NBA 2K14 Gameplay Trailer

Kobe's facial animation and reaction look great in the Bron gif.

Also the running animations look smooth as hell. 2k14 Next-Gen, is gonna sell like 500k in DEC. On BOTH platforms.

And for those who dont buy or play 2k yearly. I giggle inside at the idea of the game never improving. 2K improves at a greater rate than most of your favorite games and genres. Which release like every two years. IMO.

2K does every season what GTA does every three years. God tier series do God like things. Its cool to not like basketball, and what have you. But just keep the bullshit to yourself. Please.

The lighting and animation are both fantastic even in an early form.

Kobe and Ray look like the real thing. I had to double take. LJ's off though.

Preach.

hahaha, so don´t like basketball?

NBA2K is a solid game, but they would need two teams to give them 2year dev cycles in order to change things up.

Lead passes and other types of cheesiness are in the game since the Dreamcast days.

It´s OK to criticize things you like. 2K is not as stagnant as Fifa or Madden, but it´s not reinventing itself or fixing major issues each year.

Cool gifs.

Hopefully next gen will bring us hands touching the rim properly and better cutscenes between plays to look more like a TV broadcast. Cameras on 2K would always pan too quickly or just focus on the wrong objects, looking like a TV switcher on drugs.

They do. But they change everything based on feedback, for the Thanksgiving patch.

How quickly we forget that there was no such thing as a made contact lay up on a drive. Until the forums bitched for it. Now, LeBron doesnt miss lay ups. And the forums cry cheese.

Everybody wants it both ways. 2K patches it both ways. The tears flow endlessly.

Waiting ten years for them to bring back the cinematic cams from original 2K.

IMO, it would work and look great on Next-Gen. I gotta get on twitter and ask Wang whats up with that.

Honestly, this looks way too much like 2K13. Kinda like how 2K12 was not that different from 2K11. Why show off a current-gen trailer?

I think I' going to skip out on this one and wait for the PS4 version. If it's anywhere as near as good as that E3 trailer, then there's no reason to get this on current gen.

So, whats wrong with the graphics of 2K13?

Its still a basketball game. You need more animations to improve a sports game more so than the over arching look.

it varies player to player. some players are modeled better in newer iterations while others look worse. I think 2k11 is still king though in terms of how it controls, how easy it is to do moves, the amount of moves you have, and also all the features in the game (with none locked away because of pre-orer bullshit).
I guess. I mostly play as the Bulls, and just about every player looks far worse than their 2k13 counterparts. Don't get me started on Thibs, hahaha.

That looked terrible, I hate all the canned animations, there's no life like movements. And why the fuck is that Kawhi Leonard throw the ball over your head shot in the game, that shits probably going to be like the stupid helmet catch in Madden 09.

Sucks that the PC version isn't the next gen version :/

Probably going to skip this year like I did the last. Still nothing significant added.

My only real problem with 2k right now is the lead passing and the dunk animations. It's hard enough trying to stop Miami\Lebron the locomotive train. But man, if this guy starts his dunk animation, IT. IS. OVER. You can wrap it up because its 2 points plus the foul. That cheese online annoys the hell outta me, but its not just Lebron. Its the dunk animations in general its like once they start they are incredibly hard to stop. Other than that, definitely picking up next gen version. Im done buying console games for this gen.

You can block dunks on NBA 2k14.

Honestly 2k is so good, and EA hasn't made a good NBA game since the Genesis that I'm impressed that they add more year to year than EA does with Madden/fifa/nhl combined.

Gonna be picking this up at launch with my PS4. Going to be so good with remote play on Vita as well.

So is the next-gen version actually re-built with a new engine or gameplay or anything, or will it just be the eye-candy version of same game?

Hole shit, I can't believe I hadn't seen that next gen "footage"! Looks amazing.

Current gen trailer is meh..

I think I'll be getting this on the PS4. I haven't touched a sports game in years since all I used to play was Madden, but after playing Madden 10 and really disliking it I haven't bought another one since then. I've been wanting to play a sports game lately to change things up and 2K14 looks like it will be really good, and I'll need some launch games so this should do nicely.

NBA 2K14 and MLB The Show 14 are going to be the most realistic looking sports games ever.

its not so much just their graphics, but mainly their animation.

and next year PES 2015 will join the list.

Next Gen and Current are to different experiences. We've got two separate teams working on our current and next gen versions. I can't wait to share what we have in store for next gen. :)

From Operation Sports, Most of 2k devs post there

That's awesome there is a seperate team for next-gen development... Bring on the ps4.

Apparently they have beefed up free agency in association mode this time around. It would be cool if they added or brought back to association:
- ability for teams to relocate to another city (this is in madden isn't it?)
- bring back the d-league. It was useful when you could assign some of your players to your d-league affiliate, and there were some good players you could add to your roster from the d-league teams as well (players with 90+ 3pt rating etc.)
- teams having a clear direction in how they operate i.e. a team entering full rebuilding mode and wanting to trade veterans for cap space / draft picks
- sign players from the euro league teams that have been added
- team owners having their own objectives for how their team should be run e.g an owner wanting team to remain under the cap

Will forever support 2k but holy hell, OKC got no video time (apart from Rondo going to the paint on Westbrook).

I mean even Rose got screen time and he spends more time in a suit than on the court.

2k13 was good enough honestly. I'll participate in the next gen version in 2014.

I just play pickup games anyway, in which the 13' servers will be shutting down as soon as 14' releases.

I'm getting tired of 2K's preorder bullshit. First they lock the all-star teams behind it in 2K13 and now they're locking Lebron James out of blacktop mode?
