Sony Promising The News We've "Been Waiting For" Tomorrow

I don't think the stream would have subtitles if they were only going to announce a Japan/Asia release date.

My expectations are in check, though.

They haven't even posted anything about it on the (US) PS Blog yet. I wouldn't expect much else personally.

Oh GAF... Why? Why do you do this to yourselves?

Nothing will ever live up to expectations like this.

In an ideal world, the announcement would be native PS2 emulation with framerate enchancements and upscalling with antialiasing. I recall Asian gamers like to play classic games through used sales and/or backlog and not everybody warmed up to the idea of PSN classics. Oh with Vita remote play too.

Realistically, the annoucement is an Asian launch date.

So we're getting Persona 5? Surely that's what we've all been waiting for right? That and maybe Demon Souls 2.

The Last Guardian is but a figment of your imaginations!

Considering where this was posted, and the event it refers to....

"News you've been waiting" = release date and price in Asia.

It's not the news we have been waiting for.

Edit: Please don't take this gif as a knock on GAF, like I'm calling it a madhouse. It's not and I'd never call it that. I love it here! Check how often I post: I average 15 posts a day.

So yeah, not meant as an insult :)

I'm not going to go overboard with predictions.

Until proven wrong, I will firmly believe that the only news we will get will be on the Japanese PS4 launch tomorrow---without The Last Guardian and without Persona 5.

Bushido Blade 3. 1080p/60fps, online play via enhanced GGPO, PS4 launch title, crossplay & cross buy with Vita.

Please believe.

They won't translate and livestream it globally if it was only that.

I've learned that it's best to have the most modest expectations possible when it comes to press conferences.

That way, I never get disappointed.

What if Sony just created a new translate / livestream policy to make up for that horrendous camera work at Gamescom? It's probably linked to special, new announcements, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

NOTE: "Special" meaning things that would surprise us. Like The Last Guardian. Or Persona 5.

Hot Shots Golf.

Oh, and system upclock, memory upgrade, 2tb harddrive now included; last guardian download code for Japan only.

TLG news will come when it comes. 4 years of trade shows have shown us that. Until then, no one should expect it.

This was a stupid thing of Sony to say.

Of course there will be games announcements with global relevancy.
But one thing is to expect Hot Shot Golf, Yakuza, Dinasty Warriors, DeepDown maybe Gravity Rush sequel....the other is to expect Demons Souls 2, The Last Guardian, Persona 5 all announced in the same event (which is fan finction) :D

PS4 has to be revealed in Japan with big announcements, IMO it will be like a second "PS4 February reveal"

That's what I meant by "I'm not getting my hopes up for any special, new announcements."

Of course we're going to get PS4 games that haven't been announced before. But people aren't going to be blown away by more Hot Shots Golf, more Yakuza, and more Dynasty Warriors.

I'd be genuinely surprised if this was TLG. I originally assumed it'd be more of a local megaton, but I'm fairly excited nonetheless.
