I bought this, which I had completely written off because of the awful grimdark Silvestri cover they solicited with; but then, I caught the Comics Alliance article on it and saw that Quinones was doing a Harley/Ivy story, and Samnee was doing a story too, and nary a New52 influence in sight other than that eyeroll inducing cover, and I was like "why not."
Sticker shock at that cover charge, though. Marvel's conditioned me to ask "where's my digital code, DC?"

What do I need to get the most out of Infinity. I figured I would need to read Hickmans Avengers, New Avengers and that Thanos Rising mini what else? Do I need to read that whole Annhilation saga and guardians of the galaxy too and Infinity Gauntlet?
Concerning Battle of the Atom:
Are they going to clear up whether it was all of the Future X-Men that traveled back, or just some? Because if it's all of them, then there's a continuity issue with present Iceman being alive until the future and past Iceman dead...

Honestly I'm just not a fan of Johns. Dunno why, but I could never get into his stuff. So when he does an event or whatever I can't say I get all that into it.

I think there has to be sides, its unavoidable. Cost $300-500 a month to pull an average DC fans pulls plus indies and a Marvel fans pulls plus indies. I like comics, im sure I would enjoy a bunch of Marvels stuff and if I had the money I would buy it. Marvel does not have my beloved Batman though.

Well, they've been setting up multiple alt-reality Jean Greys for some time and bringing back the Phoenix, AoA Jean, Teen Jean. They are making some kind of big move. I'm gonna take a guess and say real-Jean comes back for the 50th anniversary at the end of this crossover. Hell, they even split up Cyke and Emma.

Not only that but as of last issue, Teen Jean isn't even that interested in Scott as a boyfriend anymore-she hooked up with Hank.
i think it's so great that Teen Jean is now on the run to avoid bring sent back to her own time...with Old Jean trying to catch her younger self to FORCE her to go back-which means she will then cease to exist. And then she even said she's more powerful than Professor X so she'll prevent her mind wipe. So there is no scenario where this is going to work out for everyone. Plus the irony of Jean wearing that helmet...

this event ends with the reunification of the X-Men. Or at least a greater level of cooperation. Jean will be back, there will be new costumes, probably all new #1s. What better way to do a 50th anniversary?

Random question, can someone fill me in on Marvel's omnibus stuff? I'd love to pick up the Astonishing X-Men and the Ultimates but not for $150+. Any chance these get reprinted or is it a pipe dream?
Teen Jean thinks she is more powerful than she is. She got her ass handed to her by the Cuckoos. Xavier would beat her without breaking a sweat.
I believe some of these have been reprinted in the past. I'm not really an omnibus guy, but didn't they re-release Morrison's run in the recent past? I don't think either of the books you mention would be out of the question. They are sort of perennial runs.

Actually this point was not exactly that. Jean just kissed Hank to see if it would change the future because she found an invitation to her and Scott's wedding. She checks again after she kisses Hank to see if the names change.

She did try to convince Hank to run away with her first in this week's issue. Scott was her second choice. Bendis has been doing a pretty good job at writing her as a normal self-centered teenager instead of a saint.
