SCEJA Press Conference 2013 live stream links

This doesn't really tell us anything we didn't know. I'm looking forward to see what's coming for Japan next gen.

Same here. They're not going to show of stuff like ND or SSM's next titles, but we will see what Japan has to offer going into the next gen.

they're just covering their bases, don't want us to make assumption that new ps4 senran kagura x rated edition is coming to US. ;)

But there's always the hope of importing it...

Why not both?

I know it would take time. but it would have been more successfull than games like FFX-2 and the Advent Children movie. What i mean is that a remke FFVII would sell more then even a new FF.. And they already have the story, characters and all that. I know it would take a long time like FFXV but it would cost less.. and would probably generate more money. After XIII i'm not even sure im gonna try XV but i would buy a FFVII remake out of nostalgia

First off, that first part is extremely conditional. And the condition is that the remake gets great reviews which is nearly impossible. There are so many scenes from the original game that can not be recreated on the PS4, due to the questionable/flat out dumb nature of those scenes. Barrett's character would also not be allowed to exist, unless you want it to be the first Final Fantasy in over a decade to not have any voice acting, which would kill a lot of hype among newer fans of the franchise. It is not going to be the same, which makes it impossible to live up to fans who have a ridiculous nostalgic memory of the game. It would obviously be more stress than making a new game with new restrictions.

Second point, as someone pointed out already, FFVII was obscenely expensive for it's time. There is absolutely nothing that would be cheap about it, especially since we're not talking about an HD remaster, we're talking about a complete recreation. As my favorite FF title, I'm in the camp that never once thought we'd get a full remake of FFVII. Square management got way too excited with FFVII's success and fed the fans with unrealistic expectations. They've been living down that stupid decision for 15 years.

People need to let it go. It's never going to happen.

*FFVII remake announced the next day*

Anyway, I've never seen a Japanese press conference, so I'm looking forward to this. It would be hilarious if a dating sim is considered AAA enough to feature in a conference.

So, yeah. I'll be on the train on my way to work when this thing is taking place. Really bummed but at least i'll have a ton of news to read once I get there.

You guys have to realize who that post is intended for. Not hardcore gamers, but regular gamers who may watch the event and expect all/most of the games announced will be coming to N.A. There will be a couple for us, of that I am certain

You're right.

If you post to GAF you probably have enough savvy to know that not everything mentioned here is coming westward.

I am going to bed GAF, I am leaving my tlf number here, please only call me and wake me up if TLG is showed.
I trust you GAF

I dunno guys... kazamatsuri is bringing the hype :( I promised myself I wouldn't be hyped because Kawano is too long-winded... but... hyppppe.

Pretty sure this won't be interesting to you if you don't plan on importing games. If you do, it's worth paying attention to.

Crisis averted.

Isn't he in charge of Sony's Japanese third party arm?

Anyway, three things that seem for sure

1.) Release date for Japan/Asia
2.) Yakuza Ishin platform announcement
3.) Over My Dead Body 2 update

Yeah he is and yeah we can expect at least those things for sure.

They're just saying this because they assume even if they announce stuff like Yakuza and dark cloud that most NA gamers wouldn't find that appealing.

/glass half full for once.

Holy shit, you saw that in a positive way? I don't have a bunker, I'm fucked.

Kagari... you're supposed to be the one to steal the hype from my wings, don't do this to me. I feel the looming shadow of disappointment hanging over us all. ):

My guess is December. They can still make 2013 which would still be close enough to the NA/EU timeline.

Plus they could probably make it through the end of the year in Asia with needing less than a million units (depending on what they have for launch). They just need to make sure that the Wii U doesn't have two holidays to itself. Especially since Nintendo is releasing bigger games toward the end of the year.

Just checking but I read somewhere that this will also be subbed in English? Is that true?
Edit: Read the blog, apparently so... hmmm wonder if I'll be able to read it coherently or my mind will play tricks due to staying up for it XD

Does anyone know of a place live blogging this? I can't run a stream where I'm at but I don't want to miss the info.

Maybe my best bet would be to just watch twitter.

Man... imagine if we're all wrong and it launches in 2014 in Japan (which wouldn't be beyond expectations in any capacity). Talk about underwhelming.
