Spider-Men 2 is still coming right? Will be interesting to see how Spock interacts with him.
If it is Spock, could be Bendis is waiting for Pete to come back.

This Wednesday.Does anyone know the specific date for when Forever Evil comes out?
Thanks!This Wednesday.
Sometimes they feel like the delayed comic publisher. Saga's delays make me want to drop it, despite loving it (the most recent issue was quite disappointing after a three month wait), and I'm just waiting for Ten Grand to do the same to me. I'm glad I dropped Jupiter's Legacy after that hot pile that was the first issue. I realize it's not every series, but it has happened to me just enough to sour me. I do appreciate what they are doing though.
Two more trades left of Scalped. Goddamn this is a phenomenal book. I'm going to be sad when I have nothing further to read with these characters
Does Jason Aaron have any original or creator-owned stuff on the horizon? I want more from him.
Southern Bastards is going to be fucking rad. That and Black Science are my two most anticipated Image titles.
That's gonna be awesome but maaaaaaaaaaaan Aaron+Latour and Remender+Scalera jus' too strooooong.Pretty Deadly tho

Southern Bastards
By Jason Aaron and Jason Latour
A southern fried crime comic.
Coming Soon in 2014[/I]
Wouldn't surprise me if they began doubling trades up into hardcovers within the next year or two. Vertigo's doing that now with 100 Bullets and DMZ.I'm hoping that Scalped gets some kind of omnibus treatment. That's when I'll continue with the series. Since I already know I'll want it all, I might as well get a pretty collection.
I just read Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #22. Good God, man-what a punch to the gut. This comic is so good-I love Miles Morales. I hope the rumors of the impending end to the Ultimate Universe aren't true.
The rumors are he'll just be folded into the 616, which solicits tend to support.
It had to happen-I feel this comic is important. It's hard to explain why....
Yep, Pretty Deadly and Velvet are my most anticipated.

It is! 36 comes out this week. Layman said that 30 was the half way point so it looks like it'll be 60 issues total. Is Chew still going? I just finished vol 3 and I am loving it. Is it set to end soon? Don't wanna google it for fear of spoilers. Al a Saga.

Do i need to read anything before i get into Batman Incorporated?
I think it's safe to say that that's what's going to happen. But Ultimatum was initially planned to be the same thing, and we remember how that turned out.
I don't see why they wouldn't bring the Ultimate Universe back somewhere down the line. They're all about that $$$ after all.
I would say yes. Just read all of Grant Morrison's run.
How about Death of the Family?
To be honest, I kind of hope they don't. The Ultimate universe had it's time, it was flawed and poorly handled at times, and got so big in it's own continuity that it's original purpose (bringing in potential new comic readers without bogging them down with established canon) became entirely pointless.

Wait will that end Ultimate Spider Man? fuck that. Miles is awesome.
He's one of the best "new" characters Marvel has introduced in a long long time. He feels very real and sympathetic - something that hasn't happened at all with Kid Nova, who I really can't stand. Miles is someone I want to follow forever.
So essentially this. Marvel, don't fuck this up. I follow so few of your books already. Don't drive me away.

Hopefully Miles grows so popular as a "teen character" when he makes his entry to 616 that Marvel decides to ditch Alexander and finally bring Rich back. I need the proper Nova back written by a decent writer (I like Wells, I'd be cool with him on creative duties).
I'm confident that Rich will be back within a year though since if GotG is a box office success, a Nova movie will be on the horizon (I have faith not-Nova won't be in the movie).
...so was anyone else here nearly as disappointed with Death of the Family overall?
Replacing a beloved main character is a tricky thing. People love Richard Ryder-and his non-reappearance makes no sense now that Star Lord and Thanos are back. To not even mention him and have this bland character be the new and "only" Nova feels unsatisfactory to me, personally-especially since the "sole surviving Nova" story was done so much better with Rich. You know, I don't quite understand the massive amount of hate that Sam has. I myself am interested in Nova in general, and I've heard some good things about the current Marvel Now series along with any of the past runs that may be right up my alley, so I know very little on my own. Is it simply because he replaced Richard, or...?
They couldn't go too extreme due to what Morrison had planned in Inc, so they went for the emotional damage angle. So it was a bit disappointing, but the story still works. It was the death of the family, no one trusts Bruce after all that.

So speaking of alt-spideys, is 2099's appearance short lived or is it part of a plan to reintroduce him too?
fair, and i get letting Grant do the deed in his own book, but for me it made the moment kinda hollow...like say marve's civil war, letting Brubaker pull the trigger left Millar's crap ending even more worthless. i was digging that book but it was sometime around then i realized Mark should never get any coffee because coffee is for closers, and hes' a concept man
I found it to be underwhelming overall. It had a steady buildup and then - SURPRISE! Nothing fucking happened. Snyder is a fucking cocktease.
I've gone back to read Avengers vs X-Men from last year, in preparation for A+X and some of the other runs this year as I'm realising I've missed out on a bit of that back story.
So far I've read #1 and #2, but are there any tie-ins that are considered "mandatory" or even beneficial as I'm going through AvX?
No. That series was bad-not Age of Ultron bad, mind you. Everything major happens in the main titles. I never read any of the tie ins.

Now Miles taking over for Ultimate Peter - that was done with love and respect. I think the whole setup for Peter's death, Miles reverance for him and the Spider-Men series really went a long way to set a place for Miles at the table. It feels like Miles SHOULD be there-where Sam feels like he's there as a temp until Richard Ryder come back.
Oh man, don't get me started on Jonah and Aunt May, something really significant in 616 (stuff like becoming mayor and getting married isn't enough) needs to happen with those two, I feel that Marvel needs to deal with JJ's Spidey hatred sooner or later in a way where he gets actual development, playing around in circles for decades is just getting stale. I really liked it in the old 90's cartoon where his first wife was killed by a masked robber, editorial should have retconned that into continuity and used it as a great starting point to move his character forward. It makes a hell of a lot more sense for him to distrust people who mask their identities because of personal trauma rather than the dated Stan Lee era thing with his son being "upstaged" by Spider-Man.
For me I think it's mainly because the "teen hero learning about his history as a superhero descendant" story has been done really well over the past years with the awesome comic series Invincible, Robert Kirkman of all people pulled it off better than Jeph Loeb ever could. Sam's story feels like generic teenage superhero stuff rather than a story about a guy who takes his situation in stride. His attitude is stuff I've seen in tons of books, cartoons and movies, I'd rather have him be a little "different", it's hard to explain. It's probably mainly me though, I just hate how they sidelined the badass who was bagging Gamora every night (if they gave Richard his own separate book I probably wouldn't be as salty), you can still enjoy it! Miles on the other hand feels like a brand new character and way more real to me for some reason, I think it's how he can be so innocent and upbeat in bad situations.
Also, Loeb named the guy after his dead son for some stupid reason and is currently pushing him hard in the bad Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.
This as well, Peter-to-Miles was given a great setup through a well-done storyline, Sam came out of nowhere.
