I don't remember any Earthbound fans being "happy" Ness wasn't in the starting roster, especially since he was in Melee.
 
Marth's beautifully trimmed, boyishly handsome, lavender scented blue pubes, will be in Smash 4. Don't get silly now.

That's for Melee though. The situation was clearly different by the time Brawl was released.

Does this mean they wanted Ness as the hero of Mother 3 originally or wanted Ness removed from brawl altogether?

Sakurai was going to replace Ness with Lucas in Melee, but didn't go through it due to Mother 3's delays.

Regarding Marth, let's not forget that he was in that art done by the staff of the new Smash Bros.

While that actually happened on many forums for some odd reason. Luigi in his 2nd banana position is on a whole other plane that marth, so that comparison isnt really apt. For most people fire emblem characters are just the weird characters with the swords, metriod is a robot and why isnt goku in this game.

It took me a long while to find the least insulting version of this. I do not think smash is the kind of game heads will roll for fire emblem. There would be some yelling, rolling heads, if marth isnt in that cross over game with SMT yeah sure.

You are right, Marth is on a different plane. He owns Fire Emblem airlines.

If the excuse for getting rid of Marth is to pander to non-fans then how exactly is that fan service?

I still don't see why we can't have Marth, Ike, AND Lucina/Chrom. With how popular Awakening was both in Japan and overseas, I wouldn't be surprised if Fire Emblem ended up with three, or even four reps (though four might be pushing it, you never know).
 
Donnel should have a spot in the game, where he starts off extremely weak but the longer he stays in battle, the stronger he gets, until every move is a one hit KO

I don't think you realize how important and popular Marth is, specially in Japan. He's the only FE character that I can imagine fans giving legitimate "WTF?" reactions if he weren't in.

I like Lucina, BTW, but I don't see her being a choice before Chrom or even Robin. Seriously, have people considered Robin a.k.a. the Avatar? Considering Villager and Wii Fit Trainer made it in, I don't think the customizable FE character is too far-fetched an option.

I do, I like fire emblem. However I understand this is smash bros. Heads rolling reaction to me is like not buying the game stuff like that. While yes, this last fire emblem did well, I do not think there are enough fire emblems fans to have that much of an effect sadly. Mew two was taken out of the last version of the game. You think the catfetus that marked a generation would have gotten some flack for being left out, nope. You would have to scew up a lot of stuff to make smash bros not sell.

You and I may have different definitions of heads rolling, mine is a direct effect on their bottom lines. That xbone crap was heads rolling, HEAT was heads rolling. This... " hey were are the swords dudes, oh is metriod still in"
 
They can cut all of the FE characters if it means I get Hades.

Actually, just cut the current FE characters
and put one in from Sacred Stones.

Hmm Oh I was just talking about fire emblem making "heads roll".

I am just saying that while I would like fire emblem to be a big enough franchise in this situation to make heads roll it isn't.

As far as the far as the marth thing goes, Maybe they don't. You could be right, cannot argue that really.
