Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

Alright, we're back online.

As per the sound advice of baekshi, quote to see. For anyone who has already added themselves, I've added a new column asking if you have PS+, so update yourselves accordingly!

Curses!

While you're at it Aytrial, you can add me to it since I forgot to yesterday. Right~?

Do it yourself you lazy bastard.

Done.

Haha the unholy abomination. So... weird?

Added myself to the spreadsheet.

PSN is also in profile in case anything bad happens.

Also with my 5 games I feel largely inadequate.

How's Unit 13 in the grand scheme of things? I've been wanting to try it out, hoping it goes on PS+ IGC soon!

I'm really liking the Indie Avanlanche from Gamescom! So many games to look forward to :D

Can't wait for my copy of Sly: Thieves in Time to arrive! I really hope they update PSASBR again... Maybe a new gameplay mode or something to make it more like Smash...

I need to get back to it, but it's pretty competent and if you're the type that goes score chasing I can see someone getting a lot of satisfaction out of it. Eventually I think what put me off it for a while was that when I bought it, I'd just played some Golden Abyss before it, and was used to the gyro aiming. Unit 13 doesn't have that, and honestly, with the Vita sticks, I'd take the option gyro aiming every time. It'd be a great freebie.

I finished not too long ago fellow GAFfer.

The game is actually decent but it may get a little boring once you see that some maps may be the same with a little variation/different objectives to it.

Only tried Co-op one time and it seemed fun. The different Class of Operatives you can choose is also good.

You have Different Missions, Time based, Steath Based, etc. I hate those that you need to finish under a certain time, because, I take my time with my games.

Aside from those Missions and Co-op you can have Dynamic Missions which you don't know how hard/easy they can be before you start the mission and you also have some missions that if you die you start all over (High Value Targets) however, for these you need to unlock them by getting Stars on the other Missions.

If you like the genre and the price is right I would say go for it good sir!

Been travelling for most of the last month (and probably next) so Vita has become by platform of choice by default.
Gone all digi and some fantastic deals on the store -LBP Vita for £5 was a bargain, and I've foun d myself enjoying Resistance: BS more than I would have thought possible.
Just added self to the GAF list btw - gragy79

Thanks man! Hope you've been well!
I'm kinda still waiting for a sale on it or if the recent bundle means people are letting it go for cheap, I may give it a try!

It's a 3rd Person Shooter? With KZ:M so near, I guess I should just hold out.

Can't wait for KZ:M!

Unit 13 has a demo, why not try it out?

If you're Plus member you really shouldn't buy it even at that price. I'm almost certain it will be free in November. Personally I got it the day it came out. Awesome game. It's the only LBP game I've put a good amount of time in to.

Yes, I've been doing okay Wil and I hope you are fine too. Unit 13 is a 3rd Person Shooter indeed. I can see you holding since Killzone is so close, I usually don't play two similar genres at the same time so I feel you.

Regarding Killzone I might end up getting it and board on the hype train, let's see how the Wallet will make this month, amazon.uk have a decent price but I was thinking of getting it in a local store in here. I played the Beta and the game looks amazing indeed. I really hope I can get it.

But for me the most desired games right now are FF HD in Physical form. Oh please let it be a physical form of this two games for the Vita, I need to save my short space on my Memory Card, argh.

I just added myself to the list of Vita users.

Aytrial in my first try I sent you an email, begins by Alejandro, that was before quoting, sorry to bother you.

I played some of the Episode V table and was kinda disappointed. After playing a lot of Pinball Arcade everything just feels too floaty. The physics don't feel right, and that specific table didn't have the kind of ramps that I'd want.

I'll try the other tables tonight.

I don't know...I rather like Zen's floaty feel. Enthusiasts scoff at it, lol, but it tends to make things more accessible for clueless folks like me. I've always hated traditional pinball because I sucked at it. Hard. Anyhow, I'm mostly drawn to Zen's presentation. The table designs are so imaginative and polished. I haven't played much Pinball Arcade since it wouldn't install on the vita when they offered it through PS+, but it appears to be working now!

BTW, @omg_mjd...I just beat your Episode V score. Bow before me.

VitaGAF make buy games that I wouldn't even look at. Though all of them are certainly good games.
I feel you Vitabrother. A combination of of VitaGaf an PS Plus has made me purchase faaar more games than I thought. It's a great thing, really, as I have tons o games to keep me busy for a looooong time.
Edit:

How much is LBP Vita on the US store for PS+ members? Away from wifi this week so can't check
Just checked the web store. Says 35.99 :(

I liked it a lot but I think a big part of how much you will like it depends on how much you like mission based gameplay over story/setpieces. There is bot plot to the game. It is essentially a series of different mission types where the goal is to achieve the perfect run.

I've pretty much filled my 32 gb card... I don't consider myself to be an overly "hardcore" gamer but here I am, out of space.

I've no problem with deleting and reinstalling games whatsoever... Until I checked out the complete clusterfuck that is the download list. It has, everything, just lumped together? They couldn't have let you create a custom list?

Hat would've been so easy... Tag games that you want to add to your custom list - kind've like a playlist on an iPod.

Anyway, I'll have to come up with something... I don't really want to go physical.
If you know what game you want to download, I'd just use the search. I only use the download list if I'm not sure what to play next and kind of want to page through my digital collection to see if any of them interest me at that time.

Hi guys, I need an advice

Burnout Legends or Burnout Dominator? Which one would you recommend to someone who has appreciated Burnout Revenge?

That's not what he said or meant at all.

He said that GT6 is to demanding for the Vita and after that he talked about a Ps4 version which we clould play on Vita via RemotePlay.
To me that sounds like there won't be a GT for Vita and we should be satisfied with remote playing a Ps4 GT at some point.

Have they changed how Near worked? I used it for the first time in a while a few days ago, and got a couple of game things, but I haven't gotten anything since then.

They're both great, but I'd probably recommend Dominator more, considering it feels very much like a direct follow-up to Revenge. Exact same gameplay features, just on different tracks. The damage models in it were improved over Legends, too.

There is someone that has the complete version of Killzone Mercenary and want to try the multiplayer? The servers are now up and I would like to play, if there is someone send me a PM with the PSN user id !

Do they work on PS Vita? Because they are not in the Vita store and the PSN says that they are compatible only with PSP...

EDIT: I'm from EU

Conception2 and mind zero..
I want them both but i'll get nei their in english...
Soooo cool!
Impressions for Mind≒0 weren't great; seems like the game is half-baked. We're getting Demon Gaze though, so you can sate your FPDC itch with that. it's also a better game, supposedly

...I hadn't checked that thread in a while and it looks kind of like Gaijinworks is looking into Mind≒0 localization even if the game's kinda meh. I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened since they have close ties with Zerodiv/Acquire, so we might see an English version anyway. Just don't get your expectations too high...

Just got a Vita a couple days ago. Been hoarding games on PS+ and I never had a PSP so there are plenty of games to catch up on. First I played Maverick Hunter X, now I'm playing Gravity Rush. Only 1.5 hours in so far, but already hoping they make a sequel. :)

First purchases I make after my free games will be Stardust Delta, Velocity Ultra and P4G.

The hardware is absolutely beautiful. The buttons are too cramped and the speakers get covered by my hands sometimes but I'm sure I'll adjust.

This 4gb card is going to be an issue though.

So you are telling me that a game made by Acquire is half baked? *Nicolas Cage you don't say.jpg*

Acquire guys are the master of crap, all their released games are Janky and need more work, not sure why GungHo bought them (then again GunHo also bought Grasshopper Manufacture which is even worse)

I'm expecting Rain to be garbage as well if it's fully developed by Acquire and not co-developed with Japan Studio.
