Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

The Sak already put THREE Kirby characters in Brawl. I think we can safely peg him for slight favoritism.

It took three games for those two additions, and, that game also came with only one new Kirby stage. Also, at the time of Brawl, at least, with Donkey Kong still dead, Kirby pretty much was Nintendo's number 2 platformer in sales.

if krystal is in i'd be happy cause im a starfox fanboy
altho if she does i'd find her a unneccessary addition as theres already 3 starfox chracters and she would need to be drastically different than the others

Me too. I think there's room for more than one staff user in the game. Besides, she'd also have a gun.

I got a feeling someone would be "into" that kind of thing.

I'm expecting a screen of Ridley's cameo in the Pyrosphere stage this week and a new character the following week (a month after Luigi) to make people forget about Ridley's exclusion.

Not a problem as (1) they are trophies anyway and not the actual characters, so it can be handwaved. and (2) they could say viridi is doing it instead, since there is no way she's going to be chosen as the playable Uprising character.

Yep, his power of flight changes color depending on who's giving it to him. It could be a small detail that's changed based on if he's fighting Palutena or not.

I really hope Palutena gets in.
Sakurai said that he doesn't want to play favoritism, but we well know that he's gonna favorite the shit out of Uprising, so I'm pretty confident she'll be in too.
Also I think that the female Wii Fit Trainer was chosen also because Sakurai listens to that "There aren't enough females in Smash Bro" shit, so Palutena fits even better.
I only hope she doesn't suck like Zelda in Brawl.
Damn she sucked (well to be honest basically every Zelda character sucked in Brawl, except maybe Toon Link).

Actually, Zelda's pretty good, she's one of my mains. Going back to Melee and playing Zelda is a HUGE step down.

Not sure if mentioned (and not that it affects SSB at all), but Pac-Man returns in the new Mario Kart Arcade GP DX. Here's the design used (GP2 art below for reference as well):

Exact same design used in Hot Shots Gold: World Invitational (...what?), where he is DLC.

You can tell Namco wants to promote the new design. Honestly, I don't mind it the Pac-Man Party design at all (personally, I wouldn't make his hands look like they are removable, but otherwise it's decent), but I take issue on Pac-Man's depiction in Ghostly Adventures. First of all, the creepy teeth. But most importantly, Pac-Man is supposed to be a gentleman, not some goofy teenager. If said design is used on that context (and without the creepy teeth), I'll take it. If that's not supposed to be the Pac-Gentleman, I'd rather they use the GP2 design.

That's just the art they're using for it. Have we seen his model in gameplay yet?

Just a curious thought, would anyone be dissappinted in Roy if he came back?

Say he gets his own completely different moveset.

I would. I'd like a Fire Emblem villain for once. Or just an FE mage or someone that used an Axe or Lance.

It's either hand to hand or swords with all the characters.

At least your honest. Ha. I haven't played any Fire Emblem games before, but who would you choose to represent that? Or who is even a known villain?

The Pac-Man Party design was good, for some reason the new design with teeth and fingers creeps me out a bit.

Ghostly Adventures is also kinda weird, based on the episode I saw where he gets a bunch of zits, inflates, and starts farting around the city. (wut)

Great Sacred Treasure would be boss.

I'll always prefer the Three Sacred Treasures to the Great Sacred Treasure because armors > mechs given Pit's theory level of mobility and the bullet hell he could start with the former.

Also, #TeamPalutena. It'd be criminal if she weren't playable.

I love Roy to bits, but I would be disappointed if he came back; he's just not relevant and I don't see him becoming relevant over other Fire Emblem characters.

I think Nergal might actually be the best known Fire Emblem villain worldwide. Not really all that many convincing choices. Dragons would be cool but not that easy to implement and little generic at the same time. Nergal has cool backstory too :)

Camus is pretty pop. Although I'm all for Dark Emperor Hardin or any mage.

Knowing my luck you'll get a Chrom/Lucina double unit.

My favorite choice for new FE rep is Leif since he's someone who's been a main character and also been able to use swords, axes, lances, magic, staves, and bows in the same class. Too bad it will never, ever happen. =I

ghirahim and krystal are terrible characters I don't want them in

I'd love to see Palutena or Hades.
.
As for Fire Emblem characters...Chrom or bust. I can't really imagine anyone else that would make it.

Also, am I the only one thinking of maining Bowser in SSB4?

Mained him in Brawl and definitely potential of doing the same this game.

Really like how he's got a bit more of a re-vamp than most character seem to have gotten, the only real disappointment I've suffered is the loss of the Gimpyfish combo.

I am sorry, where why what who how even do you even figure this. In every game he has a personality, he is just determined and smiling. How do you even get gentleman from that?

Here's a thing I made a few months ago just before smash 4 was unveiled, a bingo chart!

So far only Megaman has a spot.

There won't be any surprises this time around I think. A 101 character is a certainty, Fredrick is a certainty, a Xenoblade/X character is a certainty, and Pauletina and mega-mewtwo are probably going to get in as well. I think those + Megaman, Villager, Wii-Fit person/thing are going to be it for the newcomers.

I bet no one new from Metroid, Star Fox, or F-Zero shows up, and definitely no super fanboy characters like Crono or Geno.

But look at his hat!

Everything in that look suggests a determined, polite adventurer with principles. In Ghostly Adventure all he does is burp. :(

The model used in Hot Shots resembles the Party design rather than the show if that says anything.
Ah, indeed. I just noticed the fingers (the lack thereof really).

You have a very strange interpretation of the word certainty.

Yeah that is like one version of pac man, in a bunch of other versions while he may not be as teen-age -ey , he however is silly yet determined. And hatless, most versions of pac man actually. He is a determined silly guy, new pac-man isnt much different. He shouldn't have the creepy teeth, but besides that, not that different.

I just started playing Fire Emblem yesterday, but I am assuming you are talking about the Fredrick from that game. How is he a certainty? Chrom, sure, but Fredrick?

Say he gets his own completely different moveset.

Well, it seem that he is supposedly to keep his B move since Marth got new B move which is stabbing animation.

Technically yes, but come on. He completely reinvented her, giving her a strong personality (one of the best Nintendo females out there, if not the best).
Palutena is Sakurai's now.

That's true. I'm rooting for Palutena to be in the game but I don't really have high hope for it since we know how Sakurai could be modest about his works.

Is he a magic user? What does he do?

Also, am I the only one thinking of maining Bowser in SSB4?

Bowser is one of my main in Melee and Brawl, so you can expect me to work on him in SSB4. I'm hyped for his new "wrestling" moveset.

I'm just saying he could very well end up looking like this in-game since it's very similar.

I would be okay with that Pac-Man, not new Pac-Man with teeth.

Who is Fredrick lol?

Fire Emblem character from 3DS.

I would be willing to bet we're getting Dixie Kong for two reasons. She was apparently planned for Brawl since she is one of the "forbidden seven" found on Brawl's disc, and that she's back in the spotlight thanks to Tropical Freeze.

I was honestly hoping for K. Rool until E3 this year. I'm fairly positive either Nintendo or Retro wants the Kremlings to take a hike.
