (who has died before) you only get 3 attempts.

I wonder if forcing colour (via guests) can also work (as in force it to someone the non-new plants can not become), assuming it does force colour rather than give priority to that colour (where possible) for whatever was destined to grow.
I'd have to say it is probably priority. I just had a plant flower and a message pop up say the breed could not bloom in the persons favourite colour. I not check if the other possible breed could become the colour I chose so can not conclude if planting with another Mii only gives priority.

The most SP's I got from relays in a single day is 4. And that was yesterday. I'm satisfied with that.

man gamescom was awesome!

got around 130 passes (takes way more time to clear them all the passes with the new games. Jesus!)

all puzzles completed, 63 flowers, and more the doubled my army (700k to 1.6 million). oh and finally got the 100 passes in a day-archivment.

also: Mario 3D world looks AAAAAWWWEEESOME! Wiiu karaoke not so much.

Floor 18 is a real pain.

I've had to dismiss my last 4 passes because they don't fit. Including someone I could have teamed up with.

Got my first A rank weapon in mansion in the most unexpected place (what the weapon was and where it happened)
Drill of Doom +2 (no ability, level 2/30). I got it from turning down a team-up (along with a puzzle box I think I've done before and still couldn't get the par time). It did not check the stat boost I would have gotten from teaming up (I do not know if that can used to predict these things).
Need to find a storage box soon as I think its got about 80 items in there (I need to combine/sell a lot).

Not why it's creepy. Relay allows for you to receive a fantastic despite never having seen the person before because it's strictly one-way.
Come to think of it, at least it was not a personal message...now that would be creepy. Great, I've got ideas now :(

Yep, when you turn down a team-up, you just get a random item from that person's inventory, which may or may not be their currently equipped weapon (which you will be visible on the person).

How long do you have to be at the relay spot before it registers? I haven't timed it, but sometimes I think I just walk by a Starbucks and the greeen light will come on and other times I'll be buying a coffee and check it after being there for a minute, and nothing but by the time I leave the light comes on. Seems inconsistent.

Same here. Nintendo's FAQ says to wait 1-2 minutes, for what it's worth.

I took the leap and got the full bundle today. First off I was blown away by Mii Force, I was expected a more simplified stripped down shmup but it feels like a true faithful arcade experience, it is totally a "real game" I could recommend to fans of the likes of Gradius and Twinbee. It even takes a different approach to its use of streetpasses than all the other games, giving you extra power ups that help you but are still not completely vital to playing the game, and having leaderboards including anyone you pass who plays the game is a sweet extra.

I kinda don't fully get the appeal of Flower Town yet, I haven't had many streetpasses since getting it so I can't tell how deep it gets but so far it sorta feels like a simple streetpass = acquire stuff situation like the puzzle panels except slightly less rewarding.

Warrior's Way is the one I was expecting to be the most into because of how much it resembles other games I enjoy, but then I screwed up my strategy in the first battle because I didn't realize how it works, still unsure about it but it seems promising.

Monster Manor is the most surprising title, I thought it was going to be something like a weird Mario Party-ish board game thing, I was really not expecting it to be a legit dungeon Crawler RPG, it seems the most well thought out game next to Mii Force and I can't wait to get further into it. It's the true successor to Find Mii I never knew I wanted.

I've got a few streetpasses recently while driving or in a car. No idea if it's the relay system or what but it's happened probably half a dozen times in the past month. One time was at 7 in the morning too.

Also finally got a piece from the M&L puzzle so I'm all caught up and have all panels again. Was a pink piece too which was extra nice!

I'm still all natural. Getting around 30 a week. But I'm still a little disappointed that Relay hasn't turned the world into a Streetpass paradise.

10-15 seems like the maximum I'm going to be able to pull in a single day.

Hopefully we can continue to see new Nintendo Zones pop-up.

Omg, Epic Kirby Hat is the best one so far.

Tagged 4 females today. I still don't have the achievement for passing 5 in a row.

Went to fanexpo down in in Toronto, I streetpassed like crazy today, holy shit. Must have gotten at least 50 streetpasses today. I eventually just stopped checking.

Progress report:

  • Mii Force: 21/22 tickets (114/120 reputations, the only ticket I'm missing)
  • Flower Town: 50/80 breeds. 16/22 tickets.
  • Warrior's Way: 19/22 tickets (missing hire 20 bands, greet 100 times, battle 300 times). Army size: ~5,500,000.
  • Monster Manor: 21st floor, 39 weapons collected (still no S rank ones, though). 20/22 tickets (missing 30th floor and collect 40 weapons).

I have to find 15$ somewhere so I can get the streetpass games for prime.
i just had to spend $15 on gas. fuck

My first thought: if finding $15 is that much of a hardship maybe it's better not to be spending it on luxuries?

Second: I actually kind of miss the time the new games weren't around because they take far too long to clear - it used to take a minute or two to finish a queue, and now it takes upwards of 15 if you want to do -everything-.

I live in Aurora, Colorado and sometimes, I'm the first person to get to those relay stations. Although, last night, I did attend our Streetpass Aurora group meeting. They have meet ups at least once or twice a month. Maybe we'll do more in the future. The last one we went into was kind of general 3DS/DS stuff. it used to be more Pokemon related and now it's more Animal Crossing related. Although a good portion of that first half hour to an hour is all the new Streetpass Plaza games. Gotta build an army!

Woot! 100 passes in a day achievement get (not that I cared for it, but still).
Shoot. Was hoping there were only 30 weapons, as I'm nearly there. New weapons coming really slowly, and gold chests are near impossible to get unless you happen on an exact large piece to perfectly complete an large room. :(
It's all about patience. I dismiss a lot of pieces. Making a 5x3 or a 7x3 room helps greatly.
And I just got my first S rank weapon :D

Edit:

You just got yourself a "Fantastic!" rating!
I always give fantastic to everybody :P

I get my paycheck friday, but that's going to hotel mostly. I had to pay bills and as such am behind when i should have been ahead.

I only got two passes from Bristol, which was decent considering I managed to avoid the main retail areas.

Both people had bought the Streetpass games, so I can conclude that Bristol is 100% hardcore.

So my fears were confirmed. 3DS sound is not good for relay.

I need to do a little more test but it seems if you're playing an MP3 the internet functions cease to work, meaning no relay possible. Regular streetpass still works though. If 3DS sound is open but you've not started to plan an MP3 the relay still seems to work.

Makes me wonder if some games behave like this too.

Its just something to bear in mind if relays have not worked well for you (yes, I do use the 3DS as an MP3 player, in particular on train journeys*).

Also I got two first streetpasses in a row (as in both Miis were 1 plaza 0 hits). Plus one of them had the piece I needed to finish the Kirby puzzle panel (Super Mario galaxy 2 is my only 15 piece one left, the 24 piece puzzles are more complete than it though).

*-Guess I need to add that to the routine, when train stops at platform, hit home button (assuming Nintendo zone from whatever cafe is connectible from the train).

and gold chests are near impossible to get unless you happen on an exact large piece to perfectly complete an large room. :(
3*4 gives me some success with Gold chests (in the 0-2 range really depending on if storage rooms or Miis mess that up). Filling in the 2 in the middle is not too hard (as there is only one possible 2 piece). 3*5 is not too bad odds-wise either.

If you ever find the paint pot item it might be worth keeping in your inventory if you want to go for a super large room (outline then when the piece to fill it comes you can change it to be the right colour).

There is a bit of luck between setting up rooms on suitable floors (and the random initial placement* on floors being good colours) and finding the stairs. Then there is the what colours do I rarely streetpass (assume play coin colours are even), in my case Green, Orange, Pink are very rare but blue is common.

*-The placement is the same for all players, its the colours that are not.

Streetpassing Toys R Us demos and switching location and stuff has given me some questions.

1. What setting on the 3DS makes incoming streetpasses come up as generic male/female ???'s? One of the local Toys R Us demo stations is doing that.
2. Is there a way to turn off streetpassing "silently" - like, it's enabled in the "activated street pass games", activated in the game itself, the networking is on, but it receives no street passes?
3. Does street passing disable for a certain amount of time if you switch your location? It can sometimes seem to take over a day for me to re-streetpass my fiancee's unit when I switched to give her a different location.

I think the initial color you get when you start a new floor is either the color you found the stairs to that floor with, or the active color for the turn you're using. Will have to check that when I have a chance.

It's been pretty random how often my two 3DSes pass each other even if I change nothing; sometimes they pass each other three times a day, sometimes they get upset with each other and don't talk for days at a time. Never figured out any pattern to it but changing hats every so often seems to help (though I've been changing my hats every single time to get Fantastic ratings).
