I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm at lvl 26, but still have yet to come across "The Company You Keep" mission. In fact, I'm stuck at the lvl 19 "Life, Materia and Everything" mission asking me to deliver a dagger (but the option to deliver it never appears). No other missions seem to come up now.

Is there no way to advance unless I level up my BSM? Ugggggh! I've completed the crafting log 11-15 and theres nothing new to craft ;(

You deliver it to a guy in Central Thanalan. The dagger was given to you in a cutscene I think? If you check Key Items you should have it.

This quest gives you the materia creation command, you'll probably want to complete it.

You can use the 'map' in the journal entry for the quest to find out where you need to deliver something, no?

Is the warrior class more "active" than guardian/paladin? Only 16 but I hit the same 2 buttons over and over with the occasional flash on my guardian and its boring. I know I'm still low level, just curious going forward how it is.

Its strange, but it DID say to deliver it there, but the marker was red with a key. I'll try going there again.

If it's red with a key anytime, you should still try talking to the NPC, because they'll tell you what the requirements to accept/do/whatever the quest needs.

the game has started crashing on launch with SweetFX installed - it was working fine up until today, nothing has been changed, and i'm not using Steam. any idea what could do that?

Quick question. If a Dungeon scales you down to let's say Level 20, if you are Level 22. How many advantages do you get to keep? You will still be doing a lot more damage right?

Edit. I am trying to find any way to help me get through my fear of Copperbell. Still haven't done it.

Looking for an invite into GAF but haven't been on when the leads are on. My username is Caj Charlemagne on Ultros

I think the FC is completely filled. Pretty sure a lot of Gaffers (you and me included) would want in but can't.

Oh wow! Did Brayflox on my first try! And I think that was the most fun I've had in the game so far. Managed to get paired up with an awesome group and I got a chance to try crowd control with Sleep. And to top it all off, the loot gods smiled upon me with a BattleMage Robe and Hat.

I've had absolutely no problems logging into Exodus at any time this weekend. Perhaps a queue for 2 minutes but other than that it's been rock solid.

So glad SE did something about that. Of course as soon as they fixed the server my cable connection goes to shit. I should get 115down/35up and I'm getting 30down/0.40up. Sometimes my actions take too long to register to the server and I take extra damage because I didn't move even though I did. Oh well.

But here's what's pissing me off in-game:

-Gold Spammers. Completely obnoxious. I mean, 40 times in one minute in /shout? Crazy. It's compounded by the fact that there's no easy "Report Spam" option when you right-click a name.

-Armor w/ head. So apparently any armor that has a visible head attached to it like the heavy iron armor will *remove* your equipped head slot. Which really sucks. They should at least let you equip the head piece and get the stat bonuses from it. I'm using Heavy Iron armor and I have no head nor legs equipped. Lame. In other games you could still equip the pieces...you just won't see it.

-Can't disable environmental shadows. I hate shadows in MMO's. Just not worth the cpu cost. I really would like to remove them completely. But there's no damned option to. I hope they work on that at some point.

The point of that gear is that it provides you with the combined stats of both head and body or leg and feet.

Which has its merits in providing a bit of variety to the loot system. I like it anyway.

What I don't like as much is that the head is rigidly attached to the body - so it doesn't turn or rotate, which makes for several awkward animations, including but not limited to running, cutscenes, and sitting on the mount.

Chest/leg pieces that have the helm/boots built-in (are supposed to) have higher stats that those that do not of the same level/quality. They're designed for you to not be able to wear a helm.

The problem with them is actually that most of them look dumb, but that's more of an issue with head pieces in general (and in most MMOs, not just this one).

50 PLD Get!, Full AF to boot ^_^

Goes nice with my 50 BLM, 2 down, 6 to Go!

Onwards toward Mining + Crafting for a week+ with dungeons and hard mode primals on the side

Finished the Main storyline too, was an awesome day of achieveing everything right before NFL games start haha

The F_ keys are probably more effective, especially once you get to the later dungeons and things get hectic.

IIRC, the default is:

F1 = Target Self
F2 -> F8 = Target Party Members #2 -> #8.

If you're primarily a "clicker" right now, it might be a bit of an adjustment but it's worth it in the long run.

***Full disclosure: I don't play a healer but I use the F keys for /assist targeting and it works great on my Bard.

That's good advice. I will practice that. I need to also figure out the best way to utilize the macro keys on my Logitech mechanical keyboard.

Ah! Ok. If it combines the stats that's another thing entirely.

And another thing I don't like: No chat bubbles?! Which is crazy because NPC's have chat bubbles when they talk. They should add them for players that are speaking in /say. Would really help especially in FATE's or when I need to communicate w/ someone in close proximity. Text gets lost in the chat window.

/blist add "name name"

Not a good reason for the game to lack a right click report option, but hey, it works

That's what I've been doing but when you have a few spammers in every zone it becomes extremely interruptive to the experience to have to block like that. Right-click spam option would be great along w/ limits on how many times players can spam a channel.

One dude was just spamming crazy fast the entire day. Just a bot.

Yeah, combat in dungeons is pretty fun. Combat everywhere else is a total dull fest. Dps tank or anything.

Tera spoils what I expect out of mmo combat :/

Why do people not use the Duty finder for the main scenario dungeons? I was stuck at stasakha (or however you spell the firs ever dungeon you have to do in the game) for about an hour looking for people. I had to go to the dungeon's entrance and try to recruit people. I thought the whole point of the system is that you can do whatever the fuck you want and when enough people want to do the dungeon, then off you go.

Just hit BSM 50.... and I'm flat broke. Once all the crap I have loaded on the AH sells, I can get my BSM unique. Hopefully... Then I can make my relic!

So to activate the ground based limit break for BLM on the ps3, you choose it, use the right stick to aim, then press x to fire it off, right? I was having the hardest time getting it to work last night, like I was spamming the limit break not realizing I had to aim it. Wiped once on the Brayflox final boss cause I couldn't figure it out. Luckily I had a very patient party who explained it and we finally won. I'm sure they were complaining about me to their guilds, lol.

Probably why it's recommended to go tank for story.

It is, except for a while it caused server problems. So now the worlds are in groups and duty finder only searches within the group of servers, so it's narrowed down there. Furthermore, if you are playing a damage-dealing class, you should expect a long wait because there are more damage-dealing class players proportionally to the tanks and healers. People do use the duty finder for story dungeons, it just so happens that this is how the class ratios determine how long you have to wait.

The way you're doing it is just how people did it before duty finder existed. And in a sense you can say it is better, because you're playing with people on the same server that you can friend and play with again. Alternatively you can ask to join a free company and try to build a party from there.

It's an MMO, there are things built in to encourage social play. It's not a solo game.

Another thing about the duty finder if that even if you can find one or two people to party with it will help. Last night for Brayflox I got a dps and a tank from gaf then went to the duty finder for a healer and it came up immediately. Our white mage said he had been waiting for awhile too.

I like to make things fun in regards to searching for a party for dungeons. I just run around sending out random invites to WHMs and tanks lol. People are nice about it and ask what the party is for. This way, I can farm FATEs and look for party members.

I'm thinking of just rolling on Sargatanas and hoping its not to bad for newbies.

Same but in the last 48 hours I've watched nearly every other full server get Windows of opportunity. Just worried in another few hours it will be open and I'll have wasted time :p

Any advice or links for a new Scholar? It seems like with SCH you need more control than ARC over the specific abilities that the pet is using, or do you just let it do its own thing? Also if any high level SCH want to post their UI setup that would be helpful. I practiced support healing on ARC but I want to make sure I'm getting the right pet and buffs up at the right times.

Bard AF completed

Now to continue with my DRG. I really dont expect to play as BRD right now but I already had Archer to 50 from 1.0 (pre-jobs) so atleast I got the job/AF.

Am I missing something about Fists of Fire? It says that mp is being consumed to increase attack power, yet my mp never goes down at all with it activated.
