Why can't MS just specify what it is that they have that will close the power gap? My guess is, they don't have anything.
They're touting their more complex architecture. Worked for the PS3.

(IMO) Both Killzone and Infamous SS look way more impressive than anything shown on the Xbox One yet if you ask me. Sure, RYSE looks impressive, but that seems to be the only thing they have shown that looks as good as it does.
I think it's still too early to tell to give it a percentage though.

Yup, this should have been their stance from the beginning. I don't care that they aren't super powerful since I buy every platform. They're going to get my money at some point anyway. The PR has been HORRIBLE though. I have no idea why they wanted to talk specs on the first place. Just shut the fuck up and make games, it's not that hard!
If it's stressing you that hard then contact a mod and see what he/she says. That's pretty much all you can do. Maybe they don't view it as "PC fandom" "PC elitist bullshit".

At this point "50% more power" doesn't concern me. xbo will be my next console beacause I personally am exited about the gimmicks (my gf and I watch plenty of tv). I also see far more life left in my ps3 as compared to the 360, xbo has more games that interest me at this point, and finally because the design of the ps4 gives me...anxiety(?).
Plus if the ps4 really is as powerful as they say, it will be like a whole new generation (for $50-$100) by the time I buy one right?

The people who made 360 initially aren't there anymore. That is why you see the difference now. Moore,allard,shane kim and bach are gone.
I'm personally tired of console parity or perceived console parity (which is another reason why I'm not getting either system at launch). If one system can't keep up compared to another on specs basis or actual performance basis, that's too bad. If in this case, it's Microsoft's system that seemingly can't keep up and PS4 third-party games are purposely underpowered so that the publishers can receive more money from Microsoft, then it's a complete shame.
If Microsoft's idea for better performance includes Kinect integration, switching between apps and in-game ads, then no thank you.

The XB1 is better are integrating with live TV with its HDMI passthrough. I also think it will be better at simultaneously running separate apps along with a game thanks to its Hypervisor OS. In addition, while the Kinect is pretty bad as a game controller, it does allow for more complex input when using the system as a multimedia box. Even then it is not that the Kinect is a better input device, but that it is an input device that you always have access too.
I give credit to Microsoft in that they created the console system that they set out to do. The Xbox One does do some things well. The problem is that vision cost too much money to pull off. I think an XB1 at $350 would compare equally with a PS4. XB1 games are not going to be ugly and the console will get full third party support. At $350 the shortcomings of the system could be overlooked in favor of the other supported features for many users.
The problem with MS isn't that PS4 is more powerful. It's that PS4 is more powerful and cheaper. It isn't a good look for Xbox One. The only thing they have over PS4 is Kinect which many people don't care for. Everything else is pretty much comparable between the systems, both systems will have decent media features, both systems have comparable OS features, both systems have comparable online features. The only difference is PS4 is more powerful, cheaper system, no paywall for apps, cheaper paywall, and Instant Game Collection and no Kinect. All these things make the Xbox One value look lame as their competitor is just offering a much better deal, However people say its all about the games, but MS has yet to give us firm release schedule that is better than PS4, they are both also comparable, and Sony hasnt even shown their cards with MEdia Molecule, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica and Guerilla Games second team. I feel sorry for MS PR, as they have to spin this when theyu probably know themselves what the truth is.

PC is a platform just like the consoles. I think PC gamers have a right to enter into the discussion if it's constructive IMO.

Yea, just ignore a piece from a major publication trashing your system anonymously.
Fact is, looking at some of the early games for both systems, and what's coming at launch, and how Microsoft's offerings compare thus far with what's been shown on the PS4, it becomes quite obvious that the Xbox One will be fine with early games looking as good as they do. Ryse, to me, is most graphically impressive title I've seen on either system, and that isn't an easy feat considering how amazing I think Killzone looks.
That said, I'm highly suspicious of the Ryse footage shown in the latest vidoc. It almost looks too good to believe in some respects. I'm starting to worry that it's a pc build.

Yea, I personally don't mind if the X1 turns out weaker than the PS4, it's not a huge deal breaker since I won't be buying one until it cuts the price or drops Kinect (or hopefully, both) and I'll only use it for exclusives (yea, Halo and Forza pretty much). What does irk me is when MS and their fans try claiming it's stronger. That's just absurd, and it's what's causing these issues for MS.
Both systems have multitasking, except Xbox One allows snap on with some apps, however how important is snap on, save for Skype it seems rather pointless. Who would give a fuck about taking half the screen away to search a website, when you can pull out your smartphone instead. Basic multitasking is enough, how often has someone used similar snapon features on their phone, rather than using normal multitasking features. And yes the voice commands seem pointless, as PS4 OS demonstration shown it is easy to get to where you want, multitask and join games instantly. Kinect OS navigation seems rather pointless, again how often do people use Siri, save for being in odd situations like driving which wont happen on a console, even if you do find it useful was it worth the extra $100 to say Xbox On, something that insignificant should have been optional really. And i give you the HDMI in feature of the Xbox One, I guess thats one major media feature MS has over PS4.

Considering all the things that happened since the Xbone reveal, I never thought it was possible for Sony to rattle MS' cage like this, they're defensive at absolutely every little thing that happens now.
Whoever gets the upper hand in the coming years, the lead up to this gen has been pretty insane and quite masterful.
