Just this morning I had some dude on magitek armor tell me, "Stop following us noob," when I was following people around to fates. It was actually a large group I'd been doing fates with and I figured they knew better than I did where the next ones were gonna pop up. Like seriously I'm not allowed to go to the same fates you are?

Join the GAF FC? I haven't done the first 4 dungeons on my tank and we could party up for them and get you through them quick. IGN is Qhon Tayuun.

Honestly, don't let those photos scare you. Those occurrences are not the norm; its sort of an "it bleeds, it leads" effect where people tend to only talk about the sour experiences they've had.

Gaf fc is awesome and always have a bunch of willing participants for dungeons regardless of lvl. You can look me up on ultros when I'm on name is Pistachio Dasalty. I've done all my dungeons so far with gaf fc members.
id probably run castrum unless you have use of the loot drops there

Mor Dhona or Northern Thanalan in the north of the area. FATE farming in both basically, if you want that.
Wanderer's is 40 tomes, iirc, Castrum gets you 100 in about 25 mins. So it's much faster.
No, really. You can easily power through most fishing by taking the guild quest reward bait back to where the guild quest was, and/or getting a gathering leve and sitting at the fishing hole closest to that town with the bait sold in that town.
This might be obvious (or not) but if you put on enough gear with perception it'll boost your HQ catch rate noticeably, and they grant really good xp (1k+ per HQ catch at your level). Specifically I was using crayfish balls at the Nym River in Middle La Noscea, due to being sent on a fishing quest to catch a HQ fish, when I discovered just how much difference more perception made. You should be able to get your perception to at least 60 or so without much effort at level 10.
It's 50 tomes, but Castrum also doesn't drop any gear at all. I know as a fresh 50 I have a lot of slots with 45-47 jewelry and a miserable 45 weapon. At the very least, I would appreciate having more pieces for spiritbonding so that I have the materia available when I need it.

If your PC cant run it, there is no reason not to buy the PS3 one. Not being sarcastic either. Granted at times stuff might get choppy, but it happens on the PC too depending on situations.

It sucks, but you're going to get people like that. Some random got a little miffed at me for getting involved in their fate group run, despite how the fate pretty much spawned directly on top of me.
However, it's not entirely representative, even on Ultros. I had a pretty good experience on Tam-Tera with duty finder today. Our team composition was so hilariously bad; two archers, a puglist acting as a bootleg tank, and a conjurer who was the most vital member of the party because he had a heal spell and sleep. We managed to make our way through the dungeon. Hell, our puglist was probably not even an English speaker and aggro'd mobs while some of us were afk at times, but we just laughed it off, was understanding whenever one of us died, and kept going through to see how far we could take this.

Being my first MMO and all, I honestly never expected elitist players in a game like this. It just goes to show that people actually want to coordinate step by step in every dungeon. Some players really get passionate about that >_>

Yeah, GAF FC is awesome. I'm new to all this stuff and they are always willing to help.
With any luck, a lot of the assholes will move on after the free period ends. You'll always have your elitists, but XIV has a strangely high percentage of straight up douchebags compared to other MMOs I've seen, and I really don't understand why. This is my first time getting in at the very beginning though so...

I played with 2 other peeps from the GAF FC and then one random for Halatali. It was amusing to see one of the GAF'ers rage in the FC chat about how bad the random tank was. Of course, he never said anything directly to the person. It's not like we wiped or anything, but I do agree the tank that was with us wasn't that great since he didn't lead very well.
Free month + the final fantasy name inviting people who've never played an mmo before combined with people with previous mmo experience.
It's similar to people playing dota 2(or any other MOBA) for the first time.
Actually, when it comes to the community(especially at endgame), they're pretty much like ones you'll see in a moba. Ragequitters, people who berate you at the slightest mistake, people who expect you to know everything about a certain fight... I mean there's people even sending false reports for not exploiting a FATE(you guys know the one) that only a handful of people can get the extra XP out of. Shit's ridiculous.
Mine was a mix of market/vendors/quests. I had gotten most of the gear as rewards from various quests from working on a few professions, but it's not that expensive to buy some gear with perception on it, and worth it for the faster gathering leveling by getting HQ more often.

My password is pretty buff as well but as soon as I was made an officer in my FC, I attached it. It'd be one thing if I was sloppy with my own account but wasn't about to do that to my friends with having FC chest access.
Should be on the nearby vendors. In general the, for example, level 30 fish (since you're always aiming up a tier for best exp) bite on lv25 bait, sold by the NPC that also sells lv25 gatherer's gear, and Sisipu will send you there at level 25.
Eventually the guild requests get more esoteric, around when they introduce you to weather effects, but by then you'll also have a greater handle on where fish of your level can be found.
Got my darklight cowl but still have a crappy weapon. Ifrit has not been good to me
The Ifrit weapon is barely an upgrade over the l50 GC weapon. Just finish your GC quest path and pick that up, it'll hold you till you get your Relic. If you happen to pick up a primal weapon on the way, yay, if not, no big deal.
If you can't handle AK without an upgrade, you can also look at the HQ version of your relic precursor.

I'm still trying to purchase an R2 key for friend, anyone know where I can buy it? It's tough because I'm living in South East Asia, and we got a limited stock of the R2 keys.
How so? I can only imagine the problem being they didn't replenish their DoT's enough.
Poor burst, anything that requires that to some extent becomes significantly harder to the point where I think having 2 of them in a light party makes things potentially not worth doing.
The first boss in ST with two Summoners is a PITA. Last boss there too.
