GTA V has gone gold.

That's not actually a bad idea, but I'm reluctant to go digital with a full retail game. Sure, I might get it a few hours earlier, but it's stuck on my hard drive and tied to an account :[

Thanks, so tempted to do it that way now. Any idea if they let you download the whole game on the 13th or just half? My broadband is shit.

I'm actually concerned that PSN will be hammered at launch and it will take forever to download. Still not sure what to do. I'd at least hope to wake up to the game download finished. Don't feel like going to the midnight launch, the last GTA midnight launch I went to was madness. It was convenient though considering I worked until 10pm about one thousand feet from the Gamespot.

Anyway, release needs to be here soon.

If you pre-ordered it'll start downloading on the 13th. Check the PSN/SEN web interface for transaction history.
 
I don't buy strategy guides for help, I buy them when a game is awesome and I want more of it.
I have only bought 2. Ff7 and mgs4.
I'm gonna buy that deluxe GTAv guide though.
 
Sounds like CVG/GTA5Oclock is gearing up for some big stories over the next week. Pretty obvious given that the game is only 1 full work-week away (love saying that)

Seems like a pretty good deal. I preordered the Collector's Edition here in the US via Amazon. I generally get guides for my "big" games or those I'm a fan of the art for, especially Rockstar's since they usually cram a ton of artwork in there some of which never gets released.

Didn't Sony also announce at the GameStop convention that Rockstar was among the 20 or so third party developers providing exclusive content for Playstation? Seems like people didn't know if they meant it was PS4 or PS3 related.
 
Some new pics leaked. Apparently the top right pic with the banshee and chopper is new.

It does say Display case on the bottom right but don't shops like GAME do that with all titles and keep the disked versions behind the desk or outback.

Oh btw pics are from a UK person so probably bundles on the way to GAME or something. Can't find any larger screens since its from an instagram member.

I picked free delivery for my GAME pre order since it has always come before the release day ( but they were allowed to send it early)...

I am afraid of not getting it by release :(

How long do you think it will take to install the mandatory 8 gigs on PS3? My guess is somewhere around an hour, but I certainly hope it's quicker than that. Luckily, I'm getting the LE strategy guide with the game, so that will keep me somewhat sated while I wait...

Also, I have a question about OTs on GAF. Who decides who gets to make them and when they go up? How do you not get 15 OTs around the same time? I've always wondered this.

I believe there is a thread where you request to make an OT. Not sure if it's FCFS or what.

It'll probably take 20 minutes or so. Installing from a disc is usually faster than the PS3 installing a game you downloaded.

I've always wondered about strategy guides... Do the developers make them with BradyGames, or does Brady Games (or whoever) get some early copy of the game? Seems like it'd be the source of leaks, but I don't know how those work at all.

That's an awful lot of display cases. 84 units per case. I'd assume they're breaking those cases down even further then and sending them to stores. I can't see a store needing 84 display units.
Also wondering what "swop" means.

Well i'm no expert but one thing is for sure. The pic on the right is brand new so it can't be a fake.
