If you want a good idea of Smash on 3DS, watch the eShop videos from Sakurai's development thing they showed at E3. It shows the game and the video appears to be running at a high FPS as it looks smooth and sharp even though the video's cut into half (thanks to the 3DS border they use for videos).

I made some good money back in high school as a BK employee. The bags with the figures had serial code like numbers on them that let you know which character was in the bag. Between completionists and Pikachu fans, money was good.
