His first wife's death was never a thing in the comics? That is weird, and here I thought it was just another thing they adapted into the 90's cartoon. Problematic, definitely, but made more sense than "Spider-Man one-upped my son...welp, here's to 50+ years of hating him".

EDIT: Apparently according to ComicsVine's entry he had "someone close to him" killed by a robber when he was a young boy so it looks like I was wrong, it's been incorporated in some fashion. Sorry about the misinformation everyone!
Thank you my fellow comics brah, I'm off to Loeb's house to threaten him into quitting Marvel Animation and going mainly into creator-owned comics. Rafa can tag along if he wants, I'll let him throw in some shots at him and then also get him a job at Marvel! I wonder what PR speak Alonso will be able to give when under threat from my ring, I'll "Vibranium-in-Charge" him if he refuses to give the job out.
I wanted to say thank you for all the great tipps you guys gave me yesterday. Thanks a lot guys.
It's hard to share a flat with someone you love and then you are moved to your own guest room to sleep. Went out with a friend for a few drinks yesterday and a long talk. Did hurt like hell. Had to share the guest room with him. 8 Hours sleep in two days now, not even those real sleep but more or less half-sleep-half-awake terrors as my body tries to ajust to a reality that should not be.
In 11 minutes I wanted to start to work, in a bit over two hours a fucking important meeting is scheduled and I'm somewhere in All-Star Superman and don't give a fuck about research, conferences, peer-reviews and all the stuff for the moment. Powered through Invincible Omnibus 1. Was nice. Looking forward to move to alternate history and bio stuff this evening.
It's on my stack. Haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been catching up on anime like a motherfucker this weekend. So much so that I can almost feel my muscles starting to atrophy.

I disagree, somewhat. It's always nice to have more non-white characters in mainstream comics, and honestly, the way they could've brought this into the 616 universe could've been a lot more contrived and stupid than it ended up being.
I have nothing against non-white characters in mainstream comics, my issue here is that they're FORCING a character to appear in any scenario where original Nick Fury would appear in.
I like the character in the Ultimate-verse, I was happy to see the Ultimate-verse Nick Fury being used for the Avengers movie, but what Marvel is doing is plain stupid.
They did, IMO, a better job with Nick Cage in Avengers.
Bleed over happens all the time. It's just been more obvious with Marvel because of the success of the movies. Ultimate Nick Fury has wide ranging recognition over OG Fury.
The only thing about it that confuses me is that Nick Fury Jr is supposed to be Nick Fury's kid, right? Cause he doesn't look mixed race to me. Shouldn't he have a lighter skin tone than Ultimate Sam Jackson Nick Fury?
Oh, and how is Miller's Nemesis? The owner of a comic shop recommended it for as a gift to a friend. I already have it and can't return it but want to hear what members here have to say about it.
Batman Superman #3. Jae Lee is really killing it with his art. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Greg Pak's writing. Pretty cool to see how Bruce and Clark met and I think this is the best issue yet, but it just hasn't "clicked" with me yet.
It is a retcon. It is something that, as a comic fan, you just learn to live with. They usually happen if one writer wants to do away with something another did in the past, or to try and make for a better story, if the previous continuity is deemed too restrictive.
So to answer your question,
assume that the younger versions are the main Earth pair until told otherwise.

Bolded for most anticipated, although TMNT and ANXM are always good too. Actually a pretty good week all round.
No, Pak told us in interviews that he will explain how this fit's in regards to the E2 title and the JL series.
Quite regular comic storytelling trope - they will lose their memories or the memories will get sealed until a point in time when it becomes necessary for Prime Earth Supes and Bats to remember
.
Otherwise - Right on!
And LIST:
X-Men: Battle for the Atom #1
All New X-Men #16
Infinity #2

Batman #23.1
Forever Evil #1

I liked the old-time-y part of the first issue of Jupiter's Legacy. The modern day stuff was painful. Except for uncle dude and his
brain magic but I think the problem is who cares? Like literally which character am I suppose to give a shit about? Stuffy trust-your-representatives guy? Or his give-me-everything-for-nothing glamour grunge kids?
i should have to declare that i've read Millar books before every post. XO
I really liked his Superman Red Son and Ultimates run, his Ultimates was one of the first comics i read when i entered into the hobby again after briefly reading comics based on covers as a kid. That gave him some clout as far as giving books a chance went, the same as i'd give Whedon even if he released several Dollhouse quality shows in a row, i'd give the next one a chance. Old Man Logan was decent too outside of Hills Have Eyes Hulks.
The quick rating rundown:
Nemesis - 6
Superior - 3
Supercrooks - 4
Kick Ass - 6
Kick Ass 2 - low enough i didn't even buy the last issue, and i buy things
Secret Service - 4ish
skipped kick ass 3 and hit girl, bought into Jupiter's Legacy because the premise seemed interesting enough and Quitely art. Nemesis was the least annoying Millar book lately, to the point that i ended up not regretting reading it and even liking parts of it. It's still just a movie pitch that doesn't really have any character development or intrigue, but a decent one. I'm going to go read my issue of Jupiter's Legacy #1 now to see what the complaints are about.
EDIT: Jupiter's Legacy #1 It reads like Millar is having a dull conversation with himself. If you stripped this book down into parts, power island, crappy kids, and a general talk about how one should use super powers, you could assemble something decent, but not one of these directions were taken anywhere interesting. Ending the book on a random person that shown up in three pages
Jupiter's Legacy #2 wasn't much of an improvement, there's just not enough investment in these characters to care about their personal problems, yet the overall plot isn't interesting enough to make up for the lack of development.
- Glad to know I'm not the only one frustrated with DCs trade release schedule. Pretty sure the Batman: Death Of The Family HC isn't out until October, by which point Zero Year will be on, what, issue 4? 5?Seriously, DC, take a look at Image and rethink your policy.
- Speaking of Image, some of the books they're putting out soon look amazing. Pretty Deadly, Black Science, Southern Bastards, Ody-C, Velvet. What a list.
- The American Vampire anthology looks so good. That book is packed with some serious talent. I hope it's included in the 6th trade when that eventually releases. Related: I finished the 5th trade recently and it was brilliant. I'm glad they're taking a hiatus if it means Snyder and Albuquerque get to stretch their legs a little, because it means they'll come back refreshed. Exciting stuff.
- Re: Nova, I think the reason I'm not too interested is because I so absolutely adored Abnett & Lanning's cosmic stuff and the new series doesn't look anywhere near as interesting. Starting from Annihilation (that wasn't just those two though, obviously) through to the Nova solo series and then Guardians Of The Galaxy, that whole run was just fantastic. Gerry Duggan is taking over as writer on the new Nova series though so maybe it'll start improving.
- Does anyone know if there'll be any more Invincible Iron Man Omnibuses (Omnibi?)? I have the first two and I kind of want to collect the whole series in omnibus format instead of regular trades. Hopefully now that the last of the individual hardcovers has released they'll put out another omnibus.
Never read any of his stuff other than Red Son so I don't know any of his tropes. I asked the guy at the store to suggest me something similar to Punisher Max, 100 Bullets or Preacher as my bug likes grim-dark stories that lack capes.

Interesting week up ahead. With Infinity and Forever Evil.
Sucks that X Factor is ending but at least we get a new Superior Foes, Chew and Battle of the Atom.

Too late, I already bought it a long time ago =(
I was travelling in the US with my family. While we were in Vegas I happened upon a comic store, and it occurred to me that this would be a good chance to pick up a gift and asked the owner for a suggestion. We were kinda in a hurry so I didn't want to waste too much time investigating.
I am hook line and sinker with Invincible. Honestly some of the clunkiest dialogue this side of The Newsroom but, shit. I am just all over it. Dude puts together one hell of an overarching storyline.
Even considering getting back into The Walking Dead. Picked up vol. 17, digi. Kinda bummed he doesn't put sketchbook stuff in the TWD trades. That stuff is really interesting in the Invinicble books. And Ottley...holy moly.
Villains month is totally messing up my comics' budget. I might not pick up all the ones I have listed below but I'll try. Hopefully my LCS will have some left by the time I get there.
