Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

Yeah I've been doing that.

Last time I ran right into a tiki trap after getting the ankh. -_- Just realllllly dumb mistakes on my part. Gotta take things slower.
The cape, jetpack, and/or the spring shoes help avoid the traps a ton.

My hell run I didn't need to deal with one crush trap lol

My sister just gave me $100 PSN credit for my birthday!

I'd really like to spend it wisely. Will you help out a fellow vitabro?

What should I be buying, based on my library of games listed below?

Dragon's Crown (loved it)
Muramasa Rebirth (loved it)
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (loved it)
Rayman Origins (loved it)
Guacamelee (loved it)
Mutant Blobs Attack (loved it)
Limbo (loved it)
UMvC3 (loved it)
PSASBR (meh)
NGS2+ (loved it)
ACIII Liberation (meh)
Bunch of PS+ free games (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, NGS+, etc.)

1. Persona 4: Golden (You're a vita owner and don't have it? Shaaaaame on you!)
2. Spelunky
3. Hotline Miami
4. Soul Sacrifice
5. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD
6. Super Stardust Delta
7. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable

In that order.

Edit: And remember Killzone is out next week if you're interested in that. Rayman Legends also just came out and you love Origins but I haven't played it yet so I didn't put it in my list.

Based on these, you like things that I like, so I will tell you to get Sound Shapes, Stealth Inc & Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. Thomas Was Alone, too, if you still want a platformer fix.

I'd recommend Little Big Planet Vita since it's a platformer, but I don't want you to drop a big chunk of your PSN wallet on that unless it's on sale.

I'd like to recommend Spelunky, but it's frustrating(ly fun), and I don't want to be responsible for that. I love it, but be warned.

No need to say it, but I see Origins on your list and not Legends. Planning on getting it, right?

Hotline Miami for sure. I figure your action and indie enjoyment should intersect there somewhere.

I've never seen that game, but I'm looking at video of the PSP game now, and I like it. This is a sequel, a port, or what? It's coming to Vita?

The OT didn't really give me much to go on.

It is a sequel. What is unclear is what platform XSEED plans to release it on.

The series' only exposure to the West has been through the PSP release of the first game, but it is native to the PC and has also received HD remasters for the PS3.

You need to play and finish it (: it's an extremely short game (:

Really? I might just do that then. :) Been playing either Dragon's Crown or Muramasa non-stop every time I pick up my Vita. I need a different type of game to alternate with so I don't burn out.

I thought it was reserved for Dragons Crown.

You done good.

Hello VitaGAF! Just got mine this afternoon and doing all the system updates / game downloads now. I love this little handheld already! I've been reading this thread and others and the kool-aid has been drunk!

I wasn't expecting the art book with DC when I ordered it, but it's really gorgeous.

So jealous right now...of your DC art book and TWD. (I wish I hadn't bought TWD on Steam so I could just buy the Vita version without feeling like I was wasting money.) Enjoy your Vita!

I can already tell you are going to have a good time.

The only maddening thing right now is waiting for TWD to download.

I went with the standard 4GB card and I immediately see the error of my ways. Is it hard to upgrade to a bigger card?

The only hard thing about upgrading to a bigger card for Vita is to fork more than 80 bucks for a 32 (actually 29) GB card -______________-

I just bought that bundle a few days ago. After a day I realized I needed a bigger card. 16gb one will be here tomorrow.

It is simple. You just swap it out for the new card and redownload the games, or alternatively, back up your game to the pc and transfer it to the new card.

As for price/utility, I think the sweet spot is currently 16gb, and possibly 8gb if you intend to stick to retail when possible.

I just went stuff it and got a 32gb. :)

Lots of new vita owners in here. Welcome!! its good to see - sounds like yall are loving it as well. If only more people could come to that realization and quit writing it off! Glad to hear about TitS too.

4gb just doesnt cut it. AT ALL. Theres no pt to it. 8tb shoulda been the lowest card qnd 128 the highest - though im sure people would fill that up too and demand an even bigger card - esp on gaf.

Really want to jump in with so many awesome games comig out but im tying hard to focus on beating NLKS. Already went on hiatus from persona 4 and i know the moment i get a new game ill stop playing NLKS too! Ahhaha too much good stuff to play!

For myself, buying a 4 GB, 8 GB, or 16 GB will create a little fairy in my head that will endlessly nagging me with "But there's something bigger out there, why don't you buy that, you idiot."

congrats.

nice to see so many new Vita owners lately.

buy Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure and Persona 4 Golden.

Sorry, didn't see it. I have backed up my 16gb card before to move to 32GB one...which took... a lot long than an hour. No burn in whatsoever, the screen does not burn in as easily as you were led to believe.

No burn in. Very happy (worried over nothing), the 32 feels so liberating!

I re-installed Klonoa, When Vikings Attack and Patapon now that I have the space.

I also just purchased Stealth Inc.

My Vita is a happy system. It took my neglecting it for a bit, to realize how fantastic it really is.

I would like to know this as well. Consider me weary because of the framerate issues that we had on the PS3.

Do we know when Minecraft is releasing? Is it this year?

It pauses in between loading and heavier gaming transitions: Action/QTE--> cutscene

Otherwise, fantastic. I hadn't played anything other than Episode 1 on 360 prior, waited all of that time for PSV. Best story in a game, in years. Simply intense, cerebral, affecting, moving and ultimately, haunting.

Make every attempt to sac damsels to the altar. The chalice goes a long way. If you can get the bonus 8 health, even better

What does the chalice do?
Also, I'm curious about pictures if they help me learn something. :)

What's the best sidescrolling shooter for Vita? Come to think of it, I haven't gotten any of those yet.

Sine Mora is easily the best.
Flying Hamster HD is solid.
