Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is pleased to announce the development of a new edition in its mega-hit "Monster Hunter" series: "Monster Hunter 3 (tri-)" for the Nintendo Wii.

?The "Monster Hunter" franchise is a series of action games that puts the player in the boots of a fearless hunter tracking down and battling huge and ferocious monsters all while traversing breathtaking natural environments. To date, the series has shipped over 4.5 million copies worldwide (as of September 30, 2007). The "Monster Hunter Freedom" series for the PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system (referred to below as the PSP® system) makes use of Network Play to build upon the gaming experience, which has boosted its popularity, especially in the student market, and has also helped to make it the first PSP® game to sell over a million copies in Japan. The series has also been the recipient of numerous awards with "Monster Hunter" for the PlayStation®2 receiving the Award of Excellence at the Eighth Annual CESA Game Awards and "Monster Hunter Freedom 2" receiving the Grand Award at the Japan Game Awards: 2007.

?Capcom has worked tirelessly on the latest title in the series, "Monster Hunter 3 (tri-)", to utilize the unique aspects of the Nintendo Wii, which will create a "Monster Hunter" game unlike any of its predecessors. The attractiveness of the Wii experience is sure not only to please existing fans of the series, but also attract newcomers to this unique adventure.

?As always, we at Capcom will continue to strive to develop new and original games that appeal to a broad audience around the world while expanding our properties for multiple platforms. We believe that by bringing the "Monster Hunter" series to multiple platforms, it will help the franchise reach an even greater number of users eager for its unique gameplay.

DS Demo Station was announced two fucking years ago.

Well, I remember that I got excited for the SD card support for saving game in Gamecube, and that thing is only working for one game (AFAIK), Pokemon.

Forgive me if I also doubt the realization of DS Demo Station, especially since it is based on internet, and Nintendo's track record regarding internet (I have purchased Broadband/cable modem for GCN, and never got the chance to use it :( ).

For your information, it not yet two years ago. It is only 1 year 4 months at most.

I expect MH Frontier 2 for PS3/360/PC later in 2008.
I don't think this is anything for PS3 owners to be really upset about, apart from the loss of exclusivity part. I mean, it was a big potential system seller, but PS3 owners will still be getting a MH game in some form, I'm sure.

Everythings going to change now..forever...

And shit..how are we supposed to download FF:CC Wii Ware on our Wiis? That game will have to be atleast 1GB!

I can't believe Sony is about to get the spin off.

So, in the world of digital entertainment, today I:

- Finished Zelda PH.
- Watched half a dozen surprising new announcements for Wii and DS.
- Downloaded the new Radiohead.
- I'm currently unlocking Episode 2 and Portal.

and within the next twelve hours I'll pick up FFT on PSP. Not a bad day.

That bigger the better. That would only mean one thing. External HDD support coming.

If the game turns out to be pretty good, are you still going to complain about how it could be that much better elsewhere?

More to the point, now it's on the Wii are more than 20 people in the Western world going to give a shit about Monster Hunter? Because that would be pretty neat.

THE WII SAVES GAMING

Okay... so I have a few questions as I'm not going through all pages of this thread?

What is Away?

And what is WiiWare? The new FFCC looks quite cool..

No no, the Wii is embezzling gaming by sneaking franchises to their system.
Its all part of coping.
"No games -> Minigames -> Could've been [Console of Choice] games -> I didn't want to play these games anyhow."

Wow that is some serious shit.

Guess I may as well grab Monster Hunter Freedom 2 while I'm out snagging FFT PSP. Gotta get somewhat caught up with the series.

can anyone tell me what Monster Hunter is like? the only images i can conjure up are pokemon style games (which i can gather is NOT what its like) :D

That is the problem, we don´t know. I don´t care of exclusivity, sales is not my problem, I could buy the game for any console, and I wouldn´t mind having a Wii version (have curiosity about the controls even), but Wii exclusive and no news about a PS3/360/PC is just sad.
