The instance servers are the bottle neck right now, the world server caps are set lower than max because if they let more people in the instance servers would not function correctly.
They are adding more instance servers, then raising the caps.
You've got to be kidding. You don't really think this do you? Internet tantrum... ?
I really really want to justify the subscription fee that i will have to pay soon..
But with this kind of service (or lack of it like now) is making it very hard :/
being trying to play the game for the bast 3 days and every time i got denied by a long list of errors...
WAR tanking is amazing fun in these later dungeons. I have to dodge a bunch of touhou crap the bosses keep flinging everywhere while keeping aggro on me while trying to keep my Maim and Fracture up and also try to get Inner Beast up to help me heal through damage spikes. One of the cool things about Inner Beast is that if I have it up, the healer can pause a moment to Raise a dead DPS because I can patch heal myself for a short period of time by using it. I've already been in several dungeons where the healer had to do exactly that and Inner Beast kept me alive where I would have otherwise died.
This is a class I would hate to try and play with a normal keyboard or a gamepad.

Its the inferior and stupid PS3 peasants taking up the Master Race space. Kick them all and their shitty consoles. Long live the MASTER RACE!

I finished Sastasha for the first time last night, it was really great! I also learned something new about the game.
When we were done with the dungeon myself and friend on our server tried to message our healer and thank them for doing an amazing job. We couldn't and didn't know why...
After doing some reading I learned that the Duty Finder matches players across servers (which I'm sure many of you already knew) which is really neat. My friends and I remember waiting around in FFXI for upwards of two hours to get a full party in some areas.
What does suck about it though is that in FFXI that was when you really got to know random players. You'd all talk to each other while waiting for a pull and everyone would secretly scrutinize how everyone was playing during a fight and if they were good at what they did and fun / nice to talk to you added them or joined one anothers linkshell.
While I think not having to wait too long(when the servers are working) is pretty great, I do miss the chance of social interaction.
Anyone else have an opinion on this?
You can't use /tell cross-server, so if you meet somebody in a dungeon you like, at best you can take note of their name and then try to look them up on Lodestone and leave a message there (I think?). You can also ask what server that player is on.I finished Sastasha for the first time last night, it was really great! I also learned something new about the game.

It's a holiday in the US - not crazy at all!Crazy that it's full this early already. I usually can log in early and get in after a few tries. Guess no one logged off last night...lol...
I'm inclined to think the lobby server is down, I cannot get past error 2002 now, no matter how many times I try.

This.
Also, in ffxi if you couldn't play your class correctly, you couldn't level because people would boot you. I'm looking at you fast blade only tank from last night.
I also miss the coordination required in ffxi, the dps literally don't have to talk to eachother at all. I wish there was at least one thing where I had to coordinate with my party as a dps. Seems like most dungeons start up and go with no chit chat.
I'm assuming this is one of those "I'm kidding", but I'm "not really kidding" posts.
If you don't talk strategies before bosses you're doing it wrong.
If the tank is doing a bad job, tell him. Last night I got chewed by Omlet, for example.
I know about arrstatus, but I think it's wrong in this case - this is way too consistent.http://www.arrstatus.com/
Edit:
It's also in Canada. But you've got to remember it's a weekday now and lots of people with service industry jobs have to go to work regardless.
Plus it's worked the past two days.
It's interesting how these issues reflect the society in general. Limited resources (server space) and lack of control (no AFK kicks) leads to corruption and cheating, which in turn limits resources even more, making normally law-abiding citizens (players) turn to corruption themselves. And there we are.
Ya but what's there to talk about strategy for me as a monk? It's always the same: hit boss, don't get aoe'd, kill adds first, interact with x object. And the other dps does the exact same. What am I supposed to strategize?
I love the game, just wish there was some mechanic rewarding coordinated dps. Obviously the tank and healer have to coordinate, and there's lots of stuff to strategize, just seems lacking on dps roles.
tons more kids are off school today trying to play, along with those with desk jobs like myself that have the day off.
Oh I forgot to ask. Does ffxi have an idle timeout?
It is a Monday afternoon. How is it this bad beyond the weekend pile-on? How?
Briefly got into a 37-man queue. Then get kicked because the world is full. So obviously the queue system is 100% broken. Superb. Wednesday had better absolutely fix it, otherwise I can't see myself paying any re-sub out of principle for already getting fucked.
Several bosses has some tricks or special attacks that needs be have into consideration, some adds may require prioritizing over others and several other things. It becomes more apparent in further dungeons, starting from Qarn.
And to be fair I don't want any mechanic cooperation thing. Game is busy enough the more you level up. You really want as a monk have to take more things in consideration when you have to move all over the mob already to max dmg and keep buff, etc...?
