FCC leak.

I can't believe all this is fitting into a phone smaller than the Nexus 4. The dimensions of this phone are perfect. I hope it's revealed soon although October is a safe bet since that's when it's Android's 5th birthday.

Update: Pics from FCC. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...ext-nexus-phone-under-listing-for-verizon-g2/

Them side bezels are so small, I love it.

The 2,300 mah battery is somewhat of a bummer, but I'm glad they kept wireless charging and removed the glass back.

The Nexus 4 will still be sold and supported. Guessing that's why they recently dropped the price of it.

Then I don't see what the point is. It's pissing into the ocean, the price was what the Nexus had going for it, otherwise it's just another Android phone.

They have that with the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One.

Well I guess that's the future of Android. Nexus will be a 'pure Google' device that gets the updates first. For the enthusiasts.

Google edition devices which are stock versions of high end phones that get updates a bit later and still have instances of manufacturer software teaks.

Standard Android devices. Self explanatory.

Also isn't there a rumour of another Motorola device that's cheaper? I swear I heard something like that

No it wont (be sold)? They always remove the previous version when a new Nexus phone comes out. The new one takes its place.

In any case this may be it, but even the article sourced isnt saying its the N5. Some things don't appear to add up.

I have a Nexus 4, and I would honestly never buy another LG phone because the reception sucks ass. I thought I'd never have a phone that would have worse reception than a Samsung, but this takes the cake.

No SD

More expensive

Still not on Verizon

God damn did you read the info in the link? It said that it will probably be on verizon later this year. And where do you get the more expensive from? It's a nexus, the nexus have always been cheap compared to the competition.

That's silly of them but then again they could barely keep the thing in stock while it was out so I guess I should have seen that coming.

Shouldn't this be 5.2inch if it's based of the G2?

Since the Nexus 5 is supposed to be releasing with Kit-Kat, does that mean the other Nexus devices will have the 4.4 update the same day as the Nexus 5 releases? Did the Nexus 4 release alongside of a major Android release?

I really wish manufacturers would focus more on battery life than thinness in a smartphone. I want my phone to last at least a few days between charges.

At least for me, I know I want better battery in my mobile, put on a few millimeters if need be.

Hopefully the Nexus 5 has good battery life, but 2300MAh isn't looking amazing.

Yeah, they hold back Android releases so they can debut with them now. The Nexus 7 launched with 4.1, Nexus 4 and 10 launched with 4.2 and the Nexus 7 Mk 2 launched with 4.3.

They will start pushing the update out to other Nexus devices and GPlay devices as the N5 ships yes. Most Nexus/GPlay phones will probably get the update a few days afterwards.

Man that Band 4 LTE whatever had better play out on Verizon. If they don't sell this phone I will shit glass.

Why do people still care about SD slot, it's not supposed to be a complete media storage device as many streaming and data services exist.

can you record 1080p HD video to the cloud? or is that something better suited for an SD card? can you install 1GB+ games to the cloud? what about GPS map data for apps that work without an internet connection? what about people who want to avoid data caps and have a decent music collection? what about people who just want to carry around every photo they ever took in the last 10 years?

It may very well have a Verizon LTE band, but don't expect Verizon to sell it. You would still probably have to get it from the play store off contract. Verizon should never see another Nexus device again IMO.

Depends on how the pricing works. If it's a contract phone then it's complete bullshit (same for non-removal battery) because I want the world. If it's a decently priced off-contract phone then people will make concessions so that Google can make attractive price tiers.

8GB is not enough for music, I can tell you that. That's for music ONLY as well.

You don't have to carry your entire music collection or albums in FLAC. Two previous phones that I have owned came with an SD slot, I never removed the cards, 4GB and 8GB.

I currently have a Nexus 4 16GB.

:/ I hate how people assume battery life will suck because of mAh size. Software and a power efficient CPU, antennas all matter when we're talking battery life. Who knows what 4.4 might bring for battery optimizations.

I know you guys will probably gut me for speaking anything about the iPhone but it's a prime example of that. The phone only has a 1440 mAh and it has great battery life.

BTW the HTC One has the same size battery and it also has great battery life even with that 1080p screen.

well, there *was* a rumor that 4.4 would introduce scaled back multitasking to make it work better on more low end devices... but i mean, it's a SD800 in there...

Wonder if this will be a worthy upgrade over my HTC One (converted it to a Play Store edition myself)
