2002 lobby server error, no Start button, NA/EU server list. I haven't even had the chance to see the 1017 error today. clusterfuck and a half.

it's obvious we're in Phase 5 of the beta at this point. has SE said our free 30 days aren't being used up while they fix the server issues?

Yesssssss... got in after about 10 mins of numpad 0 spamming.
You've gotta admit, the login roulette is addictive.

A great game that you are unable to log into may as well be the worst game in the world, or no game at all.

As far as I'm concerned, every day that this bullshit persists does irreparable damage to the game's chances of longevity.

Can anyone explain how the duty finder works? Been waiting 30 minutes to find a party for Sartasha. I assume it would be quicker than this considering its a dungeon...

WoW had a ton of server issues when vanilla launched. They gave away a free month or two it was so bad. They eventually got them corrected but then they had 2000+ queues to get in. Which at this point I'd take for this game.

I'm not saying that WoW had no problems, I'm just saying that there were at least servers with minimum problems, like Dunemaul. Never saw a single queue in vanilla and I was there week one. Unlike FF14, where there exists no minimally problem free server.

Only time will tell. Almost every MMO launch has people praising it and saying how good it is. But once the content wall is hit and the games underlying problems/balance issues crop up, people start jumping ship. Especially on GAF we have seen countless MMO's that get positive fan faire only to be dead in a few months.
Oh for sure, but I'm hopeful. They have plenty of content planned and scheduled I'm not too worried about there not being things to do.

Unless they start delaying content which is entirely possible. This is what killed SWTOR for me, IMO. SWTOR is not as bad of a game as people like to claim, it just lacked shit to do for months. Hell it still has content issues.

Are they still only refunding 7 days? seems a bit cheeky only giving away the time they "missed" and not taking into account all the time people wasted trying to log into a game that was clearly broken, spent the last 3 evenings jamming buttons trying to get past various errors, blank world lists and greyed out start buttons. I was expecting at least 30 days extra.

2 months free of an MMO is a terrible business decision when a significant percentage of people jump ship after the first 30 days.

This is something that was kind of alarming seeing as how this is a MMO:

They have serious issues if 230k concurrent users are causing these issues. 230k is nothing when it comes to a MMO. If WoW launched with only 230k people playing, it would've been considered a bomb (EQ had 500k at that time).

Wait, what are you talking about? EQ had a peak of around 460K subscriptions, NOT concurrent players. The best estimate i've seen for WoW at its height is 900k concurrent.

EDIT: Half of which I would argue is China for WoW. Considering SE probably has no desire to branch into CN or KOR, two huge MMO markets, I don't think their numbers are crazy. Perhaps a bit on the lower scale, but not ludicrous.

"Rotate the camera at your empty character select screen and then get booted because the World is full" is my favorite game ever!

That was bested ONLY counting China. WoW at its peak was madness.

I mean, even DOTA 2 had 530k concurrent like yesterday. It's not an MMO, but WoW was sure as shit more popular than DOTA.

Didn't they give a year or something to people for 1.0?

The worst part of trying to log in, is gettign the 1017 error right after hitting the start button.

It's pretty much a cross server feature that teams you up with other people who has duty finder activated, some roles might be harder to find parties due to the number of people playing that job and are on seek (dps mostly).

I've never had to wait more than 5 seconds using duty finder in a party of 3 (tank, healer, dd), we just run into a lot of jackass dpses.

What if I keep getting "Unable to load NA/EU worlds", or something like that? Do I just need to log out and log back in, or are they actually down right now?

Gallery of higher end caster gear? The low level gear can be pretty hideous, look more like I'm wearing sleep wear instead of being a caster of some sort. I hope there is better options. And do all scholar gear make you look like some kind of graduate student harry potter reject?

Oh for sure, but I'm hopeful. They have plenty of content planned and scheduled I'm not too worried about there not being things to do.

I hope, it sounds like they are going for a 3 month content patch cycle which is what SWTOR did and that didn't please players. Most games seem to be trying to switch to smaller monthly updates to keep players interested, several month gaps in content is pretty killer for a sub based game.

Only problem with playing a tank class is that you need tank gear. How hard is it to get a set if you didn't pick pieces as you leveled?

Not sure I understand. I was given the option between disciples of war gear, pld/gla gear, and everything else. I've always been given tank gear.

Gah, it can still not list servers?
I mean ok for the servers being crammed with people, but how the fuck can you not list your own servers? :/

That's why. My longest queue as a gladiator was five minutes.

It's pretty much a cross server feature that teams you up with other people who has duty finder activated, some roles might be harder to find parties due to the number of people playing that job and are on seek (dps mostly).

I see, I guess I'll just do other quests while I wait or something, although a 45+ minute wait to continue on in the story seems kind of blah....
