Would Dixie's reference ID not coming after Diddy despite there still being a few in-game Brawl characters that come after her (and other areas like Toon Link being sandwiched between the cut Dr. Mario and Toon Zelda) hint at her being worked on after the Diddy/Dixie tag-team was scrapped? Or is the order of the ID references completely irrelevant beyond some being sorted by the Smash they debuted in?
 
You know, on second thought, I think I'm going to have to dive back into Brawl one of these days, because something with that list doesn't sit right with me. It's been a few years, but I specifically remember Snake coming after R.O.B. -- Snake is "superficially" at the end of the list with Sonic, but that seemed to be a late change in order to have the guest characters appear after everyone else in the credits roll. I think he's hardcoded right after R.O.B. (Or maybe my memory's just failing me.)

Whatever the case, I genuinely want Toon Zelda, Dixie Kong, and Plusle & Minun in SSB4.

Anyways, I wonder how they're gonna handle Mewtwo's megas, if he does come back. Maybe give him a randomized final smash, where it's one mega or the other? Could be interesting, and unique.
 
Since I haven't played Pokemon since Gold/Silver back when I was 9, I never got what Plusle & Minun were. Are they two separate Pokemon or do they fight in a group? Are they just artificially similar to Pikachu or are they somehow despite Pichu in the same evolutionary tree?

Also like Wolf being planned for Melee I expect at least one of Brawl's cut characters to make it into SSB4 as a last-minute addition. Probably Dixie if they don't plan to have any other DK rep and want to loosely tie into Tropical Freeze despite its recent release.

Plusle and Minun are separate Pikachu-like Pokemon in Gen 3. They're just similar to each other.

Plusle and Minun are gen 3's pikachu clone thing. Like how gen 4 had the flying electric squirrel thing, and gen 5...I don't even remember but it had one. Plusle and Minun to me were just promotional tools for gen 3 introducing double battles.

They should integrate Mega Lucario into this mechanic. Maybe have him Mega-Evolve whenever his damage gets over a certain threshold?

Been hoping for him to get into Smash for a long time now. I could see him being some kind of MegaMan/Meta Knight hybrid. Fingers crossed, anyway!

It pains my heart to admit it, but the chances are slim. Any one of them would make for a great fighter, but we'll see. SSB4 /will/ coincide with the 20th anniversary of EB/M2, so that might give some leverage to Paula/Jeff/Poo if they're adding another MOTHER character. I want Masked Man, though, damnit!

Interesting to note Peach's page doesn't link to a relevant release like Luigi's and Olimar's did. Also cool to see she apparently has a new move involving her crown!
