Just picked up the PS3 version. Installed it, linked my account and now its downloading something, I think the client. Them I should be good to go.

I have my USB keyboard at the ready too.

Now idea what class I'm going to play. I know bard and monks are popular so I'm guessing others would be more useful for instances like a paladin?

Oh man, why am I getting the world is full message at this hour? lol

Today's Labor Day so most people have the day off work. I usually have zero problems logging in at night as well so I imagine people are taking full advantage of their day off.

Either that or everyone is afking to play when they wake up.

I just got the game a couple of hours ago, but it finally finished patching.

Took me 3 tries to get into Ultros. Guess I should count myself lucky?

I played a gladiator up to level 23 (plus miner up to 19 and conj up to 11) before realizing that tanking is too difficult for me on the PS3 (I have a real hard time switching targets, especially when things get hairy with many adds). Should I just reroll a new character or start leveling up some DPS classes? Is it possible for your main class to be one other than what you started?

Wow... Ultros is full at 4:20am in the US. Does anyone else think that is absolutely ludicrous??

No. Many people who get in don't log back out. Why risk having to go through the hassle or queue and errors?

Edit: I'm more surprised that given all the issues the servers haven't been restarted like at all. I think I've been connected for like 72 hours straight now.

Well I've only played this game on PC and not PS3, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but having had lots of experience tanking every dungeon up to level 38 using both tank classes, I honestly find it harder to tank as a gladiator than as a marauder. Gladiators tend to have trouble holding aggro with lots of adds, whereas Marauders excel at group aggro. So honestly, having trouble tanking with a GLD isn't a surprise. Not sure if that has anything to do with using dualshock controller though.

Peoples attitudes in Duty Finder needs to change.

Nobody has to deal with the consequences of being an asshole in their instances/dungeon runs. In other MMO's, if people knew you were an asshole, you were pretty much a pariah when it came to endgame.

Don't be that guy.

servers dont need to be reset, since they like to kick folks out at random or totally crash on occasion. Happened twice so far this weekend on my server. At least a ton of people got kicked thats for sure with how the freakouts on the JP twitter happened. The joys of zoning

Does Duty Finder not have a votekick option?

I'm referring to the fact that I most MMOs, will have occasional restarts for stability purposes. Getting into the game seems hard but (for me) it's been insanely stable.

Doesnt seem like it. Since the fact that you are going in with randoms, one needs to already understand that the chances of getting stuck with the bottom of the barrel exists. Also why other folks rather try to make parties from within their own servers, that play Russian Roulette with DF.

Right now it seems that the only time when "restarts" seem to be happening is either unintended or during maintenance times. Ive yet to see one go down for just a standard "server restart" yet.

World is full?

It's a Monday and 10:55am in the UK.

Go to fucking work and stop AFKing, give someone else a chance to play

Finally look Fresh!

Now I have to level a secondary class so I can continue Main Story, I'm stuck @35 level mission, cause I took BLM to 50 hella fast by doing FATEs

Leveling GLD + CNJ so I can start up main missions again and be a PLD, it would be a lot of wasted XP going from lvl 35 to 50 Main missions and XP going to waste if I continued on BLM

This is how it is in all MMOs that have dungeon finders. It's why people only want to party with their guild members these days in most MMOs.

Given how long it takes a DPS to get into a dungeon via Duty Finder, you'd think they wouldn't be absolute fucking dicks once inside.

That is a horrible oversight. Being able to kick douchebags is what makes Dungeon/Raid Finder in WoW tolerable.

GAF Guild on Ultros even though it's many of us and @ max, most of us are strangers to each other

There are cliques within the guild

Some are end game only, some are static and only play with their friends/buddies, some do help and try to improve moving the guild forward by redoing dungeons and helping guildmates out, right now the guild is all over the place

It's labor day brah

I'm just fed up of not being able to play.

So far this free 30 days that came with the game is going to complete fucking waste, because people are clogging up the servers standing around AFK all day. Log off and give someone else a chance.

I have to go back to university on the 23rd of this month and I've barely managed to play at all.

I realise it's more efficient to stay logged in with all the server woes, but as someone who doesn't want to leave their PS3 on constantly just so that I can have some sort of chance of playing the game I payed for, I honestly think it's quite selfish.

In that case ill just pick a server I like and meet new peeps. Half the fun of MMOs to be fair is forming guilds etc with strangers that turn into buddies.

Thats pretty much what it was like in GW2 also. Expected when a guild seems to be made up for the reason of adding the tag for recognition rather than having an objective and is as large as the GAF guilds usually get.

The more I read about the AFk thing, the more Im surprised they dont surprise restart the server at random times.
Force everyone off for 5mins then you stop all the people Afking who arnt actually at their console.

Sucks hearing this though as Im hesitant to pick up the game till its calmed down as wasting half your free time not being able to log in would be long.

Edit: or just add an auto log out on say 30mins of no activity..

GAF guilds don't always remain the same in size. By then with the people who are left playing it becomes a "real" guild

Well there are some Pro FC's up in Ultros

Both on the Crafting and End Game side

We should have an outlook for our guild, but we'll see by the end of the month on how this FC fleshes out

Yeah they're selfish arseholes, but the real blame is with Yoshida and his refusal to put in an idle kick.
